@@Predated2 No they aren't. Pizza sauce should contain tomatoes and maybe basil if it's made right. Ketchup is loaded with sugar and other seasonings. I'm pretty sure that ketchup had more sugar than a bowl of cocoa puffs.

The channels contains episodes from all the series/seasons, but presumably due to licensing issues people in certain countries can't see some or all of them. Sorry. Here in Canada, we had access to everything until recently, but now series 12 is blocked and older stuff appears to be phasing out too. Much of the content is available elsewhere on RU-vid if you look around, or you could access via VPN.

Well, they are entertainers by profession. They know we'll enjoy watching them even when they're failing.

They usually only quit when they know they're screwed and there's absolutely no way of making it interesting without playing the fool. However, some contestants absolutely bask in both their victories and failures. Sometimes you utterly fail to ge a cat out of tree, sometimes you disguise yourself as a banana.

The season is not shot in order plus they film several tasks a day so I imagine they are enthusiastic at first but they start losing hope towards the end of the filming.

I feel like the absolute pinnacle of glorious failures was the "get the egg in the frying pan" task in season 10, just absolute madness

@@sslizard it was incredible, I will never understand what a person’s mental state will have to be like for them to get to the point where they think filling an egg with helium is a good idea but I loved every second of it

That one task perfectly summed up Nish's entire series!! 😂

I love how he is the exact opposite of Mike Wozniak (jumping over the fence to get the balloon), yet they both seemed to have a lovely time on the show!

At no point did he even think he could've just picked up the coconut again, you can see how shocked he is when they tell him!

@@VNdoug Yes, definitely a favourite of mine too. My favourite contestants are always the ones who embrace the absurdity of the show. Nish, Mike, James, Romesh, Bob, Sally, Al, Charlotte, Liza, to name a few.

I just love that the cat was fucking named “Patatas”. I can’t remember so someone please tell me - was there a theme of potatoes in Series 2?

@@nommyyt - Yes, that was the year there were 2 stop motion movies, I think they were "Night of the Living Spud" and the other was James Bond themed. Also, that was the year Joe Wilkinson threw the potato from the edge of the red green into a golf hole on his very first attempt, but it was taken away from him during the audience reveal of the task because it appeared he had a toe on the red green. Other cast members that year were Katherine Ryan, John Richardson, Richard Osman and Doc Brown.

The guy had poor eyesight and tried for 45 minutes

The wording of the task is “work out what happens when you flip the switch on” not “what does this switch do”. So Rhod was wrong, because when the switch is flipped on, Alex turns Ollie.

He was class. Natural competitiveness and he clearly loved the show

Iain had the best arc of anybody on the show! Aggressively competitive and then recognizing that he actually looks insane and becoming a less aggro person because of it.

The switch never was the signal. Alex rotated the statue when they went back in the house. One of them caught him halfway through but coming them outagain quikly enough.

I thought it was genius.

@@mattkennedy9308 Teh switch was the signal for him to rotate it in the first place, though. So the switch really activated Alex.

You forgot the task in series 7, where the two teams had to paint a drawing while one member was blindfolded. There was a small duckie, a watermelon and so on.

@@soul9735 - Yes, I mentioned duckies and watermelons.... I guess not every possible instance of their use, just a few to get the general idea. I guess painting and drawing could be another often seen theme, more of a task based rather than item based.

@@NaaimSiddiqi How is that in any way relevant to her losing that particular task? I'm sure every single other contestant shown has won other tasks in their series so they've all won before. The clips of them quitting, and thus losing, are only relevant to the task at hand.

@@Ertwin123 The saying goes "quitters NEVER win" not "quitters always lose the specific thing they quit". It's 100% relevant. Nobody featured here won their series, so there's more concrete evidence that it was intentional than that it was coincidence.

Roisin still did the task but she did it on a mechanical horse, so she never technically quit.

Or Bob only doing the "make a mess" half of the task.

Especially since they could remove their arm from it at any point.

They said they'll never do a losers series because they don't want to encourage people to lose on purpose.

I genuinely lost a lot of respect for Baddiel due to taskmaster. I thought he was funny and intelligent. He's either so genius that he looped back to idiot, or else he's just the least practical person on the planet. Just zero common sense.

But I think this was the only time he actually gave up on a task. He's staggeringly inept, but he always tried.

@@WeirdNeville I know this comment is a year old, but it's absolutely baffling to me that you consider failing at a gameshow any kind of indication of intelligence. Like I don't know about you, but I graduated college with a science degree and a 3.9 gpa, but I guarantee if I went on this show I would be just as incompetent and make baffling decisions because my brain shuts down when I'm timed and under pressure.

@WeirdNeville Yes I did, and I bet you and I would be just as incompetent. Like the lasso challenge, the logic behind that makes perfect sense to me. It's difficult to throw a light rope, so you find something to give it weight, ie a spoon, the spoon kinda works so you think, another spoon to keep the lasso open. Now that's not working so switch to something easier to throw, a football. As for flipping the task with my mouth instead of my hands, I can see myself doing the exact same thing, oh my hands are busy, I'll use my mouth. The Q task, he made an unlucky choice, and instead of scrambling for something that begins with Q he tried to bullshit it, because he thought there wouldn't be anything he could find, which is very understandable if you've never seen the show before like him. There's different kinds of intelligence. Alex has even said in interviews, they find that the higher the degree a contestant has, the worse they do. It's like how if you've ever taken a psych class, you learn how IQ tests are bullshit. Also if you think he's so stupid, how do you explain his degree from Cambridge. I'm personally great at science, stick me in a foreign language class and I absolutely suck. Hell, even some science, I have always sucked at the electricity portion of any physics class. That doesn't make me stupid, and neither would someone else being bad at the things I'm good at.

Katherine only quit after there was no way to finish the task other than to slobber it of the table like an egg hungry... I think the contrast with most of the other quitters was that she put in an effort to do the task and failed. Like with Iain there was no point in continuing

Joe is an easier target, cos his whole character is the "village idiot". Katharine's character is the "strong independent woman", which makes it all the worse that ahe cried a few sympathy tears then walked out...

i think with that instance the wording should be taken literally, Joe didn't quit and so despite taking so long he still placed 4th; also, Taskmaster is infamous, notorious, well-known, and looked at askance for its' perplexing or cryptic wording; the fact it backfires on them sometimes when contestants find valid loopholes just makes it all the better
