I am glad you are loving the Hellgrammite! It is great seeing people out there having success with it and loving the product as much as I did when developing it! Tight lines! 🎣
i know the feeling! If you fish for panfish, i recommend trying my jigs (in description). You, as someone who appreciates pretty things, will surely appreciate them. The ONLY nice panfish jig in USA!
I really like those, too. That copper creek color looks really nice. I bought several packs of them a couple months ago. I also love that they don’t melt if you throw them in a container with other soft baits. Those bass sure seem to enjoy them!
Lost count of the number of times the lock horn has scared the crap out of me when fishing the dead lock. I came to the conclusion a long time ago that the majority watch a channel for entertainment. Very few are learning anything on how to fish. Watched John for years...just to see where he goes next. Meanwhile waiting on my boat so I can get back to fishing. Hope all is well....
Gotta change the hook set for these bigger fish or bass to lock it through their thick lips. Sweeping back over shoulder, and also continuous tension and reel and fast retrieve back to keep the tension on.
i been jacking them hard : ). Problem is that they cut even my leader, which is 4 lb invizx, which usually holds very large catfish. But catfish is kind of slow constant pressure. Here there are critical points and my line gets cut in these critical points. I think my leader needs to be at least 6 lb if bass fishing is main target
I agree much easier to rig than the Nikko. I hate the hook keeper everyone seems to want to add to there jig. I usually use wire cutters to trim the bend off, I then wrap some braid around the hook shank, and use crazy glue once I get the bait straight.
I have seen japanese jigs with acceptable hook keepers. Like all things, they can do them thinner and better. The hook keeper was very thin wire and had small barb and when i put the lure didn't distort the shape of the lure. But the ones here in USA are made LITERALLY of coat hanger wire that is just U-turned at the end. You get ONE shot to put your lure correctly. If not, and try to back out, it will tear ur keitech, so u r better off fishing it crooked until it comes off. I like to install the lure perfectly on my jigs, and will back it out and reinstall it if i don't like it. When i finally like it, i superglue.
i don't fish for bass, and until now the only bait i had confidence in for bass fishing was the keitech. But now this too. Its not too big even for the smallest banks. I got a bunch of dinks on it since that video, and one big catfish. What i like the most is how pretty it is. Absolutely real!
Hey Victor like the looks of those hellgramites. I picked up a tackle box and choice lures at a garage sale. One is a Finnish minnow circa 1960ish.maybe. It's name is Kasin Tehty Palsa Uistin. It's in mint condition and the box very good. Have you heard of these in your travels. Any others including a 3 oz. Gibbs jig head. Gonna catch some nice cod fish on that one. The tital cost brand new for all would be $200. I paid $33. Interestingly a dozen Little Cleo trout spoons that must be good as he had so many. All the gear was owened by a old commercial Salmon troller as he had good tast. I didn't buy the 200 Partridge brand 7/0 and 8/0 Siwash hooks for $5.00 as I don't go out Salmon fishing any more. Looks like you have a good bite going in there.
Good haul, Bobby. This video was at the end of a long day. I was very close to the ramp but decided to try the new helgies i just bought on that concrete wall, and i got so many fish in 30 mins that decided to make its own video..
Like I mentioned sometime back , you guys are lucky. Your fish take everything. Even the kitchen sink. We in Malaysia are not so lucky. We don't have small mouth, big mouth, crappie or blue gill where they take everything.
i dont think thats the best application unless u cast them around rocks by the bank. This lure has a big body and is not a deep-water lure. I takes forever to sink, and if u put heavy jig then doesn't look good while sinking, and they almost always hit on the fall. I fished pretty deep here, so obviously it will still work, but it worked even better in shallower water, tossing right in front of some tree, where fish are used to insects falling in the wter
@@ifishcatfish I fish really shallow rocks for smallmouth in the boat no deeper than 10 ft over by east Chicago it has a nice shallow rocky shoreline there I usually use a trd ned rig and a 1/ 15 oz jig head so I think these should work I'll let you know I'm going this week we finally have good winds for the lake it's been a cool summer here
I have used these while sight-fishing trout and smallmouth bass. I notice that they react very aggressively towards a hellgramite. Almost like a territorial reaction. Wondering if you or anyone else has noticed this. I live in Las Vegas and fish in Utah as well.
I like these more thank Nikko. They are more beautiful. I enjoy rigging them and looking at them and i believe they feel more natural during bite. I think the cost is about even for both, when u factor out everything...
