I didn't even know he died so I looked it up. Cocaine overdose in 2007 is ridiculous. What they were famous in like 82 to like 85. You are out of this life style for a long time and had plenty of time to sober up. At 52 years old pulling this stunt and losing your life to it, well, whatever....
@@fairwarning4267 - Agree 100%. I think he was sober for a long time before he got back into the cane. According to Frankie Banali, he suspected him using only a short time before his deatb..He confronted him and of Kevin said he was only drinking. A shame.
My Dad drove the bus for the light crew on the Metal Health tour; He told be out of the whole band he and Rudy became close he would always tell me stories about hanging out on the days off and it didn’t matter what Rudy was doing, if he met a fan he was super humble and kind. In a batch of irony my dad had a home made leather straight jacket that he kept as a souvenir from the road along with things from other acts he worked with but as time went on he eventually got rid of it all. Then one day I happened to say “Dad, did you ever hear about a band called Quiet Riot?” And he told me the whole story. It’s a reason why I love the band so much.
An absolutely spectacular band, caught at the height of their powers. Kevin Dubrow was a first-class frontman who was a joy to behold. His voice was powerful and glorious, but it was also subtle and nuanced. And Rudy Sarzo was positively Entwistlian on bass.
@@2ndBackWall I mean, I had/have pictures of him from early quiet riot in '76 to '83 and like he changed drastically. I think it was from all the cocaine.
I just wrote they came to my college in the mid 90's. I think the cover charge was less than $20. It was the smallest crowd, the local college band would draw more people than Quiet Riot did. I remember at the same bar a group called Pearl River played and I thought it was a Pearl Jam cover band, it was country night from hell, you had every hill billy and hick decked out in cowboy gear and it wall to wall packed, Quiet Riot show I was in the front row it was maybe 4 rows of people in front of the stage, Couldn't tell you the songs they played.
28 mayo del 2021 Y seguimos disfrutando estás grandes canciones de quiet riot, gran banda que nos marco de por vida, los extraño y que en paz descanse descansen los integrantes fallecidos
just want to say if this concert footage was available back in the day, wow. Kids don't know how lucky they are now. Maybe not though - too "accessible"?
This was available back in 83 as it was shown on tv here in Toronto Canada and "simulcast" on the local fm radio station in STEREO!. I taped it on my Betamax and watched it a billion times over the next number of years till the video machine crapped out. Those were the days and also saw them live that year in Toronto opening up for Black Sabbath ( Ian Gillian on vocals) at Maple Leaf Gardens. Kids today don't even know what Rock n Roll is....so sad.
I am not to sure that Carlos wrote these songs because they are so flavored with early the Randy Rhoads style that Carlos never created on every other album.
Carlos was Randy Rhoads pupil, he said in a interview that he didn't want to try to sound like him because there is only one Randy, and yes Randy wrote most of their music
I can't help but think about all that music that was on MTV in the early days. And how those program directors. Thought We wanted to see a bunch of bulshit like... The Safety Dance. With fucking Madonna rolling around on stage talking about... Like a virgin. Not an actual virgin... Just like a virgin. But when they needed an actual audience... it happened at midnight on Saturday. Without Quiet Riot, without Van Halen, without rock and roll. All MTV had was a fucking Snooki.
