I can’t help coming back to this recording. Very long time fan of Carla anc Steve’s, and Rüdiger just walks in like he’s always been there. Wow. I can use this song as a lullaby or to calm frazzled nerves after a tough day.

I just found this album few days ago while researching on Peter Karl Studios. Obviously, I had to buy it right away. I liked the whole album, Musique mecanique III version is interesting and modern. Great selection of tunes !

Rest Inside Piano, Carla I just stumbled upon "Night Music" with David Sanborn, Carla Bley, Steve Swallow, Bootsy Collins introduces the song, and gives a few anecdotes about playing with James Brown, very funny, and leads the band in a super sweet version of "Lawns" But Bootsy renames this version "Healing Power" and it sure is medicinal sounding.

Unfortunately, this performance requires more study, understanding, and re-recording of the music after Rudiger has spent many years. Rudiger ruined the perfect feeling of Carla and Steve. Despite Rudiger being a good guitarist. Rudiger does not understand this music deeply. The Lawns played by Carla and Steve's a piece of god that a generic musician should not touch.

Dude, I’m sure you can play n all but fuck me, those notes all bent sharp offend my ear. I’d be much more comfortable with you bending pitches from slightly flat into tune. All these sharp notes, the strat neck bend? Jesus, man.
