Funfact: Gatorade's name was based on the Florida gaters (the football team for florida university those who don't know) the gaters were on a huge loosing streak, and were loosing more weight then they should have been, so they got someone to take a look at them, then created the first Gatorade to help with the weight loss, along with a few other things. Pangolins are being poached for their scales. Their scales are considered to be a highly valuable and have healing/medical properties, and are popularly sold in eastern asian countries. They are critically endangered.
I don't really care how good they meat are, what supposed medical use they have and how valuable they scale are. All I care is for people to stop hunting them so they have a chance to bounce back from being endangered and future generations after me have a chance to hold one alive in they arms. I can't stand a future where these pangolins only exist in the past.
As a furry myself I can awnser his question, and the honest answer is . . . THEY ARE SO MUCH EAISIER TO DRAW AND GET REFERINCENCS FOR!!! Now don't get me wrong a HUGE majority of the Fandom can draw EXTREMELY WELL! And have their own unique secspices! Now comes in part two! The suites themselves are VERY expensive as it already is for something common as a k9 or a fox, so all of the additional things you would need to make a monster suit would more than likely make this a bit easier to create on paper than it would be on your wallet Aslo as a small edit, things like spots and stripes aslo make the price go up as details like that need to be hand stitched to look right!
1:00 as a pangolin fan, let me explain. So basically, the scales on them are said to be great medicine (spoiler, they aren’t.) And the meat is also a delicacy. Usually places like Vietnam are huge pangolin importers.
Pangolins are poached because people like to rip off their scales, to made "Health Smoothies". Made of the same material as finger nails, and held of by the same means.

Answer to your question about why don’t we have any monster fur suits: some of us do they’re just not all that famous and they don’t get a lot of attention but they really look cool
05:35 theres plenty of unusual species around, it mostly depends on how easy it is for fursuit makers to change their basic patterns into the species wanted, or on how good the person is at making their own suit. Its usually just easier to stick to species that actually exist and give them different colors or stick antlers onto it or something. Usually the more unusual the suit, the more expensive it is. And decent suits are already real expensive.
It's nice to see an ex-Mormon who doesn't seem to be bitter about the whole thing. I have nothing against people who leave the church since there could be any number of reasons, but it's so sad when they get nasty and hateful about it. :(

I actually know why pangolins get poached bc I did a science project on them in 4th grade (which took a month to get approved bc my teacher kept thinking I was saying penguins and we weren't allowed to do projects on the same animal) their scales (they're also the only mammal with scales which are actually specialized evolutions of keratin) are considered an aphrodisiac and general cure-all for pretty much everything, and their meat is supposed to be a delicacy, probably not helped by how rare they are now bc they keep getting poached :( they walk like kangaroos and have prehensile tails when they're young
Yo Robin I actually did a research paper on pangolins. They're poached for their meat (a delicacy in some places) and their scales (said to hold pseudo-medicinal properties like rino horns and tiger paws). Its actually rather hard to keep track of them because they understand to avoid most humans so we can't consistently keep track of them.

The question about the monster fursuits, i think someone has made a "monster" fursuit, but I think the reason why there are not many is because it would be too hard to make as a fursuit
exactly - simple wolves with simple colors are easier to make! plus, fursuit makers may not know how to make a uniquely shaped monster. though, if your fursona is lizard-like, you can use those dinosaur mask thingys as a base. y'know, those ones with the hollow eyes and moving jaws? and yes! there are plenty of monster-like suits, and even more sonas! as for bright colors, personally i'm a fan of black with neon-green and hot pink stripes. monster suits with neon colors and tons of spikes might seem a bit out there, but a lot of people have done crazy things with suits, such as screens in the head that display animated eyes, wings with lights with them, even moving ears! the future is now, so dream big.

So he steals the hat and now he has 2 hats and is happy. But then past him comes and steals his hat from the now above frame. He doesn't notice until 2 frames over.

I know ONE reason pangolins are poached is for their meat... they're apparently considered a delicacy in some parts of the world (no matter how sickening the thought is)
