Love this homage to the erratic. Every time I happen onto an erratic in my home state of Vermont I wonder how it got to land where it did and wish I knew its story like the one given here for this wonder rock. Thank you so much for honoring the rock with this story and video footage.
Magnificent geology, great drone work. Very well presented with the additional text explanations. Thank you for posting. Keep them coming. Greetings from Australia.
Nice video, and thank you. I am finding multiple erratics near Telford on State Route 2, between Davenport and Creston, and am cataloging them. I like your interpretation re: standing upright. Many in Telford area have that feature.
Erratic is a term associated with glacial deposited rocks isn't it? A rock dropped from floating ice is called a Drop rock isn't it? There are very large dropped rocks in the ancient Lake Missoula basin and are called Dropped rocks. So are the rocks dropped from floating ice in the Missoula flood basin called dropped rocks or Dropped Erratic's?
@@bjornstad51 Thank you for confirming this. A couple days ago I watched a RU-vid video of the geology of the ancient Lake Missoula and the Geologist stated many times Dropped rocks in the sedimentary layers as well as the large boulders out in the open spaces.
