Multiple streams of income are a must if you’re trying to hit financial independence, retire early, and have the luxury of time brought back into your life. While most people simply rely on one stream of income, their W2, others want more than one leg to stand on when it comes to their financial wellbeing. How would you feel if every day you had eight (or more) income streams flowing into your bank account?
Tiffany Grant from Money Talk with Tiff spent over a decade building the income streams that would eventually set her free from the golden handcuffs of corporate life. But, that road wasn’t made easy for her. Tiffany unexpectedly became a teen mom, forcing her to pivot her journey from aspiring chef to community college business student. Thankfully, her natural knack for anything related to money allowed her to advance quickly through college and later the corporate world.
She was making good money, she enjoyed her job, and she was saving almost all of her income. Tiffany knew that her real dream was to own her own business, grow her wealth, and build the life she dreamt of. So, thanks to her smart money management, Tiffany was able to leave corporate, build over eight streams of income with one business, and regain control of her time. If you’re looking to do the same, then definitely don’t skip out on what Tiffany teaches in today’s episode.

I'm glad someone finally listed Your Money or Your Life as their favorite finance book. It's a great book to start with, contrasting with the Dave Ramsey books.

I feel like you’re definitely onto something when you surmise that productivity is related to money struggles. The teacher part of me automatically suspects a big part of that boils down to Maslow’s hierarchy. I’d be really interested to read that dissertation!

Hi Mindy. The 7 or 8 streams of income come from biblical money principles, which when followed, will give you life in abundance. Look at Ecclesiastes 11 especially verse 2. It’s a bit deja vu! 😂 Thank you for another amazing show. ❤

I find it interesting that she doesn’t talk numbers … it would be so helpful for us audience if she revealed more of her numbers. The host kept trying to get it out of her, so how much were you saving, what was your cash position - and she kept replying - I had two months of expenses etc… like seriously lady, numbers would have helped!

Great podcast i am 10 minutes from Charlotte Nc. They have a great Culinary school yes.Yes i have had the same issues with credit trying to build credit paying off debts . Then came collections for a bill for Ape dental that did a root canal on the wrong tooth. They refunded only 296 of the bill and then the insurance decided not to pay them . They tried to collect on the bill and they owe me. Now its in collections again which im sure they sold it. Making me sue them because my dentist was vacation and the tooth only needed a filling . He was pissed at the mistake and asked for xrays they only sent partals. The crown is horrid shapped. Now i have to dispute this debt.

Honest question? Why do some women always want to highlight the fact that they are a “single mom” in these stories? It’s plenty of men who are fathers and “happen to be single” who never mention it in our success journey. Most of these single moms have help from the men they chose to have children with. They are just “single”. Men don’t say I brought a house as a single dad…..
@tysgem7
@tysgem7 2 года назад
Being a "single mom" myself, I'm happy to give you my two cents on the question above. While I've used and accepted this term for years as it was addressed to me; corporate America tends to look down on women who are single with children; back when my children were small, I'm certain it hurt my career as I was on the fast track to upper management and then there was the "shift". Today, I refer to myself as a women with children (now teens) that happens to be single. And, I do not receive any assistance from the father, but that's another issue. I am here to say that daily, I break that stereotype and long ago stopped looking for value from my employer. I completed an advanced degree, began saving for my children's college, invested in the stock market strategically and have now built up a real estate portfolio valued at $1.5m and generating passive rental income. I've had some rough roads along the way as well, lost both my parents a few years ago, watched my credit suffer tremendously due to credit theft several years back, etc. Each loss was a lesson learned and a reminder to not make the same mistake twice as long as I'm learning from my mistakes. Hope this helps. :) I also believe men who are single with children are held to a different standard than women in the same arrangement; just my opinion. :)

@@tysgem7 this is awesome to hear. Most women break up their homes and choose to be single moms. This is just a fact when you look at who’s filing for divorce and leaving their families. I’m happy for you and your achievements and that’s awesome to hear but again men never say this when we describe ourselves and men aren’t treated fairly as single fathers in the courts and child support issues too. This is also just fact. All that as a huge huge road block and men still never mention they are single dads when they mention their achievements.
@tysgem7

Well, you definitely can admit the issues are complex and far from resolution.

@MoneyTalkWithT

Thank you for the question. I’ll give you an honest answer. Being a single mom is important to my story because it’s what drives me. I do not get any help from either of the dads. One only wants to pay $50/month in child support (if they order anything more he quits or gets fired) and the other is incarcerated. I honestly feel that it’s amazing that I was able to go from a teen mom, to completing not one but two degrees, having a successful career, and buying a house without the help of the fathers. And to the other ladies point on this thread and as someone that was formally in HR, in the hiring process single moms are given a harder time because the job assumes that they will call out more or need more time off of work, which is unfortunate. Maybe more men should highlight that they are single dads. I share that part of my story because it’s important and it shows other teen/single moms what is possible because usually it’s an immediate write off to people. Maybe you can be a light for other single dads and we need to hear more of those stories 😊
