Many successful fragrances are followed into existence by a 'flanker' - a derivative fragrance that seeks ti cash-in on the wider appeal of the main fragrance and exploit the zeitgeist for the fragrance house.
More often than not these flanker fragrances do not live up to their older sibling and end up being swiftly forgotten as a money making avenue. However, there are a few that deserve a life of their own, that deserve independent status and even rise above the level of their relative scents in the family.
Quorum Silver is one such flanker - a wonderful, woody and masculine fragrance that stands out from the crowd and delivers a remarkable fragrance for an equally remarkable budget price.

Great review as always. I remember trying this in shop over 10 years ago, and having to decide between this and Cerruti 1881, I went with the 1881 because I wanted something greener for summer, while Quorum Silver was woodier. Hadn't thought about this fragrance since. Thanks for bringing it back to my attention.

Thanks for this great review. I wore Aqua Quorum in the late 90's and forgot it. A few weeks ago i discovered my love to fragrances again and went to the fragrance road. I love vintage, old-school barbershop frags, so I ordered Quorum and love it. Second one was Quorum silver a week ago and man, it blew me away. My all time favourite is Azzaro pour Homme. Since now. Quorum Silver went to 1st place, close behind Azzaro pour Homme and 3rd Quorum. 4th is CDNIM EdT which is much more on the smokier side, but also a great fragrance. Wish you all the best.

I love your reviews so much. Such an original format. Thank you. Bowling Green is my signature scent and my favorite of all time. Is there a fragrance that you’d say is similar besides Drakkar Noir? I love Aqua Brava too, but haven’t smelled anything else by Puig

Love the video. Bought a bottle for myself and have been using it for the better part of the last two months. I find myself grabbing this over some of my favorites. I think that Robinson Crusoe would be the one to epitomize this fragrance, he did live in the outdoors for a little more that 28 years.

I completely agree with your comments, Quorum Silver is a charming inexpensive fragrance suitable all year round. The original Quorum is another great masculine fragrance, but sadly on my skin doesn’t have the performance or longevity it’s renowned for. Really enjoying the reviews!!!

I love Quarum Silver and have 2 bottles one for my full collection at home and one for the gym bag. I love this fragrance. The only disappointment is the plastic cap of the bottle but that's not really an issue.

Just got back into quorum after a long time and absolutely love it, will definitely be trying silver, also note how it seems to re invigorate after contact with water, I was walking after lunch wearing quorum from the morning and it smelt much stronger, also check out agua brava it's amazing!

Excellent review, Ash. How could you possibly go wrong at that price point.Vetiver de Puig is also one to look out for if you like that lush green smoky vibe. Also in regards to bargain-hunting I picked up from TK Maxx the fragrance Halston Z-14 in125ml a classic from the 70’s for £12:99.

Huge fan of quorum orig since the 80s here. didnt like silver at first but the ginger lavendar combo is pretty amazing. F Black is widely heralded as underrated. This is like a classy less annoying version of that fragrance

I do indeed have a bottle of Colonia and Colonia Intensa in my collection. The Intensa is my personal favourite of the 2, but Colonia is perfect for the summer.

Please try Enrico Coveri Pour Homme. EC came out in 1984 and is an incredibly spicy and woody fragrance that can be worn year round. It smells so complex and warm that it never bores you. I own an abnormal amount of scents and I keep trying to beat EC but nothing ever comes close. It’s also very cheap, 22.00 at fragrancenet. I’ve been told I smell “rich” when I wear it.

bought the Silver over the original, love the cedar dry down, and the Aqua Quorum is a fresh warm weather scent, love the sport scent notes. i may try the original now.

I love the Silver, a great fragrance for such a cheap price. The Aqua is nice, but I find it somewhat less inspiring. The Quoram original is a leviathan and should definitely be in your collection. It's also remarkably cheap too!

