Hello! I'm Miriam and I like to make handmade art, using paper as the basic material, in a technique called Quilling. On this channel I'll be sharing tutorials and also short clips of how I create my art. "Fun fact": I have a disability that affects my muscles but as much as I'm able to, I try to continue creating and sharing my art. So join me if you're interested in this type of content! :)
NOTE* You can make what you see in my videos, but only for your personal use. Please don't recreate my exact art pieces for commercial use. Thank you.
I've been slowly trying to make videos more often since the beginning of 2020.
Hello Miriam! I'm glad you're feeling better! I pray that you remain healthy and can continue with your work! It's good to see you back! Thank you for sharing today's!
Thank you so much, Nancy! 🩷 So glad that you enjoyed all the little details (those can be more meticulous, but the end result is worthwhile) and the colors 😊.
Absolutely wonderful Miriam, we’ve missed you on RU-vid so it’s good to have you back but take it easy if you’ve been unwell. Now, about this project… there is so much to admire and observe and learn. This is a supreme example of your unique combination of quilling and water colouring. The detail is astonishing and observation of shape and form and texture superb. The addition of the red strips inside the green and the asymmetrical shapes of the leaves of the money plant is perfect. The different widths of strips gives the piece a very realistic feel while still retaining a whimsical vibe. I can’t wait to see the rest of it! ❤😘
Hi Orla, thank you so much for the kind message and concern! 🩷 I'm doing much better and have definitely been taking it more easy these last few weeks 😊. But I'm happy to have been able to start working a little bit each day again. Being able to work is definitely a blessing! So glad you noticed all the special details of this artwork! I myself am looking forward to seeing the end result! 💚
Hi Fairy Hands! I would really like to be a Patreon so I can download this wonderful drawing! But, in any case, congratulations on another wonderful job. You always make me love Quilling more and more. Your art is something very special and beautiful. Thank you for your magical hands! ❤❤❤
Aww, thank you very much for the kind words, Iris! 🩷 I'm so happy my work makes you love Paper Quilling more! And, it's okay, your support simply by watching my videos means a lot 😊! Thank you! I might add the digital download of this painting on Etsy sometime in the future. I know there are people for whom it is easier to get it there rather than on Patreon.
Thank you very much 😊. At first it didn't work trying to print thicker paper (like the Arches watercolor paper). But my brother found a way to make it work. The printer I use is an Epson.
hi miriam. i adore your work and keep looking forward eagerly to your new uploads. so sorry that you were laid up. pray that you recover your strength soon and keep doing what you do best. God bless
Aww, thank you very much for your kind message, I really appreciate it! ☺️ I'm very happy that you enjoy the videos that I share of my Quilling projects. Thank you very much for the prayers! 😊 God bless you too!
Hii.... I was actually watching some quilling art and I got your channel.I was seeing some videos of your channel and I absolutely love it! And I also become your new sub!!!🎉 Can you make a tutorial of easy wall hanging in quilling papers cause I have a competition in my school...And also I have never did quilling so can you make something easy?!? Plss sister 💜
I have watched this video several times. Each time I notice something I did not notice before. Thank you so much for going to all the trouble of taking the videos and editing and posting them for all of us to enjoy. It is such a joy to watch them! God bless you!
also how do you end up using the individual flowers you made on some days. You made a bunch of really beautiful ones and I'm wondering what you end up doing with them. Do you use them on cards or make something else with them?
Thank you so much for the kind words, Lisa! It means a lot! 💛 In regards to your question, most of the cards I have sold, some of the individual flowers/leaves I've added to other projects. And some flowers I have kept for myself (the ones for which I used 3mm paper strips), to hopefully make a bigger collection of unique flowers :).
@@MiriamsQuilling That sounds wonderful. I loved some of those individual flowers you did but I always struggle trying to figure out how to use them. I have really been ending up doing mostly on edge quilling lately and love your squiggle flowers :)
how do you store your completed pieces until they sell? I have a box with the pieces I'm selling on Esty but I'm worried they will become dusty or even bend a bit over time. I'm curious how you store yours. Thanks and I do love watching every one of your videos. Even watching you package things makes me think about things I should do differently with my packaging.
I usually keep my finished pieces in a closet and in a bigger box. At my beginnings with paper quilling, I had problems with the glue I used, some of my pieces would develop certain problems from the glue. But I've found better glues over the years (through trying them out) and I no longer have those problems. I don't have problems with the dust since I keep my artworks in storage. But even if there is ever a tiny bit of dust, I just use a dry brush to dust off the tiny particles of dust.
@@MiriamsQuilling I think I just need a bigger box than what I am using. Obviously as you go along, you get more and more items to put away lol. I like the idea of a dry brush to get the dust off. I have seen you do that in your packaging video. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your advice with me!
I love the yellow squiggle flowers and the leaves! I am gonna have to try that sometime but I am not good at painting the floral backgrounds so I have not tried that kind yet where it has the painted background. It looks absolutely lovely though! I agree with the comment before mine that you have helped me improve my quilling. watching you has really opened my eyes to a lot of things I would not have thought of on my own. Thank you!
It was a privilege to watch you work your way through this card. Thank you for sharing your talents so generously. The lilac flowers on the left reminded me of wild asters.
