I love hearing about how you came into quilting and seeing your early projects. Your work is so inspirational. I’ll have all three of my kids in school in the Fall (6th grade, 3rd grade, and Kindergarten) and I’m looking forward to lots of extra time for EPP and possibly learning to quilt.
Loved your quilting video, Kristie! You have inspired me to get my (so far unused) Lori Holt books out. You have done so many beautiful ones! Thanks for the inspiration. ❤️ - Sheri
It is so nice to see a young new face. I started watching you after you were with Lori. Of course I am old and love to see young people bringing back the old. My grandma is where I started where she would take all the grandkids old PJ’s cut them up for quilts. Memories can make you smile. Keep it up you are great. Do what is in your heart. ❤️. Happy Easter. 🐣
Your quilts are beautiful! I'm now so inspired to start some of these projects of Lori Holts. First, I will order the books. Thank you for sharing. My mother was an avid seamstress and how I wish I could sit again in her sewing room and watch her again.
Oh goodie, more inspiration and reminders of things I need to finish or make 😂😂 Thank you for reminding me of our times of being together in Utah, a time in my life that proves that a dream can came true! Love you KO xxx
Hello sweet friend, oh, I came by to stitch and listen....then, your sweet spirit and smile slipped through the screen and SPLASHED me with goodness. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate your ideas, tips and inspiration. The colors seem to brighten my mood. Then you hit us with the Easter Egg ring story...... you had me smiling and teary eyed. You make Flosstube a better, brighter place to be. Thanks for making my world sweeter. (glad I corrected that, Thanks for making my world sweater doesn't have the same pizzazz! heehee) Happy Stitching, Happy Spring, Your friend, Daleen
Another great video! I'm new to quilting and really love Lori Holt's style and colors. One of my treasures is a box full of goodness with her prim village kit. I have only completed 3 quilts... one is for our dog Gracie, but of course -like you- I want to make the most complex quilts right out of the gate! Watching your video has inspired me to just get the Farm Girl Vintage book- some cheerful fabric- and make some project bags to warm up with. Happy stitching!!
What a fun video!!! I loved seeing all of your quilting projects and finished quilts; they are fabulous. I absolutely loved all of it. Thank you for sharing all of it with us. Happy quilting............
I love your first quilting video...I love everything Lori Holt...thank you for sharing all of your quilts and projects...looking to more videos about your quilting
I love Lori Holt everything and Civil War fabrics. I have no one in my family that quilted. I took one class and was hooked!!! I have 2 Lori Holt WIP..... Vintage Farm Girl, and Bee Happy. I need to get them both finished. Just found your channel and subscribed!!!

Hi Kristi! I love this video so Much! All of your projects are so beautiful and I love all of the stories you shared while showing your quilting projects! Please keep making these quilt videos! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I thought I loved your cross stitch videos but WOW!!!! I may love the quilt videos more, may until I see the next cross stitch video. Lol. Watching from sewing room. Thanks for all the inspiration.
Interesting to see your 1st video of quilts to the other one from a day ago! Wow Lori Holt lover! 😀 neat idea to make orphan blocks into project bags . This past year I've made up so many of my shop hop blocks that I collected from 2016- 2018? The Joe Morton colour pallet is so yummy and perfect 🥰 for fall quilts. Tfs
I have so enjoyed your video....loved hearing about your quilting journey and seeing your finished quilting and WIPS! I will be looking forward to seeing your next video!
Christi, I love that you are doing videos on your quilting. I am a big Lori Holt fan. My sewing your will eventually be Lori Holt inspired. I love how Lori designs a cross stitch pattern to go along with her quilts. I, too, am a Civil War Reproduction fabric lover. I made Eleanor Burns Underground Railroad quilt. I love Kansas Troubles. Made a quilt called Jitterbug using Kansas Troubles fabric. I have a huge bin of Civil War Reproductions and a huge bin of Kansas Troubles. One of my LQS is closing for good and my closest LQS is up for sale. I love to feel the fabrics and look at them. I am guilty, like so many, of buying fabric online. As long as I know the designer and manufacturer, it is so easy to order. FQS has the best customer service. Looking forward to your next “quilty” video. Happy Easter!❤️🧵🪡❤️
Loved watching your video, such a sweet story! Beautiful quilts too! Thank you for sharing! :) I'm pretty new to quilting and love finding new bloggers to follow!
