I am so glad to see the A5 Vigilante in the air. I have a set of plans I bought years ago and really wanted to build it. Now I have some inspiration. Thanks gents and congrats on a very successful flight. I love the St. George's field. Looks like a great venue to fly at. Thanks for the video.
Great job by Rodger and great flying by you man! Nice looking model. Idea for you, and I don't even know logistically if this is possible for you, but I think some footage of the man that inspired you and taught you so much would be great! Maybe film/cover one of his builds?
Excellent flight. But, I thought that it was going to be just a hop and not a hop into the big blue sky. Lol. Very nice craftsmanship building her. Can’t wait for the next scratch build.
Great vid! the A-5 Vigilante is one of my favorite aircraft and its exciting to see yours in the air. i do have a question though, why was the bomb bay left open? from my understanding there should be a detachable tail cone covering the hole between the engines where the nuclear payload and or extra fuel tanks is dropped from. I suppose it could have been left out so it isn't lost in flight but seeing the A-5 like this reminded me of the purposed interceptor variant with the three engines, the extra sitting in the middle in place of the bomb bay, however to my knowledge it never left the paper it was drawn on.
