The infuriating part to me isn't just the spoons, but it's an open bowl anyone can sneeze or get their fingers in, or a flie or just plain dust and grit from hundreds of people passing by getting in. Ew. No.
As someone who's worked as a baker for a while I can confirm that there are always offcuts because each slice needs to be the specific dimensions/size buT there is good news! Instead of wasting them we'd put them aside for the staff to eat during their breaks! Not only did it lessen food waste but it sure as heck boosted moral when someones working a long shift but get a bunch of offcut vanilla slices to nibble on!
This gives me that tiny bit of hope in humanity. Because some jobs wouldn't do this, even if the benefits outweighed any tiny inconveniences it may not even make.
My little cafe did this too. It was awesome getting a kitten sink cookie (a bunch of ingredients like pretzels, choc chips, etc in a basic cookie dough) or brownie bite when we had off cuts
I like how lexi has legitimate reasonable explanations for some of the infuriating posts, that's really nice, like being nice about the showerhead and the undercooked steak. It's cool to know the reasons behind some things that may be infuriating, even if it doesn't necessarily make the situation any "better."

(Edit: I got my initial diagnosis! Only took months of waiting! Still can't afford the full testing, but I got acknowledged! I also got two bonus diagnoses of two kinds of anxiety... go team!) As someone struggling to be diagnosed with autism, half of my personality "quirks" are literally symptoms of various things under the ASD umbrella (audio processing disorder and echolalia, dyspraxia with speech acquisition delay, most likely ADHD, my sister was diagnosed with bipolar disorder so maybe something with depression since she gets that from my dad's side.) I once had a doctor watch me struggle to tie my shoes at 21 and asked if I was diagnosed with a motor delay. When I explained I grew up hitting my physical marks late but being smart, she asked if I had been evaluated as a kid, I said yes but I was pretty sure they used male metrics so I didn't meet the standards for ADHD or autism at the time (2000? Maybe) since I did well in school. She said that was interesting but wouldn't provide me any way of diagnosis despite literally stating there was something wrong. She said "You've done fine and probably don't want that stigma" or something like that and left. I'm 25, with a full time job but my roommate has to button my blouses because I take forever. I wear shoes I don't need to tie. I still struggle with reading analog clocks and telling left from right but I work in Admin and make eye contact so I'm clearly fine... I often "beep" at noises at work, I repeat things, and I just don't talk sometimes, like words can't leave my mouth sometimes. But since I didn't have outbursts at school (which, I totally did but they ignored because I grew up poor with teen parents) and did fine academically (despite me telling multiple teachers and counsellors I didn't understand what "author's purpose is? They didn't say any of that, where are you getting that information? No, I don't know what "read deeper" means? I can't read at depths!") and other CLEAR misunderstandings of figurative language, as well as dyscalculia being written off as me being lazy, me clearly not being able to read clocks for years, the fact that I was reading at a college level in the 5th grade but couldn't relate to my peers, the fact that ALL of my eventual friends had diagnosis' of ADHD, autism, or other neurodivergent documentation... and the kicker: multiple TAs, professors, and students asking me if I was autistic or something during my 5 years of college... For me, it wasn't ever "I'm not like other girls, I'm unique" it was "why can't I be like other girls? Is something wrong with me? Am I a psychopath? Am I broken?" and it sucked... And my roommate can't afford ADHD medication because it's so regulated because people abuse it. She's struggling daily not being able to think or function easily. (We're also both partially deaf and can't afford hearing aids, so really the entire system hates us)
I'm working at Michael's and Christmas stuff came in 1 1/2 weeks ago. Though Halloween stuff came in like late August and sold out fast. Still frustrating though
Toilet Paper being the "backwards" way: Cats. My cat will unroll the entire roll onto the ground if he's able to. This way prevents him from doing so, as a downward swipe at it rolls it up and not down
That one about the Lowe's Christmas decorations being out in September is so cute. My local supermarket did an entire aisle for Christmas gifts and shit early, too. On the topic of the ADHD popularity, while the "trendy" people are obnoxious. I am officially diagnosed, and seeing the others who are diagnosed or do actually have it but weren't allowed/able to be diagnosed out there, it makes me feel less alone, so id rather deal with a few annoying tenders in order to not feel alone.
Yeah I get that, I am currently unable to get a diagnosis due to financial problems, and it sucks because I'm both treated like a "trendy" person and am unable to get medication. :/
I actually really like that off-center saucer! It means I can place my cup and still have room for my spoon, lemon, or to rest the teabag if one was used without having to fish under the cup for them or potentially jostle the cup grabbing them.

Gotta love the 90s. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child but my mother didn't like how I was on the meds so she refused to get me treated. Now in my 30s I suffer from severe depression and anxiety and just now got the ADHD diagnosis again. I'm treating it this time, but damn this sucks.

Native speaker here. It actually depends on your dialect. I can’t remember where specifically it’s pronounced like a V, but I personally flip between them or even do both at the same time. (I’m Dominican)

There are 2 legitimate reasons to orient your toilet paper that way: kids and pets. Both of those will happily bat at the tp roll until it's a massive pile on the floor. Putting it backwards keeps it from unrolling like that.
some where I lerned that tolets can spray germs up to 6 feet away from the toilet, so I feal like the toilet paper would just be rubing up agenst a germy wall...
As I mentioned in my comment, my primary reason is to avoid spiders nestling between the sheets. It happened once, and I never want to have it happen again.

Although “neatness” can be part of it, usually it is accompanied by a panic disorder and thinking something bad will happen all because the stuff isn’t in the order you usually put it in

@5:55: Pandemic aside, as a former EVS/Housekeeping person in a Level II hospital here in the US, there is absolutely ZERO excuse for this! NONE! Not only does a person clean the room, but an assistant supervisor come behind and check it, but then the shift supervisor check it. But the shift nurse and the nurse assigned to that room check the room as well. They are STRICT on cleanliness and that was pre-COVID. This would have been caught at least 5 times over. This is a MAJOR breakdown in the system and even with the Pandemic, there is still no excuse. That amount of mold, dirt, and grime would take at least a year or more to form. Disgusting.
