Love the F38 and F50, but F22 seems to be not secured enough in terms you can't lock the release button like in F38+F50. I hope the make a twist lock in future updates for the F22 because the whole system is really gorgeous. I still didn't buy any but planning to get the A7SIII cage because it has F22, F38 and F50 baseplate, which means you can use it with conventional Manfrotto and Arca Swiss clamps as well like when going from a baseplate/rig to like a macro focusing rail you don't need to change the plate under. So this cage is compatible with Tilta shoulder rig, baseplates, fluid heads, macro rails. It's really jack of all trades. Fingers crossed for future F22 secure locking mechanism!
i dont do video so this is a photopgraphy question. I have a promediagear flash bracket. Would it make any sense make the switch to attach a flash to a magic arm f22. I would have to buy the cage since thats what falcam has with canon. the benefit would be that most of the time you can go easily between portrait and landscape mode on a tripod and i just have to carry around a magic arm for events... although I have never seen anyone use magic arm for flash vs a L bracket. the youtubers seem to all use this setup for video so is it just weird or impractical?
My main issue is smallrig just has the market covered. If you want random extras, smallrig has probably made it! Everything is the same size and interchangeable. My fx3 bits can easily go on my a74 cage
Smallrig has lots of goodies, we used the A7IV L plate but that did not work with the flippy screen, and the cage has no arca swiss built in. This cage is tailored to the A7IV pretty well and the quick release system they use is just super easy to use, compared to the 1/4-20 Smallrig is using. You should give it a try Jay!
it does not, but what I did I got a PD Capture Clip compatible plate from Ulanzi which is a tight fit, and added a Falcam F38 quick release to it, so I can convert my PD Capture Clips to Falcam ones :)
@@holdmylenscap7241 I think I understand how to convert PD capture to F38… step 1: attach PD compatible falcam plate to Capture V3. Step 2: screw F38 base to the top of PD compatible plate that is already inside the V3 base? Am I correct?
Thanks for the video! Considering it's as a cage, I'm new to cages - does the cage allow vertical shooting straight to the final or do I need an addition part to the cage?
if you get the Top Handle you can attach it on any side of the cage, not just the top but any sides and even on the bottom, so it is possible to use the cage for vertical shooting easily And on top of that with the A7IV the screen can be fully used in any position ;)
Yes it will, but depending on the gimbal you might have hard time to balance it as the weight distribution will be slightly top heavy. But I just checked and the gimbal plate locks on both sides in the right direction, but when I tried to balance my Weebill S I did not had much luck without weights to counterbalance the top heavy weight distribution.