Loved watching this video. I’m new at sewing/quitting in the UK 🇬🇧. Over here it’s not as a big concern as it is in America 🇺🇸. When I watch these videos I’m so envious of the choices and sewing 🧵 communities that are available to you. However watching this you have inspired me to push myself and give me confidence to up my game and widen my variety of quilting and sewing. Thank you 🙏 so much. Stay safe and well. Kind Regards Debbie.
I’m so glad I found your channel! I can’t remember who mentioned you but I’m glad somebody did. I love all your quilts. Lori Holt has certainly been an inspiration to many quilters and crafters. I also have a newish (less than a year) RU-vid channel called “All the Stitches with Colleen.” I hope you and some of your viewers will check it out. It includes quilting, needlework and knitting. Looking forward to your next video! 🧵💕
I am catching the Lori Holt sewing bug.... I’m cross stitching Sew by Row right now and as I do, I’m gleaning quilty knowledge from you 2! Great first quilt video 🧵 I learned a lot ♥️
Thanks for keeping me company while I bind a quilt today! Love all your quilt projects. I'm also a big Lori Holt fan and have made many of her patterns. A few years ago she had a vintage TV tutorial. I spent a couple years collecting vintage cartoon fabrics, like Bullwinkle, Jetsons, and Looney Tunes, and used those for the TV screens. The quilts were so cute! I didn't know about the current sew-along - will have to check that out.
Loved your new quilting video. I also made the #bestfriendsforever quilt but I used the 12” papers. I used bright colours and I love it. Just waiting for lockdown to be eased here in the UK 🇬🇧 before I send it to a long-armer. Looking forward to your next video 😀
Wonderful video! I enjoy your cross stitch videos and now I can see all your beautiful quilts and quilted bags! So inspired and motivating,I love both, and really appreciate and will look forward to all your videos! Your bags are so cute, and really loved seeing your works in progress..Civil war are some of my favorite too,and I love to appliqué...thanks for the awesome video!☺️
I really enjoyed you video documenting your quilting journey. You’ve inspired me so much so that I stopped the video to order Lori Holt’s Quilty Fun! My taste is exactly like yours...Love everything Lori designs as well as Civil War reproductions. Perhaps with a bit more practice I will get up the courage to post on Instagram also. Looking forward to seeing your next quilting video. I also cross stitch and follow you on floss tube. See you there! Thank you!
Loved this video! Keep them coming. I too quilt, cross stitch, wool applique, crochet, etc. Love Lori Holt. I love that she creates blocks in both 6 and 12 inches. It really gives us versatility. Love the Sew Your Stash Series. I made the Santa Hat quilt! It is so darn cute. I just got my first month's kit for the Sew by Row quilt-along. Can't wait to get started. Yeah!
Hi Kristie, Have loved watching your new quilting video and looking forward to future catch ups! My first Lori quilt was Row by Row from the cover of Quilty Fun. I was newish to quilting tho' not to sewing. I would say it is the best primer and skill builder project to do - in fact the whole book is. Was thrilled to meet you a few years ago with our mutual friends at a quilt retreat. Such happy times. If I'm feeling down I just call up the memory bank of those happiest of days. Keep up the great work! PS: A demo of the project bags would be great for a lot of folks!
As if you didn't have my heart looking forward to your Flosstubes (I am a very newbie x-stitcher) you REALLY have it now with your Quilting! I also started my quilting journey with Lori Holt books, fabrics and patterns. When I got my hands on the first Vintage Farm girl I thought I would never need another quilt pattern again because the possibilities were endless. LOL! You did a wonderful job with this and I loved hearing about how this makes you feel close to your mom. I made my first quilt for my sister right after my mom passed away and it really helped me get through a very rough period in my life. It truly is a therapeutic hobby for me. Thank you again for such a wonderful video. Cannot wait until the next one. Also good luck with your eye surgeries!
