My dude. I've owned an Apollo Twin for too many moons to not have realized this was how you properly utilize the console app. But, a day where you become less stupid is a better day than the one before it. THANK YOU.
Same here. Put it aside for a long time, but upgraded to a rackmount apollo so didn't have the choice to learn Console. Damn...I beat myself for not doing it earlier. It is SO powerful and great sounding.
I’ve listened to a number of UAD Twin/console explanations and Wayne is the first cat to explain it comprehensibly. It helps to give historic perspective and when he did, it all made perfect sense. He’s also the ONLY cat who explained why the light ring went from green to orange. Gotta get me that “Be Dope” hoodie! 👊🏿
I just got the twin as a birthday present literally yesterday and honestly, no disrespect to other interfaces, but now I don’t want to go back to recording without using console!
Keep it up my guy u tbeen teaching me for years any and everything I need to know I watch your videos out of all the searching u always have a answer 🙏🏿 man keep up the teachings
Then you realize you sank all that money into something you can't upgrade. Apple went all the way down the rabbit hole and through a big old party there. Too bad they didn't listen to their pro customer base.
Aaron Holder I’ve had my Mac for 5 years and Apple still offers me 75% of what I paid for credit towards a new one, it still runs like new and I could upgrade easy for a very inexpensive price if I wanted to, when I was on PC I had to get a new laptop every 3 or 4 years bc the processing wasn’t powerful enough for new apps, Apple is 100% better value than PC and what you said Is false
Thank you! I have been doing music for ears but never recorded my own stuff. Now that I am learning this was very helpful, still running around like a chicken with my head cut off but falling in love with the process. God bless man!!
Just bought my Apollo twin. this was perfect for helping me understand the routing of UAD to pro tools! thanks bro! hope to see more UAD tutorials from you
Thanks, you answered a nagging concern! I just got my Apollo Twin and I was worried about using my Waves Tune Real Time plug-in at the Pro Tools level while recording with the UAD Console. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
Great video my man. Well spoken. Clear and detailed. No fluff. I dig. I'm on the cusp of ordering an X4 myself so getting acquainted with the UA environment.
I didn't like you at the beginning of the video when you was acting sensual but I thought I should endure through and I'm glad I did. Learned a lot from you and you awesome, man! Thanks for this! Make more!
Love your stuff man!! followed you on instagram as well - keep killing these videos! Keep the logic stuff coming. Would love to see how you setup and run Logic/Apollo Twin together!
Your ass crazy wavy but I wanna say brother I’m proud of you because I did my research bro and u coulda been sold out for pennies but u went ownership to get further . I appreciate u showing us not to give up because wave u has grown a lot big Dawg in all different areas
Good look Wave... I’ll be picking up the Twin Quad Heritage next week and your mentoring has definitely fulfilled my inquiries in regards to my PT 11... Great Job. I appreciate you.
Man, I love the way you explain things. I've watched a thousand videos looking for specific info and when I get back to my studio I'm still confused because either they went too fast or assumed too much about what hardware and software people might be using. You broke it down clearly and simple like I'm sitting in the studio with you asking questions. Keep that vibe man, but stop dissin' Windows users. LOL. But then again, you STILL came up with the Windows key command. Good stuff! I'm about to check out your IG.
Hey man your work is immaculate I really appreciate how you put it down when I’m looking for something 98.9% of the time I’m looking for you to find out what’s really going down thanks for all you do man stay safe much love Dr Tracks
Thank you wavy Wayne, well done. I'm thinkin' hard about getting one maybe the Twin X soon. Love the concept. I'm an analog old timer, hell you weren't even born yet bro. ha ha great channel :)
Very good I must admit I though I was the only or first one doing this type virtual chanel strip thingy. UAD did wow..... 'Better to get it right before you start'. Is one of my great philosophy, I do noise gate, dessers and eliminate generally notorious bad frequencies a bit including preamp and compression and BAM the recording can start with all that printed..... But I learn a hard lesson that many or you may not know about all these chanel strip effect before hitting your DAW and how to know for if it's also doing some damaged without you knowing....If you like to know... then ask and it shall be given. But amazing content...you got there...bro...
Thanks Wayne! I now know that I don't have to record the pre-amp effects. You know how it is, you record a vocal a few times perhaps and tweak the effects until you get the sound you want. I guess after a few weeks of working on the right pre-amp sound for your vocals, you may commit to audio. I'll be going for the Apollo Solo TB3.
Fire video bro I have the same set up but I’m running three monitors so I don’t have to switch back-and-forth all apple. It’s a lot easier with multiple monitors but I love the video keep up the good work
It took me like 6 hours to get the hang of this thing. I got the twin x yesterday and finally found this video i was looking for after I’d already figured it out. Only problem I’m having now is that i keep running out of cpu power cuz I’m used to recording at 64 on my buffer settings. I had to up it to 1024 samples and start monitoring through the console instead of monitoring through pro tools. Other than that it rocks
OMG - Your personality is rocking man and thanks for your tutorial; it was edifying, fun and interesting. I wish you were my engineer. I'm working solo right now on my own projects; I'm a newbie gospel singer with a Mariah Carey like style but I haven't released anything as yet. Oh, by the way, I have decided to buy the Neve 1073. Thanks again :)
I have the same setup 😎 Your vids have helped me loads, what db should my mic be hitting when recording vocals ?? When tracking vocals whats a good amount of gain reduction ? Would love it if you did a video mixing rap vocals with uad plugins only 👍
Nice great can you expand on getting the everything set up for recording and stuff output sounds and inputs. You can use an iPad for second screen if you have one
Do you think the Uad arrow is enough for vocal recording only? im just worried that there is not enough dsp (im new so i just want to use some reverb and antares auto tune and a preamp) i dont know if i should add more than that? what do you think
That’s definitely enough for vocal recording. Mixing is another beast. But the goo thing is that you can link UAD interfaces for the DSP and inputs. So you can get that and upgrade later.
