UPDATE SUNDAY 4/21/24 @ 3:45 PM US CDT: Dr. Dan is getting incrementally better, and as someone said, better is better! He still has fatigue & weakness, but that is slowly improving, and he is in strong spirits. 💪 He’s been doing liquid diet, but now is carefully transitioning to full liquid, with soups, etc. Sleep is improving; no Tylenol in last 24 hours; Heart Rate Variability is coming up (according to Garmin watch); cough is abating; taking brief walks in the breezeway & getting sun on balcony. We even did “Movie Night” 🍿last night. He likes watching “Alone” because it’s people toughing it out with scarce food supplies-hunger pangs-so relatable-brings things home. 😥 Actual clinical trial to start on April 30. Glad to hear Dr. Dan is recovering albeit slower than he’d like. I’m sure he knows he’s definitely NOT “Alone,” with thousands of people from around the world supporting his return to full health. But ok, he can watch the movie anyway! He is an incredible motivator for all of us facing challenging health issues. When we get down, we just think “WWDDS - What would Dr. Dan Say?” You can bet it’d be inspiring and panda positive! Thanks again Panda Mom for the update. Take some time to rest yourself.
The body is absolutely incredible. Recovery and strength with every day. We are tough cookies! I think of myself as Dan's 'older sister'. We do have the dogged determination 'mom'! Bless you both!
UPDATE SUNDAY 4/28/24 @ 12:35 AM US CDT: Hello PandaPeople 🪽🐼🪽 Dr. Dan is walking more and eating more, and that is good news! His best friend Jess came over for “Movie Night.” (Another episode of “Alone,” of course. 😀) He felt up to visiting, which was wonderful. 🙏 He sends you all love and wants you to know he appreciates your *continuing* care so much! He wants to get back to doing his weekly visits with you just as soon as possible-he misses you! 🤗 Much love to you all. ❤️🐼🙏❤️

UPDATE SATURDAY 4/20/24 @ 12:15 PM CDT: Even when “Dr. Panda” 🐼 isn’t up to doing a “Lovestream,” his wonderful Panda Family just keeps sending him Lovestreams back! ❤️🐼🙏 Actually, it just was a CT and exam yesterday, and the actual trial will be starting on the 20th-I misspoke earlier. It’s just as well, as it gives him more time to adjust to his changing needs and gain more strength. I told him today that the phrase that comes to mind when I watch him go through his day is, “dogged determination.” So he is still taking things in baby steps, but feels he’s finding a workable pattern, thankfully. Hi I found it. Sorry. I really hope . The cough has eased up, I'm sure coughing would not feel good after tummy surgery. Plus hopefully eating a bit more what was hoping for. I'll keep praying im sure all the panda family will. Sending those hugs and lots of love ❤ to you all.. Just take it easy. I know apparently I should practice what I preach. Here's something to giggle. I went to try get in on a runner sale. Tried to explain I can't bend and I can't lift my right leg. First place I've ever been where they sit in front of you with those special stools to put your foot on so they can put your shoe on. Lol she kept handing the runner to me to put on.well now I'm in a full backbrace from neck to my bottom. Don't think I'll try runners there again. No I didn't get. Barely could walk out.what a pretty picture not. Drs keep saying i really need to change my worn runners but they are a bit expensive for me so waited for sale.Hope you got a chuckle how stupid I am not to push more for help.lesson learned. UPDATE TUESDAY 4/23/24 @ 10:30 PM US CDT: 🪽🐼🪽 Panda Angels, Dr. Dan had an even better day today, thank God (or however you prefer to call the Love that obviously speaks to human hearts like yours). ❤️ His colostomy is seeming to be coming back online and flowing much better. This is a tremendous relief. After Movie Night 🍿 this evening, which was another episode of “Alone,” he said, “Mom, I feel like I just caught the 40” pike!” (Starving fisherman reference, for those who haven’t seen the series.) He has been continuing doing gentle laps on the breezeway, adding gentle rebounding for the last two days, which also seems to help. His Heart Rate Variability (HRV) continues to stay up in the green zone (good). He has also been irrigating the colostomy, which has helped also. A “flock” of six or seven different kinds of birds landed at the same time on “our” tree by the balcony today, right in front of him. Unusual and special. Also, very special, Dr. Dan has a new little great nephew by the name of Jack Thomas now, and he really needs to meet him! (He lives in Washington State, where Dan and his brothers were born.) I continue to pray for all of you wonderful people, you are an incomparable gift, and when I get wobbly, I remember you. May you all be blessed with what you want and what you need, to overflowing, and may your tribe increase and bless many other people also! And, you know, whatever the outcome here, this has brought forth the good in so many people, and this Panda Family is a miracle all by itself. ❤️🪽🐼🪽❤️.
UPDATE MONDAY 4/15/24 8:00 PM US CST: Thank you all for your continuing love, concern, prayers, good wishes and good suggestions-you are amazing! ❤️🐼❤️ Dr. Dan is still recovering from surgery and adjusting to his new way of life. As Tonya and several of you have said, living with a colostomy has its ups and downs and takes time to figure out how to manage. It’s a challenge. He is getting out and doing some sunning and “earthing,” which seems to help his energy and digestion. His new trial begins Friday. Love and prayers for you all! ❤️🤗🙏🐼❤️

