Quitting Smoking: 100 Days Smoke Free - What I've Learned So Far

After a year of trying and failing to quit smoking, I've finally clocked up over 100 days without a cigarette. In that time, I learned that unless I get to the root cause of why I smoked in the first place, I'm never going to be completely free, nor completely happy. The journey continues.

98 days for me. I quit smoking on the day my daughter born. I not only stopped smoking but also started walking daily. On 13 october 2020 i weighed 207 lb and In 98 days i am 175 lb. Quitting smoking was'nt easy but walking and excercise gave me mental strength to do it. The only thing i want to tell you guys, It is more of a habit then addiction. Just dont smoke whatever bad happens in your life. Smoking will and can not fix it. It will make things difficult. Good luck as i am already celebrating my 10000 days because i know i will never smoke again. If i can do it, you guys can. ❤❤

37 days smoke free now. That wake up,brew coffee and smoke cigarette while coffee is ready was one of the weirdest things i had to get used to. It has been my habit/way 15 years so i ques it feels a bit weird at first haha. Thanks for the great content!

Great video, excellent realisation. I'm watching this video in 2021, and you seem like you're on the precipice of a massive breakthrough/positive change.....I hope that happened for you and that you're thriving right now. Clearly there's nothing "wrong" with you - you are a lovely human being. But it doesn't mean diddly squat when other people say it, we need to know it for ourselves. Thanks for making/posting this video....I'm on day 24.....and I think I'm gonna have to dig deep and do some deep healing around the root cause of why I smoked for 18 years.

Love this video...had to go back to your first videos to see how you did it! I’m determined as a pack a day for about 10 years but an occasional smoker for about 20 years. Thank you for explaining as a real person which is better than any book! You give people courage!

Hi Nicki, glad you're doing good after quitting :) I tried Allen Carr's book but wasn't successful with the book alone. It does change the way you think about smokign but for me that wasn't enough. As long as we all get there that's the main thing!
@scaussie75
@scaussie75 6 лет назад
I listened to the audio of Allen's book and it worked for almost 3 years and I went back to smoking during relationship troubles. I would recommend this book for those that haven't tried it yet. I don't like taking drugs but after reading his book and nothing happening 2nd time around, I am on day 3 of champix.

@ChrisSkoyles
@ChrisSkoyles 6 лет назад
Congratulations on three days, Bakkasur, that's a great start, don't give up now. Yes, headaches, tension and sleep issues can be some of the side effects of the nicotine and all the gunk getting out of your system, but I promise you they don't last long and things do get better. Hanging on through this tough period will certainly be worth it. For the headaches and sleeplessness I drank chamomile tea - i find it has a very calming, soothing effect - plenty of water can be a big help too. Best of luck to you and keep in touch to let me know how your joueny goes!

Rat Man 44 years? Why stop after 44 years?
@ratman8558
@ratman8558 3 года назад
@@joanofarc33 Why? LOL. Well, in 2017 I thought I was terminally ill, but my doctor said no. Doctor said I'd be dead by 2019 if I didn't stop smoking. Doctor also said that I can live a long time if I stopped smoking. I haven't smoked for 33 months now and I'm completely over it. I'll never smoke again. I can breathe so much better. My cardio has improved a lot. I've gained a lot of muscle mass. My quality of life is good and even though I'm living with moderate emphysema, I'm still doing a lot of heavy lifting, walking, pushing and pulling. I'm still; working 60 hours a week and I'm still healing and getting stronger. My quality of life is good. If I hadn't stopped smoking after 44 years, I'd be dead now, but I'm alive and doing very well. Does that answer your question?

I'm a smoker and I've been a smoker for about 16 years. My comments about smoking is, why quit? Yes, why quit? I enjoy smoking and smoking helps keep me stress free! Also, we are all going to die one day anyway! Again, we are all going to die one day anyway! Therefore, why not enjoy life to the fullest. Quitting smoking is NOT going to take away the fact that you are going to die someday anyway!

Sammy. If i may. The thing is many long term smokers arent lucky enough to die. The physical ailments and diseases are at risk. Not being able to run or walk not being able to breathe. Being on oxygen tanks. Being in hospitals. Not having energy to enjoy children or grandchildren. I smoked 43 years. Just got out of the icu almost died pneumonia collapsed lung. Im 100 days smoke free now. My grandson 7 yrs old was devestated. Hes so happy that i quit

@ChrisSkoyles
@ChrisSkoyles 6 лет назад
Hello Ilona! Yes I'm still smoke free - over a year now. The biggest challenges - and there's been some big ones - getting over bereavements with the loss of grandparents and friends without smoking again - and dealing with cravings in the early going. I spoke about some of these challenges in another video I made here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d8n5DecIPJY.html Also if you look on my chanel I've posted a few more videos talking about challenges when quitting smoking :)
@ilonaanoli1593
@ilonaanoli1593 6 лет назад
Hi Chris, thank you for your answer. My problem isn´t quitting smoking, the challenge is staying smoke-free while there are some heavy smokers around the table. The other drug addicts/smokers are the problem. How do you deal with that?
@ChrisSkoyles
@ChrisSkoyles 6 лет назад
That is a tough one - honestly, the only solution i found was to walk away. With other quit attempts, I had friends/family who smoked and I would just follow them outside or wherever to enjoy their company - I always ended up smoking again. this time, I just had to move away and let them get on with it - I found I ended up making new friends because i was putting myself in places were smokers weren't. People who care about you will understand and be accepting that you're trying to do something great by quitting smoking. If it's not an option to walk away completely - is there an option to at least spend less time around them? that really is tricky and I don't think there's an easy answer. I'll give this some more thought though.

nao TV I'm on my third of fourth day after smoking for 5 years straight, pretty heavily. I'm 27 now. I noticed it too. I'm positive it's just that I feel it now. My body is reaching for more air and noticing how difficult it's become and how weak it is now. I feel like my heart and lungs are full of glass but beyond that I really do have more energy and I feel much healthier. I got out for a run around the park and quickly realized I'd be walking most of it. That's ok, don't force anything. Take it slow. Good luck to ya. I'm excited about playing more basketball and being generally less dead lol.
