I don't know how you afford to travel so much for so long. I can barely afford month to month with two jobs. I cannot even afford one plane ticket let alone many to travel to different places.
I did this a few times in my life where i was burnout and quit my job and went to travel a little or just stayed home. And it really helps. Just make sure you saved up money before quitting your job. 👍
Good for you! I have retired? after over 30 years being a pharmacist. I lost my job and health insurance when I got breast cancer. SO.... I was doing fill in work for a year or so and finally realized I am done. Early retirement for me. Life is not work!!!
Good for you. I hope you have lots of fun and enjoy life. You deserve it! It's just horrible that you lost your job because you got sick. That company should be fined for discarding you like that. Enjoy your life.🙏👍🥰🙏

Most people find excuses and reasons they can't or they don't want to. It's your one life, if you really want something you adapt and find a way. I get there are barriers but the thing holding people back most in life is the mentality of "I can't because x y z therefore I will be miserable"
I love that you stressed that travelling by itself does not solve mental health issues or burnout. I have met lots of especially younger long term travellers who it feels are trying to continuously run away from their internal problems. But as the saying goes, wherever you go, there you are!
Hi you two sweeties, I had a burnout too...while having a great job at a great company in Dublin, Ireland. I also ignorde the signs for to long and it took me 6 years to recover. At the end my husband was the one who decided for me... we moved from Ireland to Germany. I stopped working... I am lucky my husband has a great job and earns enough money for both of us. I just started working again..only for 10 hours a week at an organic food store. Totally different from what I was doing in Ireland or even the Netherlands ....but I enjoy it. Have a lot of fun on your trip and enjoy the time together!!
I'm so excited for your travels. I can't wait to follow along. One of my daughters is an engineer & works with a group of people. (Trying to be discreet). Most of the people don't get their work done, so my daughter is given all of the projects because she is a hard worker & gets the work done. She holds approx 14 projects when the other team members are complaining that they have nothing to do, no projects. My daughter works 80 hours a week & was told 2 weeks ago that they are only going to approve 10 hours of over time, but she still needs to get her work done. The stress of 80 hours a week for over 2 years is affecting her health. Her & her husband finally decided that she needs to give them her 2 weeks notice. I would like to have been a fly on the wall when they realized that they are losing their only worker. I'm just glad that she finally realized that it's time to take care of herself. She enjoys the work she does. It fulfills her. But its a different story when your work is not appreciated any longer. You have to do whats right for you! Be safe you too & enjoy yourselves! some people do not have the luxury of changing jobs or traveling .....they have to deal with all the realities to keep a roof over their family's heads....
You don't have to have children. Romee is young and has been battling cancer. She worked for the money in order to be able to travel. It wasn't given to her. Romee is just doing what she couldn't do when she was being treated for cancer in hospital.

Do all this stuff while you're still young! It gets far more difficult with careers and kids. When you're older, you will not regret the things you DID do, you will regret the things you DID NOT do!
Love this!!! I had a really tough few months at the end of 2022, and I can definitely relate to this!! I'm now in a new job, receiving help for my anxiety, and ticking off things on my bucket list, lots of days out, new experiences, and enjoy life again!
As a Respiratory Therapist of 37 yrs..... I definitely know the "burn out" situation. The pandemic literally almost killed me.... WORK, because during the 1st year I never had Covid but the work I did as 1 person was unsafe and unreal. I actually lost half of my stomach due to a nonhealing bleeding ulcer. I almost died. I kept pushing so I could work. NOT GOOD! Anyway, I resigned from my hospital job of 27 yrs. My sister and I traveled to Alaska!! I've never even flown before this trip!! It was lifesaving for me!! Oh, I was replaced by 5 therapists!! 5!!! Lol. Apparently I was doing the work of 5 therapists?? I pray that this is a healing time for him. Enjoy!!!

What a great topic to bring awareness to. I also burned out in a professional field working as a project manager. Long hours and always doing what others didn't finish, but had to meet deadlines. No recognition from employer. I left last summer and took my first trip in years. A couple months later, my blood work, which had been off for years, was the best it's been in a decade and everything in midrange normal. I have a life back, but do stress now (in a different way) as I don't know what's next and feeling bummed that I gave up that salary. There's no way I feel ready to go back to work 40 hours or more a week again.
I have wondered where you were. So glad to see you back. You look so pretty and healthy. Sorry for Jeff's burn out but so glad to know he is traveling with you. Was uncomfortable seeing you travel alone. You two make a beautiful couple. I wish much happiness and happy travels. Stay in contact with us and continue to give us updates.

Ah Romee, ik doe dit in het Nederlands. Even voor je vriend ook. Ik heb ook een burn out, ik ben ziek geweest. En ik ben bij het UWV geweest en 80 tot 100 procent afgekeurd. Ik hoop dat je vriend er wel weer boven op komt, want een burn out is niet leuk. Ik ben zelf ook chronisch ziek. Dus... Voor mij is het dubbel allemaal. Ik heb het altijd zelf gedaan. Nooit hulp gevraagd voor dingen waar ik tegen aan liep. Ik had een vaste baan in de zorg, maar ik heb mezelf teveel gegeven. Ik ben teveel over mijn grenzen heen gegaan. Ik denk dat het herkenbaar is voor je vriend. Het is heel goed dat hij dit doet. Ik wilde dat ik die kans had toen ik er midden in zat. Maar ik was helemaal op, ik kon helemaal niks meer. En ik zit er nog steeds in. Dus ik heb anti depressiva gekregen, want het ging over in depressie. Dus waakzaam zijn. Ik hoop dat dit je vriend goed mag doen. Heel veel sterkte voor hem

Japan is amazing! I definitely recommend getting out of Tokyo. I was there in 2015 for an army trip. We were in Kanagawa and the people were so nice and helpful giving directions even if they didn't know English! Machida was also a nice city. Personally I didn't like Tokyo because it was too crowded and had my anxiety up worrying about my surroundings. But I would love to go back soon!

It is so amazing how our World has become 2 different ways to exist. There is people like Romee and her boyfriend who can just quit their jobs...n do nothing but travel and have a great time..then there are the other half people who spend an entire day going thru trash cans and trash lots looking for their one and only meal for the day then find a place to sleep in the street or under something for the night. How did we get to this point? How are there people who can just live as they please and people who have no choice but to struggle or die? The most SAD part about the World is when people like Romee who has been given the gift of life A SECOND TIME by God has not taken even a moment out of her life to help others not even some time after surviving something that very few people live thru she doesnt even give some back in life..she went right away to do nothing but enjoy HER PRIVIDLGED LIFE.

You on the river cracked me up! Glad that Jeff is doing what he needs to do and you are there for support; you can support each other. Easy does it trying new foods; my father got hepatitis A over there from the food & was never able to donate blood because of it. No stop- over to Australia?
Nothing wrong with traveling or being alone. I'm glad she can spend time with her bf, but dont treat being alone as a bad thing - many of us enjoy and even prefer it!

It actually affected Romee, She was upset and anxious. And did I say there was something wrong with being alone ? No I didn’t. I am on my own. So why would I criticise about being on your own. @@neen42 well now she has the companionship of her beloved boyfriend. And I couldn’t be happier for them both. I hope they get to spend good quality time together. And have the time of their lives. They will makes lots of happy memories. And I bet she will enjoy it more with him being there. Some of these places in the world are not safe. Especially for a young lady on her own. And that was my main concern. That’s is why I was happy her boyfriend flew out to join her.
