I own a im 508 and yesterday it give me the PIN codes and program the keys for a 2005 Jeep Cherokee great tool and I own autel elite and xpad100 put them all together you will get the job done.
AESwave always has that in stock it seems. Bought the 608 this time last year and they came out with the pro version. Worked with Carlos at AES wave and was able to get upgraded to the pro, for a fee of course as the key fob holder is different but software is same so a regular 608 has the pro software if you have the proper adapters. Went to do a Ford the other night for first use as I'd used it for Automotive Repair prior to that. Went into immo and clicked the vehicle and being a ford even with AKL just add a key because if you do AKL it's different.
I emailed aes wave first and since the tool was new he had no eta on getting one. As for the ford as long as it has two keys already in the system just do 10min wait or bypass if given and add key in.
Does anyone know how the Autek IKey820 compares to this machine? I will never spend $4k for a key programming tool. I remember when Advanced Diagnostics charged close to $10k for their tool with all the software upgrades, and now you can get a Chinese clone of the same thing for close to $150. It's obsolete now, but it just goes to show how much the mark-up is for an electronic box with components that probably cost no more than $50.
@@riskitforthebiscuit7324 a few reasons. First I tend to get quick responses replying on RU-vid videos. Either from the channel themselves or from others in the comments section. On most RU-vid videos the comment sections are very active. Second google didn’t give an answer and definitely doesn’t give any real world answer it’s just the highest paid advertisement which may or may not work while if someone can recommend an actual tool that they used that’s much more beneficial to me. Also even just now going to google I didn’t find any such $500 universal programmer. I see plenty in the $1500 range and all weird off brands so I have no idea if they are any good or not. Lastly what’s it to you anyway.
I'm going to buy a new Key programming tool and I want to know which is the best... I watched your video, but since its been a while; Has anything changed? Do you still think this tool is the best? Where did you learn on how to program cars and its scenarios without having to go through each programming blind? Any tips you can think of would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time.
Is it true that this unit can program a key when you do not have any working Keys / chips / fobs present for the vehicle ?? I read somewhere that it could for a 2008 Land Rover lr3 and the lost Keys mode. I have a 2008 Land Rover lr3 and the key fob is completely destroyed in the immobilizer chip does not seem to be working when I use the blade with the chip next to it trying to start it. It just flashes red with the immobilizer security Dashboard Light. I'm waiting on a locksmith who is out of town this weekend that has that unit and I'm just trying to get feedback on if it should be able to program with no working key present just some unprogrammed ones.

Hi, thanks for the video. I am looking for something that will "unlock" used keys. Right now, mostly Chrysler 2005+. Will this or most likely the IM508 unlock keys. I also need to reprogram VINs in PCMs too. Will the IM508 do that or do you have to have the IM608? I saw where this will supposedly activate the ABS module when bleeding brakes. Is this true? Will it do one wheel at a time? Chevrolets are the worst about this

I got a im508 and tried to program 4 different aftermarket brand keys to a 2008 Range Rover and it wasn't able to program it. I'm wondering if you ever had issues like that when you had your Im508. I saw a video of someone program one key for a range rover like mine using the im608 so I asked him the brand he got. So I purchased that brand he Told me but the 508 fails the programming.
Does the large unit with the screen does that unit give the ability to scan a vehicle to check for codes on sensors and computers as well as being able to do keys? Or does Autel require a different scan tool for each function? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated! 😊 Ron
You said you have to be a locksmith to get one of these? Meaning you just need to take a locksmith class and pass it to get your certification and you can be able to get one of these legally? How would i go about doing that and how much does the class cost?

Quick Question... well a couple... dodge, chevy, ford is this capable of keys on all three? second, as far a diag goes what is this tool capable of? SRS, ABS, CEL??? any live data and is there and Deisel regen stuff?

Are these devices safe? Asking because, (if) these devices can save key information and someone can make a spare key later with that info and run away with your car? I hope they can't be tricked to do that
I mean you raise a good point. A lot of fly by night locksmiths run around with no credentials that could do what you are talking about. The device does store key data for some cars IE MB. So using a trusted verified locksmith that would be the best option to safeguard against this.

Was skeptical about wether or not this works for CAS 4 lost keys also? apparently a recent update came out confirming that is able to to carry out this procedure but not sure if it’s just another selling tactic from the seller to be honest. Thanks in advance

Auto Pro Pad was the former OtoSys IM600, It is good but I don't trust AUTEL with Updates, they might downgrade it and ask you to pay for what you bought first as they did with my MaxiSYS MS908 Pro.
@@Josstech98 no the autopropad has absolutely nothing to do with autel. That was made by xtool tool and American Key Supply................ The autopropad had previous versions called the ps90L and the PS80L but it has absolutely zero to do with autel company in any way Maybe you meant to say that the auro otosys im600 was the predecessor to the autel im608
@@weldingjunkie yes just add xp400 to im508 and you have same functions as im608 You will need to keep the elite for the bmw and mercedes coding and programming that you cannot get on the 608 or the 508

