Hello quilts friends. Today I am sharing this free quilt pattern using a panel fabric. I using traditional blocks to create a workable a pattern that work with this panel. The video shows you in detail on how to sew each block in this quilt. I have also listed the cutting below for you. I hope this will give you an idea for how you can use your panel in your sewing room.
Large center star block 24.5 inches
Background fabric
(A) 6 1/2” x 12 1/2”
(B) 4 - 6.5” squares
Red Fabrics
(C) 8 - 6.5” squares
(D) 1 - 12.5 center square fabric
You will need to make one
Medium Star Block 12.5” Square
Background fabric
(A) 4 - 3.5 x 6.5”
(B) 4 - 3.5” squares
Red Fabrics
(C) 8 - 3.5” squares
(D) 1 - 6.5 center square fabric
You will need to make
Heart Block 12.5” Square
Background fabric
(A) 4 - 2.5” squares
(B) 2- 6.5” squares
Red Fabrics
(C) 4 - 3.5” x 6.5” squares
(D) 1 - 3.5 x12.5 rectangle
(E) 1- 6.5” center square fabric
You will need to make
Churn dash Block 12.5” Square
Background fabric
(A) 1 - 2” x 26.5” strip
(B) 2 - 5”squares
Red Fabrics
(C) 1 - 26.5” strip
(D) 2 - 5” square
(E) 1- 6.5” center square fabric
You will need to make two.
Pointed Star Block 12.
Background fabric
(A) 2 - 8” square
Red Fabrics
(B) 2 - 8” squares
(C) 1- 6.5” center square fabric
Sew A and B .25” from upper left diagonally then repeat on the upper right side. Cut down the middle vertical and horizontally. Then cut between you stitches diaginally from upper right and left where you previously sewed. This will give 16 HST. You will need 12 for one block and 24 for 2 blocks. Repeat the steps to make all HST needed.
You will need to make two.
Inner Sashing
2 - 3.5” x 24.5”
2 - 3.5” x 30.5”
Sashing between blocks
10 - 2.5” x 12.5”
2 - 2” x 12.5”
Outer Borders
2 - 2.5” x55.5” on the sides
2 - 2.5” x 58.5” on top and bottom
