While there is a light bulb that has lasted for 120 years, that's because it isn't functioning as a standard light bulb: it is kept at very little power, so it isn't as bright and thus energy using as it could be, and it is never turned off, so it doesn't suffer from the fluctuation of being heated and cooled.

When I lived 4 miles out of town, DoorDash delivered to my residence ( I was surprised). I tipped $5 above the highest recommended tip. On top of that, the landlords dragged their knuckles to start up their truck and plow the driveway for a week or two. 14 cabins with a 45° incline to get out trapped residences with 2-wheel drive. I put in the driver note in all caps, do not pull in the driveway if you do not have 4-wheel drive, you will get trapped. Every DoorDasher that had 2-wheel drive thanked me for warning them.

Many people including multiple News Networks and even the Anti-Defamation League fell for it hook, line and sinker. Ever since then anyone who uses the hand sign is falsely accused of racism no matter how many times the truth is pointed out. The main argument against the truth is that "people who disagree with us now use it to mock our stupidity and the only reason anyone would disagree with us is if they are right-wing extremists". Long story short, it was basically Pepe the frog all over again except this time 4-chan set it up as a trap from the start.

People should know that the Stanley Cup chocolate was probably made in a factory using an open-faced mold, where the chocolate is poured by the top into these molds then popped out after cooling. I'd assume using closed molds would be harder to mass-produce and would require a more hands-on approach to the production rather then reusing existing equipment and just swapping the molds.
Speaking of Steam, I clicked on a link that one of my friends shared in a message and my account got hacked, then the same link was being posted by my account (so apparently, my friend's account was also hacked). When I did the process for getting my account back, I actually got it back by the end of that day. Much faster than I thought it would take.

Though, somehow the pizzas made by the shell company, that made them in the same kitchens as the "Frankenstein's Monster" pizzas, both avoided that issue and were somehow better quality than the ones made by Chuck-E-Cheese
OK so former Papa John’s delivery driver here. They would actually dock our pay while we were out on delivery. While at the store cleaning up and doing things around the store we get paid about eight-ish dollars an hour but once we’re out on the road our pay went down to four something an hour. I want to ask my manager why that was and she told me it was to make sure we weren’t dillydallying and we’re getting back to the shop as quick as possible. Because of this I’m really busy nights where I was driving constantly if I didn’t get good tips I would effectively make two to three dollars an hour because of how expensive gas is. It was awful.
That is wage theft, jobs can't just change your hourly rate on the fly, it's got to be a permanent change, and it can't come into effect until the next pay cycle

The call center thing with the ladies getting paid more. I would wager the reason they got paid more (not trying to be sexist or anything btw.) Is either A. the boss thought they were attractive and wanted to keep them around so he paid them a lot more. B. It is more pleasant/ relaxing to hear a woman on the phone than a man since womens voices are generally more soothing. C. women are more desired at call centers since it has been a thing for a while now. D. Nate had that extra experience and the guy thought he had to pay him more for it so he gave him that BS excuse to pay him less. just some thoughts. Not saying they're facts. I still think it's effed up though.

Unlike some places, these laws are actually enforced and there are multiple offices on both National and Union levels specifically there to help you free of charge. There's a lot wrong with the EU, but some things it does exceptionally well.

Oh Amazon Prime... I despise you immensely, but you are lucky I got home fast enough to save my package. (Package I ordered, Pokemon Double Pack for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, was supposed to come the twenty-third... It came the twenty-first, at night, during pouring rain and was left on my porch and not in the plastic bin I leave out for expected deliveries that has a sign with reflective tape on it to say to put the packages in it; I leave it out throughout days expected to have rain since I get both my mail and my brother's mail for him. I get home after work at night and the box is soaked and I about had a heart attack seeing it. Luckily the games didn't get damaged and the box they both came in was all that got damaged inside. It's what likely saved the games honestly. I took photos of everything before opening as evidence to send to them. I had no alert it was coming at all and I checked MULTIPLE times a day, because I was worried about weather, but the twenty-third I was going to be home so I wasn't worried then. Just worried it'd come early, so I kept an eye on the transit. It said NOTHING about it being shipped yet. Days later (Today) when I rechecked AGAIN to see when or if they change the record it had... They dated that it was delivered on the twentieth. Funny, because I was home the twentieth and it still said even then "Not shipped". I am still understandably furious.)
I make $10 a hour but it's a decent amount. Around 800 biweekly and 1400 a month is alot. Most people who want a higher wage lives in places where $15 is that states minimum wage.

Here’s some asshole design I just randomly remembered I can’t remember the name of the game itself. It was some anime looking JRPG mmo. But I heard a horror story of someone who really liked the game. And bought a bunch of their in game purchases (the game itself was free so no harm imo. They have to make money) However the problem arised? When they had bought everything the game had to offer in the in game store. So there was no reason to get more credits or whatever Their account got locked up because the game claimed they had an unusual deviation in their usual spending habits. Like the kind of thing that would trigger if someone who only very rarely bought in game purchases suddenly bought a fuckton. But because he *stopped paying them* Like on one hand as I type this I realize this is probably fake. But given the world we live in…
I don't agree with the smart device or IoT debate. What I am upset about is that everything is a goddamn SUBSCRIPTION. Yeah, if I want more movies at once instead of buying out Blockbuster (RIP,) I would appreciate Netflix, but everything is now a fucking subscription. I can't hold anything in my hands anymore, there's no sense of permanence. And people look at me like I'm the guy from It's Always Sunny when I say that I actually have an automated system of programs that sweep RU-vid and other sites regularly for stuff I want and download it to high-storage devices in case they get deleted. But then they are yelling about Infinity Train and all of these shows, songs, even entire software that get simply erased from history because they are all accessable through services only, with no hard copies whatsoever, and the company behind them just decided to delete them on a whim. If I buy something, that I expect to use for a long time, like music, or movies, or even writing software, I want a hard copy, or at a bare minimum a lifetime key of some sort. As I've learned unfortunately, from the fact that I have numerous earworms that I cannot scratch due to them being deleted off the face of the Earth, the Internet is not forever. It will keep every mistake you make, but the things that make you smile, or laugh, or feel something, are just as impermanent as they are IRL, and someone will take time to destroy them eventually.
Yeah, McAfee is really a fucking pain in the ass. It's installed by default on my computer, it was a pain to delete because I had to confirm it 5 times after spending 20 minutes looking for a way to uninstall it, and I STILL get ads for it that pop-up every now and then. But one of the shittiest things I've seen in recent years is the fact that RU-vid doesn't allow brand accounts to watch movies they have purchased anymore. Like, seriously what the fuck? I paid for the movie, let me watch it on my main account without having to create another account that is basically useless aside from watching said movies. And of course, it's impossible to watch these on Google Movies, where I bought them, because it's only on RU-vid now. Just like the fact that you now have to install RU-vid Music on new phones (at least Samsung phones) to LISTEN TO THE MUSIC STORED ON YOUR PHONE, because music players aren't installed by default anymore. Fuck these companies.

If it was such a great app you wouldn't need to fake notifications in it. Note I'm not a part of that group of people and I still will defend them when stuff like this tries to exploit them.