Loved visiting with you in your quilting world. You have inspired me to make more boards so can pre- cut my fabrics for my BOM’s. what size boards do you like to use. Because of exchange rates and postage I went with a shop in NZ for ‘Forever More’ quilt but they are still waiting for fabrics to arrive. Hopefully this comes soon so I can start. I’m also doing, for the first time Kim Diehl ‘Simple Whatnots’ program here as well. First one came the other day. Blessings and happy sewing.
Just love your Flosstube and now your Quilting. Could you please make a tutorial on how you make your project bags that Lori and Kimberly love so much. Thank you!
Awesome video on your quilt journey...lovely memories...this will be a great journey for all of us...I watched this video twice to make sure my notes were complete...love Lori Holt’s Bee in my Bonnet videos and looking forward to seeing your smiling face❣️
You are so talented!! Thank you for sharing your love of quilting with us! I am a longtime crossstitcher who is just beginning to try some quilting. I got drawn in a year ago when I saw previews of American Gatherings! My grandma and great-great grandma quilted and I have one of their quilts. I’m enjoying FQS and Lori Holt products as well as Lori’s latest fabric lines. I’ve made one Christmas very basic quilt top. Do you have any tips to share regarding space and storage? My craft room now has spread to a hallway cutting table and has taken over a guest bedroom!! I need to dial back and organize better! 😁
I happened upon your channel. I too love all Lori Holt quilts. I came to sewing and quilting through my family. Currently, I am doing a BOM at my local quilt shop that is Women of the Bible that is using Civil War fabrics. I look forward to more videos of yours. Wishing you a happy day of stitching and quilting
Just discovered your RU-vid channel by watching Lori Holt. I am a quilter and have so many WIPs I hesitate to start cross stitch. I enjoy embroidery and some of the quilts I have made but have never cross stitched. I set in my future however. My favorite quilters and stitchers to watch are FSQ, Kimberly Jolly and Lori Holt. You are now in that group. Looking forward to future videos. Love seeing your projects and listening to you.
Great video thank you for sharing your journey with quilting. You have so many amazing 🤩 quilts. I have never quilted before but your video is giving me the courage to maybe 🤔 start a project bag. Have a wonderful day and Happy Easter 🐰🐣
i stumbled across your channel and i am so grateful! You are the sweetest, when talking about your mom i teared up as well ❤️. I started quilting due to covid and like you (and i’m sure all quilters) i was hooked! i am a total Lori fan and often shop at FQS. I learned to quilt with Kimberly’s beginner quilt series and kit. I don’t have any of Lori’s books but you e inspired me to buy one. I do have her cross stitch cards though 🤗. Is the pattern of the “quilty little Christmas” in her book or did you piece all the blocks on your own? Wonderful video. I’m a new fan! ❤️
Hello! I love everything you make! I use to quilt but I found it so hard to maneuver the quilt and I couldn’t afford a long arm sewing machine. I use to tie my quilts. Now I cross stitch quite a bit. It is easy to take with you and they are easier to manage... I embroider and quilt smaller projects. I love seeing the WIPS you are working on! Happy quilting!
I thought your video was great. I love Lori Holt quilt patterns and quilts because she is so thorough on instructions, from cutting to pressing each block. My favorite quilt in my Farm Girl Vintage quilt from the first book. I immediately buy her books when they are published. I look forward to seeing your quilts.
Such an exciting Easter Sunday...double videos...thank you...i learned to,quilt from my grandma hand stitch...however since i found Lori Holt over a year ago my quilting has stepped up a notch...i love her fabric...i have commented to her utube channel ,that she needs to do a sheet set out of granny chic...lolo....i am hoarding that line....you and lori do motivate me to try new quilty things ..also i just got my happy mail with Loris pink holder..i love it......
Hi Christy, I enjoy all of your videos and I love cross stitch and quilting! I have only made a couple of quilts but not a formal pattern just my imagination but I’ve been watching all of Lori’s videos and am learning a lot. I do have a question for You-You said You sewed blocks together with the paper still attached and then You slowly take them out, Is it possible for You to show us that on Your next episode? Thank You for Sharing!
