All you have to do is enable low latency monitoring.... I don't even touch the buffer setting. That's what the Apollo is for... So you can monitor at near zero latency.
He’s aware of the low latency monitoring capabilities of Apollo Twin. He monitors through his daw because he often likes to input monitor through other third party plugins. The Apollo Twin’s direct monitoring is only useful if you are monitoring only UAD/UAD2 plugins.
Pretty dope.. nothing better then the ua apollo twin.. it's not even fair as far as portability, latency, tracking, console, plugins, shit I can go on and on.
So when U record from console into you’re daw are u just monitoring with those plugs or are u recording the effects of those plug ins into you’re daw so while I’m mixing for example I wouldn’t be able to remove reverb from console ?
Can you do a vid on how you set up the apollo with pro tools and do the monitoring how you set it up? for some reason I can't mute the channel in the apollo console and still get a signal coming through.. basically how are you monitoring it through pro tools to just highlight record button and be good to go? maybe can just explain quickly.. please help with this.. EREZ yes, the record enable will let signal through if your UA Console input channel is muted. Basically, that console fader for the input is ONLY for monitoring. So right after the UA console Inserts of the input, the signal ends up in Logic, and you have to record enable the track to hear it. There is a video on somewhere that shows how to add an Aux channel in Logic and this becomes your source for you recording channels in Logic. This Aux channel is fed by the UA Console.
I’m having an issue with my Apollo Twin X, My Mic Volume moves by 5db. How can I adjust mic volume to my liking without locking movement by 5db? Some please help!
Yeah man, I was like... "What?!!!" You're supposed to turn off monitoring in your DAW and monitor through Console and the Apollo. I think he just doesn't know, because that is one of the primary, like the very first reason, to have an Apollo!
I’m having trouble installing drivers for my Apollo MKII on Mac Pro running Sierra 10.13... I allowed for the installation in preferences security but it’s still not recognizing driver???
Do have a tutorial or can you make a video with using the Apollo Twin MKII QUAD. I have a IMac, Protools & MPC Touch. UAD has Not Put Any tutorial that are useful. Such as do I setup my (Digital Input) at ADAT OR SPDIF. (MON LEVEL) ie; 20 dbu. Etc. Anything you do would be helpful.
@JordanCriddle how exactly did you get your mic input to read -45db? My Thunderbolt Apollo mic input level doesn’t show like yours even though it’s the same Console Software. Please help.
A little off topic but what's your headphone routing for your talent I've tried out 3/4 to a HP amp that's pretty straightforward but I was told I could get individual mixes per user using aux track configuration I've got the Twin Duo and 2 pair each Beyerdynamics DT 770 closed cans in 32 and 88 ohms
Hi Jordan. =) Thanks for putting up tutorials. I have recently got sold an Avantone PS12 mic, Millennia preamp (one channel) and an Apollo UA Twin. I then realised that I could actually buy virtual preamps from the console using the Apollo. Yes, there isn't any Millennia preamp in the console. but is it worth it for me to doubling the equipment, where I can equally get similar standard stuff using virtual preamps for one third the price? or is it true like the salesman said Millennia gives the clearest tone that I am looking for and I can use the console for plug ins. ( He did not mention I could use Console as pre-amp) Is he trying to be deceiving ? i can still take the Milennia back, I might just need to pay for shipping cost and testing cost... Looking forward to your kind reply. =)
Hey dude why does the 610 B sound muddy and flat when I have it on my vocal chain, for a while I was recording without that preamp on the mic channel and then once I added it it made my vocals sound monotone now.... ???? I'm using the default setting with the preamp by the way. I tried the presence setting and it is a little better but it still is quiet the vocals sound flat.

Music Sound Both Hi... I can answer that...UA will give you about 5 or 6 free plug ins but give you free demos to check out all of them. Once the demo is done (I have yet to try one but I was told it's two weeks), you have to purchase it. Some of the ones you get bundled with the Apollo are good enough, so start with those and play around with the demos when you have the time. The good news is that you can stagger the demos; once you start using one on Day 1, you can still use others on subsequent days for the full 14 days after that particular plug-in's first use. Hope that helps.
Maximilian Ikarus I plugged it into the other input and it sounded a lot better. Could be a fried outlet maybe it was plugged in hot and got fried idk but yeah the other sounds way better.
I cannot get an input to display on Console or Ableton. My apollo twin shows a level coming through on the PHYSICAL interface itself but nothing on my computer. Hours of installind and uninstalling. Different mics, cables, preamps. Nothing. Ive gone through all of the tutorials and i cant figure out why i cant get an input. Please help!?
