I love that you're on here on RU-vid creating these effortless looks. I feel like everyone has gone overboard on creating the most perfected looks they can. Which is fine some times but there's also something nice about a more casual approach to makeup. Eyelashes don't always have to be coated three times and combed through. Eyebrows don't need to be filled in solid. Etc.

Lisa's make up expertise really shows itself through her ongoing commentary; not only does she describe pigments, and shades well, she goes above and beyond to offer tips, a product's density, and provides a detailed explanation of why she chooses to apply more or less of an item. There's no tutorial like a Lisa Eldridge tutorial!

micapetey I couldn't agree more. You don't need to pile on the makeup to a) look beautiful, b) show skill, c) be appreciated. With skill comes the ability to know where to hold back, and a lot of gurus just don't seem to get that.

it's PERFECT! i'm so glad that you made a video showing that you can wear casual red lip. there are houndreds of makeup videos on YT and instagram photos with red lips, but nearly all of them are the 'fully-glamed-up' type. i'm just sick of all those drag queen brows, contouring and false lashes that we see all around. Red lips are gorgeous and i would love girls to learn from you that they can wear it for shopping or something without putting all those layers of makeup on their pretty faces. I find that a few short individual lashes add some nice definition to the eyes without making them too doll-like or retro. I'm loving the tan eye though and the absence of winged liner! Much more fresh and effortless! Love you Lisa, you're always one step ahead from everyone else!

I usually never comment on videos, but today I felt like I needed to. I've been watching beauty videos on youtube for years now and sometimes I can forget that you don't have to do a thousand steps to bring à look together. Watching your videos reminds me of that. I do actually learn so much from your videos. Not only how to create a fresh look without overdoing it, but also about the make-up trends now and from the 50's for example. I think anything you do comes off as effortless! Your red lip tutorial which solely used a lip pencil had one of the best tips I've learned. If I want to top it off or not, I take my trusty MAC cherry lip pencil and line and blot repeatedly, then don't have to worry about it for the rest of the night. Thank you! This tutorial is next on my list to try :).

I adore everything you create. You make putting on makeup so much more, at least for me you do! You inspire me to have the courage to try new and different things. The only downside to your videos is that every time I've been watching one of your looks, I instantly want to remove the makeup I've got on so I can try and recreate your look. Hi, Lisa! You must get comments from international followers all the time and Brazilians like me seem to be all over every place possible, but I felt I had to comment on this one. I have gotten into makeup a couple of years ago and I am pretty much a novice with little skills. Your tutorials are so far the best thing I have ever come across online. The're edgy, classy and very easy to follow. I just loved the idea of wearing red lipstick but Brazilians tend to wear it matte and very over the top. It was because of you I finally found many classy, simple ways to wear glossy reds with clean, beautiful eyes. I am so glad I found you. You are just awesome! It's rare to see a red lip look 'fresh', but this looks fresh and lovely with just the right bit of polish. Usually, if I go red I'll just use a tinted chap stick or sheer lipstick out of fear for making my lips stand out in a bad way.