Ok so I am NOT techy... sent u a DM on Instagram re: a quilt edge finishing my gma always did.. love passing it on to you .. maybe someday it will Be just the thing for one of your quilts ❤️
Thank you Kristie for sharing you beautiful story of the love you have for quilting!!!! We both live within the same love of collecting antiques and I too collect vintage Pyrex. A couple of years ago I joined in on a quilt a long through RU-vid, first time ever attempting to sew a quilt, I did sort of great in that I finished all 42 blocks, but sadly the only reason it isn’t called a quilt yet is that not all my blocks made it to the right size. Remember, I had never done anything like this, so I’m a stand still not knowing how to fix the situation, this quilt also has sashing and cornerstones….I know you’re shaking your head at me, but gosh darn it, I tried! Much love, Tina! 💚
All of your quilts are stunning and the workmanship looks stellar! I want to make them all. LOL I’m definitely going to get the Lori Holt books you showcased. I love your quilt and cross stitch style and I always look forward to your videos. Take care!
I really enjoyed your video! Please make more! Your voice is soothing and your projects are beautiful! I’m a big fan of Lori Holt, and it’s great to see your finished projects. You’ve inspired me to sew some of my Lori-stash!
Oh you are just feeding my recent urge to piece like crazy! Haven't pieced recently... Best advice ever is as you said...spend time cutting out your fabric and then sew when you can. Took me a long time to learn that habit! I would dearly love to join you for you next Sew a long. Your an inspiration to me, thank you for all the time it takes. Take care, Christy ❤️
Love that you’re doing quilting videos too! Your style is my style in both areas! Am currently working on Lori Holts Flea Market sew along...and I’m behind of course...but am loving it so much. I had an issue with the first block and she was so kind to offer suggestions through IG messaging. Turns out it had to do with incorrect tools I was trying to use. And because zippers are not my friends, I’m making project totes using a block of hers on each side of the tote...so fun!
I’m so excited for you to start sharing quilting stuff on here! I saw you on Lori’s RU-vid a few months ago and subscribed right away even though I don’t do much cross stitch. I also love quilting for a connection to the past, although my mom and grandma were not quilters. My grandma was a nurse in the army during WWII and she told me for free time that could choose to learn to sew/quilt or to play bridge. She chose bridge and played that until the week she died at 92. I’ve just recently got the bug to make a civil war style quilt so I’m just beginning to collect books and fabric related to that. Looking forward to seeing more of your quilting!
I love all your quilts! Thank you for sharing them. Have you seen the Pyrex fabric? It's Vintage Hunt by Michael Miller. It may have been out for awhile. I just saw it the other day and I guess noticed it because I have a friend the also collects Pyrex. I'm going to have to make one of they scissor and spool bags. It's a perfect gift idea. I also love both Lori Holt quilts (she's such a talent and so sweet!) and the civil war/prim look. I have a couple Pam Buda kits I need to get busy and work on. I like your idea of cutting and setting everything up to have ready to stitch when you have a few minutes. Thank you for sharing!
Yay - thank you for starting quilting videos. Just finished our Easter get together and I got my stitching out and went outside on swing (a whopping 60 degrees here in RI lol). Anyway put on floss tube to keep me company while I stitched and saw your quilty one so of course I had to check it out. This morning I said I want to start making a springish quilt and took out Lori's Quilty Fun book and was thinking I would do the row one and take out the mittens at the bottom and add another row of tulips for last row like the first or put a row of bees in. Funny that you showed that book first. My grandmother taught me to quilt. On her bed was an entire quilt made of yo-yo's and another had a log cabin quilt block. She and I took a quilt class together many many years ago where we learned to cut templates from plastic, trace them and add 1/4" - now I'm showing my age. She also taught me to knit. Looking forward to more quilty videos from you. We all love everything Lori. Just ordered Flea Market and Granny Chic layer cakes last night. Found a quilt store about an hour away from me last month and pick up some flea market fat quarters and layer cakes of Prim an Bee Basics. I have a fat eighth of the autumn love and have been contemplating doing the autumn quilt you showed - that will require more fabric and the template shapes oh well lol. Happy Easter !!
