The Pellinor series by Alison Croggon hits hard mode for bards and is pretty fast series to read.

If you want to go with Stephen King for published in the 90s, I would really recommend The Green Mile published in 1996

See! Every copy I was looking at said it wasn't a 90s book. Thank you for verifying. I have a book for that prompt now but it is always good to have a back-up if needed!

I've seen this video floating around, and I think I am going to participate this year. I am a mood reader, so I probably won't be picking books out ahead of time, but this seemed like a lot of fun. I look forward to seeing how you do throughout the year! :D
