As many of you know, selecting a good notebook is not as easy a proposition as it sounds. In my ongoing exploration of fountain-pen-friendly notebooks and notepads for everyday writing, I take a look at the Rhodia Side-Stapled A5 dot book.
There are a LOT of notebooks out there in the A5 size that might fit your needs. Rhodia is one of the more popular ones and they are quite accessible world-wide.

Thank you - great review. An enjoyable pen tour too. I've just finished a pen-full of Pilot Murusaki Shikibu and wasn't that impressed with it, but seeing it from that wet Montblanc nib... lovely. Any chance you could cover some A4 loose paper sometime. I have searched high and low using printer papers and such and cannot find one that doesn't give too much ink spreading. FWIW I moved over to Atoma A5 six months back. The paper isn't bad, but their 'A5' pages are extra wide and I found it much better for my note taking. Cheers.

Hi Kevin for A4 I use Clairefontaine Triomphe. Will feature that one day but not too expensive and most people agree its a well behaved paper. I also have some old stock of Stuart Hall legal paper which I use. Thanks for your comments
