After their previous championship losses to Yale and North Dakota, this Bobcat victory was well worth waiting for. The great hockey program they have built over the past 15 years has finally paid off with a well deserved win.

Hockey Playoffs are the best, both college and NHL. 💪

You could see the OT goal happening from the face off, must have practiced that play dozens of times.

Michigan grad and a fan here.. I also played hockey most of my life. This is what is best about ice hockey. In hockey, a team playing hard with passion can beat anyone even the semi-NHL mighty Michigan, and Minnesota. Good job and respect.

The Mn coach should be ashamed of himself. What a gutless decision to play like that for the entire 3rd period. These young men bust their ass all season. Then make them play not to lose. Congrats to the victors who went all out to be champions. So typical of all Mn sports. Another prevent strategy that prevented a victory. I feel pretty bad for those kids.

Way to go, Gophs. Grab a 2-0 lead and play not to lose the rest of the way. Ridiculous. Should have kept your foot on the gas. You didn’t, and it cost you.

I feel like the Gophers would have won the game after the first period, but the Bobcats just didn't want to give up and kept attacking again and again. Finally, their hard work paid off. All the players are just college kids, but they played very well and fought like men. I just don't know what happened with the Gophers. They did so well for most of the time. I was completely shocked when the overtime lasted just 10 seconds. The Gophers could have done better, but again, all the players played so well. It was a great game. It was so difficult to watch a couple of players from the Gophers frozen on the field for a long time. It was heartbreaking! Respect to all players. I hate the media in the locker room though. They shouldn't put cameras or microphones on the players' faces when they are so devastated. They fought like men, but they are still kids. Leave them alone.