Hi bought mine from an Autel Consultant name Curtis Hardin he's from South Africa and I'm here in Los Angeles California at a price of $3800, it comes with a life time consultant and technical support this guy is legit he knows his stuff. If you have a software problem you call him up he will enter your system and fix it for you without sending it back to the manufacturer. If you have a problem with or issue from key coding to diagnosing or any question he will be able to help you. After watching him on RU-vid I decided to buy it from him cause of the life time technical support. I dont know much about this scanner but he educated me and now I'm a pro on this particular scanner. Hope it helps
Aeswave.com sells it and if you call they will work with you over the phone especially if adding other stuff at same time. AES will give you support plus Autel can remotely login and help you. Warranty stays in effect as long as you renew subscription annually. Not a bad deal if you ask me!! Had a issue and called AES wave and within 15 min had Autel calling me and we were done in 10 min with them remotely logging in and showing me what was wrong.
If you are just an everyday person and purchase this. You're not going to be able to use it to program keys because you're not a licensed locksmith. Is that what you're leaving out.
Anyone can buy the tool so anyone could program keys. Some states have locksmithing laws and others do not you need to be aware of the laws in your area
I purchased the 508, is the key reading used only for vw and audi? I put chrysler keys, honda, nissan and other car keys to read. I always get the same key type: HITAG 2 Is that possible or is my machine malfunctioning? I subscribed to your channel and put notifications on because I use this tool now. I tried a 2010 nissan maxima and it was a mess. I had to use my launch tool which is easier to program the used key. The launch gave me the PIN, while the 508 didn't. But, it was able to unlock the steering and I didn;t need a PIN. So I guess it either bypasses the code or knows it but won't give it to me. It only learn the immo chip in the key(this car has a slot), but the proximity part didn't work, even though the buttons did work on both fobs. Very strange. The launch did it in a few minutes. Anyways, I'll be around more now that you have the same tool since you do a lot more keys than I. Hopefully you'll post more vids about programming with the new autel. Thanks again!
Sounds like the reader is bad. Mine has detected all different types. It was the first thing i did when I got it back to check to make sure it was working. I would contact autel.

Sounds like you had the wrong remote then Thats what usually happens when its the wrong one The chip programs but other functions do not as its not talking on the correct frequency
All these brands are "knock offs". Autel has built a business off of it.. but they make good stuff for the money. Autek... who knows, prob the same Chinese company at the root. This is what Asian countries do. Take white people inventions. Then make a sweat shop of low paid people.. and "for the money".. it's usually better considering. But im sure you knew that
AUTEL is a con game. I bought a Maxidas 708 and it was running well until I updated it and lost most of the functions it came with. I did the same mistake again by buying Maxisys 908 Pro and it was awesome working with it until I updated it and lost all programming capabilities and all vehicles older than 2010. Now they want US$120 to put back where it was. I would recommend XTOOL AutoProPAD for key programming and XTOOL H6 Pro Master for diagnosis. I have purchased them and so far so good their updates are awesome, they don't down grade the tool but make it better. AUTEL seems like a con game through my experience, they sell you a packed tool then they down grade it and ask for ransom to put it back to it's previous status.

After updating it lost all vehicles models that were manufactured before 2010 and in some it retained few systems that it could access. I contacted Autel about it and they suggested I pay $1200 to get back what I had bought. To me this looked like a con game where one sells you a product and then retrieve some of it later without your consent and ask you to pay to get it back. I used to hold Autel products with prestige but their way of working is appalling. Lately I was shopping for a professional Key programmer when I came across Auro OtoSys IM600 which to me looked good enough to do what I wanted then I came across information that the machine has been bought by Autel and I decided not to buy it, I shopped further and I came across XTOOL 100 PAD2 and I bought it and it is performing awesomely. For Diagnosis and systems analysis am settling for XTOOL H6 PRO MASTER to replace Maxisys MS908. AUTEL screwed me up by downgrading my tool.
I update my Elite all the time. Many things have changed since the ds708. I update my snap on zues and Bosch ads too they don’t take away anything anymore that was a law suit. No way you lost anything with the 908 that it came with
@@Josstech98 I had heard a similar report from a friend with a 908. He was able to program Nissan's prior to updating and then lost it. We compared the content from my (non-updated machine) to his, and sure enough they had deleted some of what he had. When we are paying somewhere between $700 and $1,300 to update, we should not be losing functionality.

Just starting out and don't Want to be cheap as there's competition around and I have a strong automotive diagnostics, programming background along with Auto repair so expanding into this area but don't Want to do it for cheap as equipment, insurance, bond, supplies, business related expenses, vehicle expenses and all that have to be covered as well.
Tool is not so good as described, most of cheap tool suport more function then this tool like vcds due better job then this tool don't suport lot of function for citroen and peugeot
