Quick Tips - Snapshot tool in 3DS Max

In this Quick Tips we go over how to use create a chain in 3D Studio Max using a spline and the snapshot tool. This can be used to create many other things along the lines of streetlights, crates, and many other useful sets.

when I apply the snapshot, the pieces dont copy next to eacht other, theres an offset between them and i dont know what causes it

Inefficient method, too many labor work. Better use - Spacing Tool (from the Edit menu). Best use - RailClone plugin (free version allows rendering only).

netgoblin I do love the railclone plugin personally, but it wouldnt work if you wanted to make something in game. I didnt know about the spacing tool but Ill be sure to check it out.

Haha, he just stated his way of doing things. You stated yours once, no need to push it dear. He explained fine and well and his way of doing this work. More labour doesn't necessarily mean more unnecessary things to do while reaching your goal. :)
