Reloading Bench

The has just about nothing to do with reloading, or at least for the time being it doesn't have anything to do with reloading. Maybe over time I'll find a use for it that does tie into reloading.
Found this totally by accident and when I came across it, I thought it was a great idea. Essentially a jig for bending thin (coat hanger and thinner) wire into better shape than by hand or pliers (seemingly). The pegs add some creative ability beyond the straight, hard corners and round edges.
Decided to take advantage of my bench's T-Slot track and mount this to a spare piece of oak wood. Was going to go with a 3/4" inch of wood, but found a thinner piece that I could re-purpose by trimming it a bit. Trimmed, sanded, drilled holes and then sealed it. Finished product came out pretty decent.
This thing will come in handy...someday!

My gramps had one of these . I got one from Amazon about four years ago. Comes in handy for making latches and different things around the homestead. I mounted mine to a piece of hickory with a hasp on one end so I can close one end of the stick over the bender to hold the wire down firmly in the jig. I use mine quite often for all kinds of projects.

Ive had one of these things, it was a hand me down from one of my grand parents who was gone before I was born to explain what it does so it took me a good year or so of not solid study and research but picking it up every once and a while and trying to figure out it's purpose. The pegs were long gone I guess cuz I've never seen them, I started out thinking it's some kind of drill/saw guide but the holes were all the same size but not even and not all the way through, so Ive been working on the Idea it was for thin sheet metal which it will work for but now I know. It's funny the one I got is probably 80-100 years old but it's pretty much the same design so I guess it's a winner

I was going to troll you for this dud of an example, but this is actually one of the best "how to" vids on here because this is exactly how this would go if i bought this thinking i got it after watching a professional whip up a masterpiece. Which pisses me off so bad after seeing someone make it look so easy my dog could do it, and then i completely bomb it and end up slamming it on the ground, cussing youtube and swearing ill never attempt a diy project based off a youtube video. Well, if you've made it this far and still reading my comment, thanks for an honest review and keep em coming! I think it would be hilarious if people did real reviews and didn't edit them in ways that make them look as they know what they're doing, so hell with the cry babies!

Your comments on this video have to be the most honest/sincere assessment I've read about this particular video, particularly for one simple reason; you understood exactly what it was about. What all the trolls (95% of comments) with comments like "you're an idiot", "you don't know what you're doing" etc. DIDN'T understand is I actually did NOT have a clue what I was doing and the video was of me discovering what this gadget could/couldn't do. Simple. All the trolls expected me to be an expert at wire bending (clearly was/am not) and the video would be a demo of said expertise. They missed the entire point of my "WTF is this thing?" and how do you use it. Most of my "first look" videos are just like this. How is one an expert at something the first time they try it? Funny in a sad way folks are SO wound up based on the comments. And who could have imagined a silly video about a nothing kind of gadget would get 24k views? Amazing all the way around. Agreed, it was a dud of an example, as that's how the video of someone trying something for the first time unfolded. No edits, no polish, just reality.

I think it’s mainly intended for jewellery making where the wire is much softer !

Cool little jig. Definitely mounted in two spots. Also, a shorter piece of wire would possibly work good. Thanks for sharing something other than gun stuff. More gun people need to do that on occasion :-))

Awe...I feel so bad I couldn't help change your life in 4 mins....probably isn't the first time you've spent 4 mins on a video you decided wasn't worth it and probably won't be the last. But I'm pretty sure you'll let each content provider know how bummed you were that they took the time to create something you found completely useless. Says the dude with ZERO content on their channel. Nice.

I’m saving this because there’s some really useful stuff in here - especially the mounting - however, you should’ve used not a coat hanger wire to demonstrate. But I get it, that’s what you had on hand because you don’t seem to be a jeweller or metal smith, or else you’d have a smaller gauge wire, a different metal, and it would probably be annealed so it was soft enough to bend. But I’m definitely sold on getting that jig, so thanks!

Says the expert with ZERO content of his own for others to comment/critique. It's always the goobers with NOTHING to show on their channels that have the most to say (negatively of course, so you are most likely an unhappy camper/troll in life) about others who add/create content. Don't like it, don't watch. Move along troll, nothing on my channel will appeal to you. Take your rain cloud with you, Charlie Brown.

I make and design jewellery, you really messed up, the wire you used was obviously to thick, and to long, and your very clumsy, I do not mean to be rude, but I would never let you make or even ATTEMPT to make or touch my jewellery tools lol….…Ray in the UK..
