I started running a open animal.its nothing fancy big valve head ,356 cam.first four stroke ive ran in 10 yrs.but i ran the other night turned 8600 rpm all nite and dropped teeth along the way.but i need to drop more im thinking i need to be down on a 11-60 or 11-61.but i am unfamiliar with the engine.but i do know its built for short track racing..so i may be able to go a tick lower on gear than this.ill have to experiment
@@kart6t3_ben i like that idea.to be honest.i did call the guy who supposedly built it.he said its probably built for a short track.and when i got it i took it down rd it would only turn bout 8800 at max.im on a 11 driver and i think best idea may be to go to a 12-65 and give that a try maybe.i bet im on down side of the powerband.and yes it is lighting the tires up coming off the corner.
I’ve never had a torque converter kart so that’s hard for me to answer. The 10t suggest it should be ok but if not raise the rear gear to help hills. Again I’m just guessing.
I always wind up getting beat by the same gear ratio,,,,,, but they made their gear ratio with a different combo of driver and axle gear. Gear ratio is almost thrown out the window.
A gear ratio is a gear ratio too.dont let em fool ya and think different.say a 10-50 and a 12-60 they are both 5.00 overall gear ratio.i see em everyday in a factory.what can change tho also is tire size.tire size affects overall ratio.say 33.25” tire vs 34” tire the taller tire will result in greater top speed..
