Miriam, these are lovely…and I admire your success using the 1mm paper! I also wanted to know what paper you used for the leaves (as did another subscriber). I watched that linked video, and now will try that myself. Thanks for all the valuable information you share with us. You are so talented! 😊
Thank you very much, Winona! 😊 1mm paper strips have been one of my favorite sizes to work with over the years. I'm glad to hear the video with the leaves was of help 🌱. Happy quilling! 😊
Oh, that's nice to hear! 😊 Thank you very much! This time around, I wanted to make a more close-up video of them. To make the glue, I just used simple rubbing alcohol / medicinal spirit.
Thank you very much ! 😊🌱 It's a handmade paper. I made a video specifically on the topic of "leaves" (the materials I use in order to make them). You can find a link to that video in the description box of this video.
Oh my goodness Miriam, these poppies are amazing. To make such large flowers with 1mm strips is very difficult and you seem to be able to shape and mold them like they’re putty, just astonishing. I have never tried quilling with 1mm strips as I even find 2mm challenging sometimes but maybe I’ll give it a try. I’ve been watching both you and Manuela quill with really narrow strips and you are both wonderful teachers. I love the black fringing on these too, again your patience and dexterity to get such thin fringing is remarkable. The time it must have taken to make these flowers and all those leaves makes this project a true labour of love! I often think poppy petals look like they’re made of paper and now you have made paper to look like petals! Thank you for sharing another wonderful video. ❤😘
Aww, thank you very much, Orla! I appreciate your kind words! 😊 What I love about quilling poppies is that I can play with shaping their lovely petals. Every time I make poppies, I feel like I want to make even bigger ones, just as a challenge, to see how they will look ;). But it takes a lot of time to roll all of those paper strips 🙈, and I have had a couple of the coils unravel when I was trying to shape them a little - good thing I was able to catch them before they completely unraveled... so this is one of the challenges! But I just love the end result, there's just something wonderful and unique about working with 1mm paper strips. Yes, Manuela's works are wonderful ! 🌟 She's actually the one who inspired me to try working with 1mm paper strips. I hope you try them out too! 🩷
Hello Miriam. You never stop impressing me. I wish I had the flexibility of your fingers and your level of perfection. Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful art work. If you happen to have time, would you consider showing us how to make tulips this way, and a bonsai tree? 😊