I was looking to by a cheap yet old-school fragrance for my dad's 60th birthday. After a long 'research' I've stumbled upon this fragrance. I already know of Quorum, but never heard of the Silver flanker. I bought him a set with an aftershave for $30. All in all, I think it's amazing and I'm quite surprised how great it smells! It's woody, with hints of ginger and lavender. It has an old-school vibe to it, definitely. It suits my dad perfectly not gonna lie! In my opinion it's worth 3x the price to it. A really nice masculine scent, versatile and likeable. Doesn't last long on my skin, but it's like $19 bucks or so, spraying more than 5 times is preferable. In my opinion it doesn't smell cheap. It's classy, masculine, for a real man! It could be a signature scent, without a doubt. I don't wear it often, but I often use the aftershave, that smells great. I'd rate it as a solid 8.5/10. It could be higher, but I'm still kinda new to the fragrance community and haven't owned a lot of frags. I wanted to buy either Zino Davidoff, Ungaro III, Drakkar Noir, Cool Water, but something made me shift my attention to Quorum Silver. I don't what it is. And I was right. Definitely will buy a backup bottle. Why not. It's cheap, and apart from Azzaro Visit, there are no such alternatives to it. Overall, totally satisfied with this frag! :)

OK, so my Quorum Silver just arrived this evening. I have sprayed it on my arm to try. The initial whiff is like fresh milled cedar, you can literally smell the sawdust. It's a warm woody citrus smell, that is all you can detect at this stage. Then after 5 minutes when it is dry. WOW, it transforms into a wonderful modern dry yet still sweet orangey, vanilla bergamot. It smells ultra modern, like nothing I've smelled before. I think it could indeed acquit itself quite nicely on a night out. Perhaps at a classy bar, in the summer, outside on a veranda in the company of some fine women. It is quite a sophisticated and in my view expensive smell. Now going to warm orange, bergamot vanilla Twinnings herbal tea esque. Sweet with pinch of woody base to it. Thanks Ash for a decent and accurate recommend ation. Did I mention it cost me less than 12 quid!

I discovered Quorum as a teenager in the 80’s. It was my way of smelling different than everyone else,(polo green ruled.) if you enjoy the sharp, bracing quality of quorum, try Lauder for men; another 80’s cologne. This one slices like a knife. One spray is enough. It has a woodsy floral quality that is very sharp…perhaps the sharpest fragrance I’ve ever worn.

I see you mentioned going into the Puig back catalogue, don't bother with agua brav, it's a nice sounding proposition on paper but in reality smells like a vegetable soup base and a shed load of musk, not pleasant at all! This and the original are about as far as I will go, aqua, is far to alcoholic in the opening to tolerate, this is nice, more chiphre than fougere, a good blend for a very low price.

Quorum are fantastic fragrances, I had the chance to briefly use original Quorum, but have it away to my dad (Think I was too young for it, at the age of 23). But now I want to try it again, because now when I am 33 I am disappointed with current male fragrance trends. In fact most of the fragrances made now are feminine or unisex at best. So in a way I want to have a few true men's fragrances and these two seem to be the case.

Even though I was born in 1987, don't have emotional attachment to 80s, I find some of these fragrances interesting and "familiar" if you will. It's a good old school of parfum making and I hope that it eventually comes back. By today's standards Quorum is almost "Niche". I am happy that it received some attention from you. Hopefully we will see more 80s fragrances gaining popularity. Think its a must to have. Warmest greetings from Lithuania.

I want to blind buy this, but I’m hesitant about the powder accord. How prominent is it? Burberry touch, Brut, etc. Are WAY too powdery for me. Also, Bowling Green is my favorite, how different is it from this one and original Quorum?

It is very different from Quoram in every way. It is a tough powdery, but it works well for me. At this price, there is no real gamble!

I have just discovered this fragrance, and OH MY GOODNESS IT REEKS OF WOOD 😂 maybe I went bit overboard with the sprayer (7 times neck,chest and wrist) this guy nails the description to a tee,if you don't like smelling like the local woodyard then avoid this like the plague,I think i better wash this off before the woodcutter finishes me off 😊.❤ and peace 🕊️ to you all in 2024
