I use the echo quilting foot with my Pfaff, makes it really easy and accurate. I’m sure most sewing machine brands offer one. Good investment if you like Hawaiian quilts and machine quilting.
this video is much appreciated for viewing live, as I am not able to see in person. I love your patterns but feel a bit intimidated. This gives me incentive to try your patterns and Hawaiian quilting. thanks marywallis
They are very fun to make and don't be intimidated. Pick one you love and give it a try! Remember we also have the DVD's on the website and they each come with a pattern. They walk you through the process step by step. Mahalo!
Having issues, I really need a video to show how to trace and cut. I can't see through my fabric to trace so I traced on the paper side of my fusible but it's not working out very well. Retracing the whole thing now. Very frustrated!
Hi Sandy, I am sorry you are frustrated. Here is the steps for making a 2 Fabric Applique by machine using fusible. Please follow these steps which are photos of the steps explained in the instructions. Here is the link: pacificrimquilt.com/blog/?post_id=174&title=2-fabric-applique-quilt-patterns-by-machine You will not trace it on the paper. Please follow these steps. It really is very simple just different from how you may have used fusible in the past.
Hi Sharon, if you can see the pattern through the Appliqué fabric(fabric with the border)you will tape your pattern to a window, light box or glass table with a light underneath. then place your fabric on top and trace the solid lines from your pattern onto your fabric. Since you will be doing needleturn you only need to trace the solid lines, dotted lines represent your turn under. If you can not see the pattern through you will use a chalk paper like Pattern transfer paper which works like old fashioned carbon paper, with fabric on the bottom then transfer paper then pattern on top. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I am the owner of Pacific Rim Quilt Company.
