No one in the entire world knows everything. I've learned so much from Mike. I'm pleased to share a little insight with him, regarding pronunciation. Back off people. Hugs, Mike! 💜
I love the brown derby! I wish they still had spaghetti and meatballs on the menu as a nod to Lucille Ball. That episode of her visiting the Brown Debry with Ethel will always be my favorite. Thank you for bringing us on your lunch date! 😊
I would put the Cobb salad in my top 2 of the parks and top 3rd of the DWR. #1 for me is the Goat cheese salad at Chef de France, 2nd is any Seasonal Salad at Wine Bar George unless it has beets then no thank you, the Cobb Salad is next and a must-do every trip. I saw that Light up drink and Thought Mike you are going to need a huge splash of club soda with that one. the duck is a new favorite of my kids and is so good. Nice review.
You two make me so happy! You made my day, once again! Mike, I'm making stuffed bell peppers in the slow cooker today. I'm using organic everything, plus a little monk fruit sweetener to balance out the bitterness of the bell peppers. I may have to write this recipe down. It's smelling amazing. Take care, Gentlemen! Safe travels! 💜
I love when post notifications tells me y'all have a new video! I skipped Brown Derby last time I was at HS, but will not miss it this town! Awesome video, as per usual!
Our brown derby story is my fav… I always wanted to go 1. Because of magic dad recs! 2. especially because of the I Love Lucy episode where they go, it was my moms favorite and something we shared before she passed.. but we couldn’t get a reservation (we are more Disneyland than WDW travelers so not something we have a chance to try again and again). On a busier day, we tried walk ups and nothing. I was disappointed but moved on. My husband later in the day said ‘I need to use the restroom’ and left. He came back and said … ‘brown derby will take us in 5 min.’ He sneakily chatted with some AWESOME cast members and they squeezed us in. We had a wonderful meal and made magical memories. Can’t wait to go back. The martinis are 🙌🙌
The last time I was at HS Brown Derby Lounge (2 years ago), I tried the oyster brie soup from your suggestion. I'm still dreaming of that delicious stuff!
I LOVE the Cobb salad at the Brown Derby but separately I don’t like hard boiled eggs, avocado or tomatoes. It’s funny how they taste so amazing when they’re mixed together!
Everyone has different taste. My husband and I hated the Cobb salad 😂. It honestly tasted like lawn clippings. Perhaps if they didn’t chop it so fine that you could eat it with a spoon we would have gotten more definite flavors of the other ingredients. Thanks for the video 😘
Steve, "coq" doesn't mean "cooked" in this context. In a general sense, "coq" means "cooked", but in this case, being a specific dish, it means "rooster". It means "rooster", although most people use a hen these days. ( Think "cock" = rooster.) Coq au vin means chicken in wine. Pronounced "coke o von".
Yes, not really cog au vin. And to avoid any future embarrassment when ordering the dish at another restaurant you might want to check the proper pronunciation.