Wow, wow, wow!! Your quilts are so beautiful and I feel so inspired to finish the quilts I have been working on. Thank you for sharing your sweet, wonderful memories. 😊
I loved your quilting video! You are very inspirational! I loved everything you have made. I too am a collector of Lori Holt books. I do not have quilt fun but I guess that will be my next purchase. Could you recommend what Lori Holt fabric would be good to buy to start making 6” blocks she showed theses hangings in her video yesterday. Also how much to buy to get a good start. I have some of her fabric but I need more. Any suggestions? Looking forward to your next quilting video!
I can't seem to find the Vintage Block quilt along Lori has. When I go to Bee in my Bonnett Blog, I only find the Flea Market Flowers QA. Can you direct me to the link for the vintage quilt, thanks!
I love seeing your quilts. I am particularly taken with your reproduction broken dishes block from Lori. You’ve inspired me to be better about the leader and ender technique. Thanks for all the eye candy, .
Hi Kristie, somewhere along the way I have become interested in learning to quilt, well actually I blame you and Salt Box Stitcher really 🤣🤣🤣 but I need to buy a new sewing machine. I was wondering what sewing machine you use and why you love it or maybe you don’t so much and wish you had something else. Would you be willing to share a little bit regarding this subject? Thank you. I always love and enjoy your videos but must admit they have been lacking in seeing sweet Gus.
Congratulations on your 1st Quilting video! I was so excited to see it and enjoyed very much watching! Your quilts are amazing and you are such an inspiration! Time to get started for me!💕💕
I loved this! I am also doing the vintage block along from Lori’s blog 😊. I have blocks 1 - 20 done but am stuck on the 4th July flag. As I’m in the UK I’d love to substitute it for a Union Jack so need to find a pattern for that and then hopefully I’ll be able to finish it this year! Also love your floss tube videos. You are such an inspiration! X
Hi. Congrats on a great video. I have recently become addicted to Lori Holt's work and fabric and patterns. I have made 2 of her quilts and am working on the Country Cottage quilt now. I am down to the fence and have had to do some "unsewing" along the way. I find it difficult to get them to come out accurately. Anyway, your video took me down memory lane and how I was all agog when I started quilting. I look forward to every Saturday to see what Lori is posting. Thanks for dropping by and I look forward to another video
I love seeing all of your beautiful quilts Kristie! And I have almost all of Lori’s books... except Quilty Love so I am definitely going to grab a copy because I now need to make a sewing machine mat for my featherweight! And your mom must be smiling down on you knowing that something she loved is now something that you love also. Nobody in my family quilts so I hope to pass down the love of it to my daughter. I’m being extra careful not to push but of course it would be so wonderful if she did. Hugs!
nice video! I’m also a huge fan of civil war and Lori Holt designs. Always watch her videos over and over. And just getting back in to counted cross stitch. Keep up the good work.
Love your quilts and your style of making your videos! I have watched all you Cross Stitch videos and sigh with envy and admiration for your finished and WIP projects. I love your taste and shake my head in amazement at some of the huge charts that you have stitched. Look forward to seeing your next video.
I have never made a quilt but I would love to start to making something small. Seeing your blocks for making project bags have me wanting to start. I love anything Lori so i want to start my bag with the apple, or tomato. I also was able to purchase the pink book stand....I love it! I’m afraid I’ll need to find a reason to purchase another one when they come out with a different color! Love watching your videos....this one it the greatest!!
What a lovely way to start my Monday! Cuppa coffee and your video. I am such a fan and now I can look forward to quilting and floss tube visits!!! I have recently started quilting again and just love the joy of sewing.
I was so excited to see you r now doing quilting videos, too. I have been following your floss tube videos since you started. Thank you for sharing all your projects. I, too, am a quilter and cross stitcher. Too many projects and not enough hours in the day. Thank you.
