Rōnin (浪人) talks over “How -Tu” Drive a Gun (Multiple Threat Engagement -Combat Pistol)

As a former Green Beret, I had to be proficient in the application of a combat handgun while deployed operationally throughout the world. Here, I talk over an important combat handgun fundamental “Driving the Gun”. I have seen and employed many different applications to enhance my speed and accuracy while driving the gun. In this video, I talk over how I have taken different styles of “Driving the Gun” and developed a form that has worked for me. In my teachings, the proper employment of this form must be developed along with hand and eye processing speed. Understand how I have taken forms and teachings from martial arts and athletic sports to enhance my balance, power, footwork and reactive speeds.
Tu Lam (Retired U.S. Army Special Forces- Green Beret)--23 Years Full Spectrum Warfare, U.S. Army Special Operations worked throughout 27 countries worldwide. Team-Leader assignments in Unconventional Warfare, Foreign Internal Defense, Special Reconnaissance, Hostage Rescue, Direct Action and Counter-Terrorism Operations in permissive and non-permissive environments. Composite Special Forces team training and development team leader. Founder/CEO and Director of Training and Research Development for Rōnin Tactics Inc.

I don't know if you're playing on the way he says this along with his strong following of Musashi Miyamoto but in the Book of Five Rings and Sun Tzu's Art of War, philosophies and statements in both books are solidified with ending statements like "Know this well" or "understand this" and they are stated repeatedly. I don't know if Tu meant to do that in that meaning or not, but I think that's awesome through and through.

When he said high on the chest, center line. I figured yeah, okay makes sense. Then when he said why, the reality kind of sunk in. Trying to sever a persons spinal cord. You have to do what you have to do, when that person is trying to kill you. I like that he explains the why of everything, it makes it all real and more than just steps to remember.
@ryans.6889
@ryans.6889 4 года назад
A lot of the guys teaching nowadays are a lot better than instructors just 5 years ago, specifically for that reason. They explain the why. A lot of instructors who are instructors either in the military or LE, they don't really explain the why. We were told to do it because it was the best tactic at that time.

The world has gone crazy and generation millennials would have written : “It makes it all real and more THEN 😱🤬🤮 steps to remember “; and it’s fucking killing me slowly every day....I wish to Heaven it didn’t affect me but reading a sentence where THEN & THAN is used incorrectly is like punching myself in the nuts 100 times THEN stopping, feeling better , THAN punching myself one last time for good measure. 👆🏻 SEE THAT? Plenty of our heros of Law Enforcement and the Military community have been killed by combatants they have already "killed" by hitting with 2-3 rounds. Love Tu, he speaks the truth, and has such an understanding of the grim reality of shooting other human beings. And the information he relates to everyone is truly important, and real. Love that he threw in the applications of targeting the hip line. In a world where too many bad guys are wearing armour, this is a good method to keep in mind. Especially for those who are carrying only a pistol for duty, or as an average citizen with a CCW. Many thanks Sir! Truly an American Hero.
