This movie had a certain charm and feel about it that really can't be reproduced without Robin Williams' iconic performance. I'm glad the newer movies went in a different direction and left thisone to stand on itself.

I admit that I've seen the sequel correction I've seen both of them I wished that they could have dedicated the sequel to Robin Williams instead all they said was Alan Parrish was here it's a shame they didn't do it in the beginning or the end where it says for Robin Williams.

Love the moment when Peter gets to the woodshed, sees it is locked, picks up the ax to break the lock and then after a minute he realizes he is holding the ax and looks at us like, "What am I doing?"

The special effects for this movie were amazing for it's time! I also remember my VHS copy had an advertisement for some kind of sound system that talked about how good the movie sounded in surround sound....

The original is still the best... One of my son's favorite when he was small.. we used to bond and do all sorts of things together.. hes all grown up now and hardly talks to me.. I miss him but he doesn't miss me.. he's not married yet..I miss those days

I used to have this movie on VHS and would play it over and over. Easily my favorite movie from my childhood. Robin Williams brought so much joy to my childhood and I'm forever grateful for it.

In the 1995 film, in the Parrish Mansion's attic, Peter Shepherd's last dice roll released a flock of persistent giant "JUMANJI" Spiders that attacked the players. Since Alan Parrish and Sarah Whittle were unable to move away after being frozen into the floor, the Spiders surrounded them and forced Judy Shepherd to beat them back. Alan sent Peter to get an axe to protect themselves, but Judy was shot by a Purple Flower that left the players vulnerable since Peter refused to leave his sister when she collapsed. Alan and Sarah were left to their fate as the Spiders closed in on them, secreting venom from their fangs, but because of the oncoming earthquake triggered by Sarah's last role, the Spiders finally sensed the oncoming threat and scattered off. Thanks to Alan Parrish's Token finally landing a winning roll and him calling out the name: "JUMANJI", the Spiders and other elements of Jumanji were taken back into the game, with the alternative timeline being undone and returned Alan and Sarah to 1969.

I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure whatever is under the surface of the quicksand is in a different dimension from the rest of the world, meaning if he sank completely he would have vanished from the world. The only reason his legs were sticking out of the ceiling a scene later is because the quicksand disappeared.

You know... if they would have just let him sink, he might have gone all the way through the floor, and just come out the other side, and landed on the floor beneath them and been fine. His legs didn't go to some kind of hell dimension, they're just sticking out of the ceiling now. Maybe it would have been best to let him go all the way. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess.
