Yup they rise up and pull down into the ground with the frost heaving. Twisting the floor which twists the walls and the roof... Ah just adjust the screws again.. It sounds great for non-frost zones..

The frost zone in the UK rarely reaches a depth of 300mm. The QuickJack system sits below the front zone and is not affected by frost heave or seasonal movement. Our new system for larger buildings penetrates the ground to a depth of over 500mm for areas with a deeper front zone.

I don't trust the settling into the ground. Not just down, but sideways. It doesn't take much. It would be better to make traditional stone blocks adjustable somehow.

Everyone saying this is over priced? however, inst it a much cheaper alternate to laying a big concrete foundation? i mean, i'm no builder so don't know... but surly it's cheaper and more convenient as they can be moved also. And you don't have to dig a hole + saves time.

You are very correct with that comment Jack, sometimes individuals only consider the initial charge of something and don't include the additional costs incurred for example with concrete, the spreader, labour etc needs to also be paid for!

These can be used for almost anything...as long as you don't mind it slowly sinking into the ground

Hi Greg, you're right. It can be used for almost anything, as long as you remember to position the QuickJacks closer together if it's used with a very heavy object such as a hot tub. We can also supply them with oversized bearing plates to spread the weight on soft ground. In either case, they can be jacked up after the weight goes on... ideal for any future adjustment.

This was great, been searching for "should i treat the inside of my shed?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Damkietor Nonpareil Dominion - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is an awesome one off guide for building better sheds and woodworking without the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my buddy got excellent results with it.

I want to put a shed on an uneven patio. It seems that I would need to drill holes through the concrete for the screw to go down into. Is that how it's intended to work?

What kind of brackets would be used for a 10×14 shed. The one I'm building, has 5) 4x4s running lengthwise and on top of that are 2x4 floor joists running widthwise. I guess I would need brackets for the 4x4s? Or are the 4x4s even needed at this point?

@paulashton473 bought the kit for a 14x10 (12 screws/plates in total, 6") back in May. Had my workshop sitting on it for 4 weeks now and no signs of any significant movement. Adjusted 2 or 3 of them after putting the workshop on but they've been brilliant and saved a lot of back breaking ground work 👌

I like the idea. But I built a 12X12 shed and placed it on 8X16 solid concrete blocks ( a pain to level all of them up). It hasn't moved. But I think in the future I'll dig 4 holes and pour concrete piers. Basically build a deck about 12" off the ground. That also helps when you have critters digging under your shed.. Undermining the foundation.. But I like the idea still.. :-)

I have an existing concrete pad 12x14 that is cracked and uneven due to the roots of a nearby tree. I want to put an 8x10 shed. Removing the existing concrete or even pouring new concrete on top costs a lot. Can I use this system for my project? I would drill holes through the existing concrete to install the system. Any other issues I might not have thought about?

+pa ma That's a standard floor from a wooden shed. Usually they are pre-made when you purchase the shed, but you could make it with some 2x2 battens and tongue and groove boards.

@@zhugeliang777 it doesnt need to screw actually ONTO the block its fine resting on them. What you need is a bigger deeper block. I would dig out around 30x30cm sq and 40cm deep and fill it with concrete. One pad on each screw. Adjust the screw to level. If you want to screw it to the concrete pad you can use rawlplugs and screws. The idea is to stop it sinking, not moving, so it would be ok to rest on concrete pads.

+RU-vid Tv I'm not sure about property tax legislation is in the U.S., however here in the UK, most buildings sitting on this base will be classed as a temporary structure, and wouldn't be subject to any additional tax.

How does this work for areas with winter frost lines?

When the ground swells with the frost (then falls as it dries), the QuickJacks will go with it, and they can be adjusted at any time by screwing them up and down if required (even after the building is assembled). The centre jacks under the floor can be trickier to get at, but they can still be adjusted using a wrench with an extension tube. P.S. We always recommend greasing the threads before assembling your building, as this makes the jacks much easier to adjust later.

Mr Benjibogs Yes, it would work OK as long as your ground is well compacted below the base plates, although you would need extra brackets. We'd also recommend using heavier 6"x2" timber for the frame.

Until you load the shed and they sink into the dirt. Useless idea. Level the ground and either lay a raft or get some shingle grids and put the shed on that.

Nah. The purpose of a foundation is to spread the load over a wider area, and often also to tie all the vertical support elements to prevent horizontal movement. This system does neither. Dig a trench, etc, like real builders. This is a toy, for the sandbox, not for a real floor for real humans.

And I didn't even mention STORMS. Side-load from the wind will just roll it out of the ground, and over the fence into the neighbours pool (if you're lucky). If you're REALLY lucky, the mother-in-law will be inside. Possibly in Kansas.

Your shed looks great! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! I built an 8x10 shed for my kids in my backyard earlier this year using plans I got from *WoodBlueprints. Com* Clear directions and an accurate materials list...It was great for a novice builder like myself!
