I needed to get a trailer aid for my horse trailer. We had a pole building built and my farm boy brain said.; I bet we can make one out of one of the pieces of 6 x 6 posts left over from the build. So i took a 3 foot piece got out the chainsaw and freehand cut one out with tapers on both ends. Took another piece of 6x 6 and made an in between axle wheel chock. They have worked great and they only cost me the gas to run my saw. So far as you not being able to get you axles high enough, could you stick a piece of 2x6 under one end of the trailer aid to get more lift?
You should go to the plug on your truck and check to see if you have power there. Press the brake and use a test light to see if you have power there. Keep tracking it back to the axles to see if you have power.
