tbf the pixel art in old games was designed with CRT screens in mind. Some sprites / character portraits actually exploit the colour bleed to smooth out the image, an effect which is lost when you view it on an LCD screen. Also I have never had sex.
the funniest thing about scrolling through these comments is that you realize that nick mullen has made so much money off of people he just considers gay virgins and he couldn't be less happy about it
i almost fucked up my spine carrying a 28" sony trinitron from my neighbors curb to the inside of my house last week because i wanted to hook up my wii and ps2 to it also im gay
@@BIacklcewell that’s cause in real life he was always just a normal guy who happens to like old shit, this wasn’t whole life. He’s got a family and a home and shit.
I have some pretty nerdy hobbies but collecting Funko pops is just way too fucking stupid and pointless even for me. My cousin has a massive Funko Pop collection and I'm like: none of this shit is gonna be worth money in the future. When you die your family is just gonna chuck the whole lot in a dumpster while lamenting how much of your life you wasted purchasing and organizing it all.
@@fungusonus It absolutely is different. At least you can PLAY a video game, maybe feel nostalgia from it. A Funko Pop doesn't even do anything, even if you take it out of the box. It isn't even like fine art, where you can decorate with it. People just have box after box of these on a shelf in, what is more often than not, a shitty apartment or bedroom in their parents' house.
I like videogames but thats the lamest shit I’ve ever read. It’s as if you got rejected in middle school, and then instead of growing up you just entrenched yourself online for the next 2 decades amongst other guys who are resentful and afraid. Because it’s easier than trying. Get over yourself and buy some beef bulgogi for a lady.
I understand people wanting to play old games or collect. What I can’t get behind is the fact that prices for some old games I used to play back when I was a kid are just astronomically way too overpriced because of game collectors.
Late 00s, early 2010s were the time to get old games because at that point they were still just considered outdated hardware. About 2015 is when "retro" game collecting became basically a big meme and prices either skyrocketed or second hand surplus was instantly depleted. You used to be able to just go to a thrift shop, yard sale or flea market and clean house on old stuff. Now shit's all scalped and put on the internet
@@DraphEnjoyer I got into buying old games in 2009, and you're right, back then everything was dirt cheap. Where I lived, even the high profile SNES games were like $20 at most with just a few exceptions. Buy yeah, around 2015 things got stupid, and I would just emulate stuff if I wanted to play a certain game. Sold off almost everything last year and don't regret it at all.
That old monitor is actually a black nerd thing not a white nerd thing, its for street fighter. The tvs were used in airports or some shit but street fighter nerds get them because they have no delay from the console. People who have 'street fighter autism' brains can actually notice the delay
I still have my physical copies of Gears of War 3, Fallout 3, Halo: Reach and Condemned 2: Bloodshot. I’m proud of myself for keeping those masterpieces.
The only thing worse than this might be the car people who have full sized racing simulators in their house just to pretend to be f1 drivers. I've seen them wear the suit and everything.
I bought a RetroPie kit from some company online for like $150. It came preloaded with emulators and ROMS of literally every video game ever made for every console between 1970 and like 1995. The entire system is about the size of a wallet LOL
When i was a kid i didnt know about emulation. Plus every house had one shitty computer in the living room unless your dad worked in tech. By middle school, everybody had visual boy advance on their computer though.
To be fair to all the trinitron nerds, i had one a few years back and it truly looked wayyyy better than the emerson I grew up with. I bought it at goodwill though. I wouldn’t pay more than $30 for an old tv.
I may also just be stoned and misunderstood what you meant. If you already knew cumtown and meant for the channel to keep up with this editing style then sorry lol
"Collecting" is just hoarding. Especially something like retro games where your entire collection room can fit on a USB drive. Collect something cool at least. Like gay pornography.
I bought one of those RetroPie emulation kits online for like $150. It has literally every video game ever made up until the mid-late 90s preloaded on it and the entire thing is the size of a wallet.
I used to collect everything but the market is absolutely stupid when you can just mod the system and get every game. Don't pay $150 for a tube TV lmfao
Adam doesn't have any hobbies besides media consumption, Stav doesn't have any hobbies besides general consumption, and Nick picked like 2 or 3 interests and then decided all of the rest of them were gay
I don't hate Stav but the more I look back on Cum Town, the more I think he seems really insecure with how often he'd interject into discussions to talk about how he has sex and how he thinks this person must never have had sex
Stav is an insecure child at heart who feels like his only gesture of maturity he's capable of is having half-baked sexual connections with women who probably have a massive pile of daddy issues.
I feel like Nick would be the kind of guy to, just for the bit, spend tens of thousands of dollars on those old CRTs just so he could burn an image of bowser getting his dick sucked by sonic the hedgehog into the screen, and then spend the next 11 months trying to sell them at a loss to these reddit guys.
Nick is wrong about everything he says about the monitors. The colors are fantastic looking on those studio monitors and the wires that the old game consoles came with were utter dog shit. The yellow wire for video looks awful and upgrading to RGB makes a massive fucking difference.
this bit always makes me feel like shit/anxious at the end. I've done better than these guys but only barely. Also Nick being into researching autistic people's sad lives is sad in its own way
I envy Nick's comedy but not his mental faculties. The man is textbook Borderline Personality Disorder. It's too bad he wasn't musical because he'd be able to capitalize on his slide down the spiral.
Bro there’s pictures and a video playing I can’t tell what is happening only thing I know is tv and I’m gay. I think I saw something else I have no clue
You can literally buy a whole play station one game arsenal and the console if you have a pc and buy the emulator for like 5$ everything for that generation. Why you would hunt down all the games and consoles/ controllers idk… but I would say it would be worth something some day… it’s is. Including the tvs that have the old red white and I think green inputs. We’ll look at it this way some asshole spent 150000 on the first iPhone in the case!!! So who’s the bigger fool?
@@kingstarscream320 I like having a physical copy cause cause feels like owning a bit of history. Plus I'm also a total audiophile and just love the sound of analog. I will agree that i am a dork however
why do audiophiles love vinyl when a CD is infinitely better. its literally just as gay as retro game collecting, if you want the best experience just emulate the videogames. same thing with music. @@telophasemusic
Yes, it's propped up by these dudes that demand PERFECT pixel and color accuracy on the 25-40yo games they never actually play. They don't play them. They just buy old and new ultra expensive gear to get the perfect image...just to get it, lol. My neighbor was one of these guys and never once played anything but his PS4. Never not once. He set it all up and then hopped on Fortnite and COD all night long. It's hilarious because even when I would goof on him a bit or seriously ask why he was so obsessive over games he didn't plah he said he just had to know he had it. Like if he wanted to play...Super Mario Brothers 2 on NES he could and could do it with it perfectly framed, colored, drawn and such. He had to have it. Emulation was out of the question. He'd rather drink poison, lol.
The bathroom at the end looks incredibly cute! Perfect if you have kids. The rest though is pretty sad, especially if they don’t intend to play any of the games.