Amazing man. Incredible attitude and strong and brave. He speaks as if he is describing a patient. He seems free of emotion and fear. He is human- he must have those feelings but he walks a higher path. Must be very comforting for others going through similiar challenges- seeing how brave he is.
UPDATE TUESDAY 4/16/24 @ 8:45 US CDT: Hello, Panda Angels. 🪽🐼🪽 Dr. Dan is having the same issues with the colostomy as he had with the ileostomy-lack of flow, which leads to misery, which some of you may have experienced also, unfortunately. He said today that his goal is to do a “Lovestream” Saturday, sick as he feels. I reminded him how many of you have told him to take it easy, no hurries. ❤ He is the soul of kindness and patience through all of this, and I am so thankful that his sharing has helped his Panda Family in their hard days also. But you do you-not everyone can be as stoic as Dr. Dan (including me). You’re perfect the way you are! 🙏🤗💕 I pray hard for you all, too. ❤️🐼🙏❤️

UPDATE THURSDAY 4/18/24 9:00 PM US CDT: 🪽🐼🪽 Thank you all so much for just…everything! ❤️ Dr. Dan is doing baby steps to get his strength back on track. It is very slow going and uncomfortable adjusting to the colostomy. He is just having elemental nutrition and water for the time being. Brief walks in the breezeway. Sunning on balcony. He is scheduled for a CT scan early tomorrow, and starts the trial Friday. Thankful and praying for all of you precious people. ❤️🐼🙏❤️

Tia, you are the most precious "Mama Panda" taking such care of "baby Panda" I personally don't have cancer but I have family members and friends who are survivors which still make us Pandas for life. I stumbled upon your channel today and only now have learned of your cancer battle. I am so sorry. I wish you the very best. I'm glad you got to enjoy the eclipse along with most of the US today. There's just something healing and soulful about getting to share an experience like this together as a collective people. I hope that this day brought you some of that healing energy.

UPDATE SATURDAY 4/13/24 @ 3:15 PM US CDT: Panda family, thank you for your love, patience, well wishes, prayers and concern! ❤ ❤❤ Dr. Dan hopes to do a live with you all just as soon as he gets a bit more 🐼energy going. 🤗 He’s been officially accepted into the new immunotherapy trial as of Friday, and will start treatment April 30. He wants to build up his strength and work out his dietary plan until then, which is a process. My apologies for being tardy in checking back in. 💙 He has been feeling not the best for a few days, but now he’s able to get some sun outdoors, which is wonderful. Love to all. ❤️🐼❤️

Your spirit is brilliant, Dan! I got my own personal wakeup call some 23 years ago in a motorcycle accident, leaving me paralyzed at the t6 level. My journey has been amazing since then, learning more about the true message of the Bible. We're dual in nature, flesh and spirit, with the flesh being temporal and the spirit eternal, made in Father's likeness. We grow in our physical journey in life, not yet fully aware of our spiritual nature. At some point we awaken to the "Light" of our spirit and crucify the carnal nature of the flesh, now making the flesh a servant of the spirit. Christ literally lived out this very thing, living as the Son of Man prior to the crucifixion and the Son of God after. We have something amazing waiting on the other side of this physical realm. This physical earth is incredibly beautiful, which makes me wonder about the beauty that awaits in the eternal realm. Hope all is well Dan!
