That big Betacam at the beginning of your video, in a way, I miss it, but in another way, I don't miss it! We're all spoiled now with MUCH better video quality for much less weight and bulk! Still, there's something I've always loved about the shoulder-mount, side-viewfinder form factor that I wish more camera makers would make, but smaller (kudos, JVC!).
Yes, I used the betacam at my nephew's wedding, and aside from being mistaken for a news reporter, the quality was horrible. Not sure how we never noticed how bad standard definition is. One of thse days I'll do a long form video on it. Better hurry while it still works. Thanks for watching.

Thankyou for all the videos you have produced so far,for many,myself included ,we do not always appreciate the time and effort (and expense) that goes into making them.I have a few video cameras myself ie.Panasonic HC X1,Sony HVR Z1e,HVR Z5e,Canon XM1,XM2,Panasonic HCR 990VXF and Sony AX53 plus quite a few others ,Hi8,Digital 8 ,DV,,and MiniDV.My first ever was a Sony CCD F455E bought new by myself,now no longer working due to bad caps,but last year I did manage to get about 10mins of video from it,then it sadly expired.So please keep making these vids,it's always interesting to see how these cameras have evolved over the years.Best wishes .Alan
Hi Alan, Thank you so much for the kind words. People are quick to tell me about poor sound quality or background music they don't like but far fewer take the time to write something nice. As I said, I am not a professional photographer, just an enthusiast who enjoys this equipment. A couple of friends took pity and let me borrow some stuff to do videos and that helps. The video I made on the 5 broken Canon A1s, I'm afraid to add up what I spent on that one. 😢 I'd love to get a Sony VX1000 someday but they are still not cheap. Or a Canon HV40. I'm still figuring things out. I put in equal effort and some videos do well and some don't. It's really kind of a mystery. Thanks again for the feedback and sharing what cameras you have.
