A thought that occurred to me when you showed the old knob: is the rough exterior maybe for grip with greasy hands? Also, nice job with the audio mixing on this one.
It's possible, I guess, but it really just looks like a crappy casting to me. Either way, I knew it wasn't something *I* wanted to be touching, no matter how greasy my hands were. And thanks! :)
