Horse is the purest embodiment of DnD's Chaotic Good Barbarian. Low int and wisdom score, but high strength, dexterity, possibly charisma. He's impulsive, doesn't like rules and will go out of his way not to abide by them but is always ready and willing to use his chaotic energy for the sake of common good and those he cares about. What a legend. I hope he's doing well wherever he is now.

I remember my mom telling me a store about how once my dad came home drunk and hit her. She didn't take it well she picked him up by the neck and slammed him into the wall and said if he ever hit her again she would make sure he didnt wake up the next day. See my mom was 5 foot 9 and 250lbs and my dad was 5 foot 3 1/2 and 150 lbs. needless to say he never hit her again. My mom isn't someone to mess with I learned that when I was five and she picked me up and threw me across the room...granted I was trying to set the couch on fire.

My dad's parents were these small, unassuming Italians. I mean, yeah they're loud and passionate, but fairly unassuming. My mom told me that my grandfather used to beat up my Nona. Horse reminds me of someone that I am very close with but the guy I know falls under more of the lawful alignment than the chaotic one. My guy is a pretty chill dude who follows the rules until someone messes with a person he cares about. Then all bets are off my guy will literally do whatever it takes to enact revenge

Victim of multiple forms of abuse.OP good for you standing up for friend, I hope she ended up getting emotional help. Good for Mrs. Smith. I dated a guy that had 2 DV convictions. Told him if he ever laid a hand on me, it would be the last thing he ever did. Took 7 yrs, and me being in a cast for him to do it. He was dragging me down the hall when my mom came out of her room and pulled her .357 and pointing it at him saying "let go of my daughter" he dropped me where we stood. He never laid a hand on me again. Plus I kicked him out.

I had a friend like Horse in HS. He was a hulking Mexican guy with a very thick accent. He was our bodyguard against other bullies but still knocked us around when he was bored. Good guy.

Either way, her husband would get drunk and beat her, just like the story here, and when he passed out one night, she wrapped him in a blanket and beat him with her cast iron skillet, too. He never hit her again.

I had an aunt whose husband came home drunk almost every night, he was rude, treated her like garbage. Idk if he ever beat her though. But I do know that she asked him many times to quit drinking, begged and pleaded, and he would respond "I'm the man of this house, I'll do whatever I want with the money I make". So one night he comes home drunk, strips down to his underwear and gets into bed. She looks over at him and says "dear, I left something on the porch. Would you go get it please?" Hes being drunk, decides not to get dressed again because it'll only be a moment. He steps out and she locked the door. He had no keys to get in, and it wad the dead of winter. He was out there the whole night. He never drank again. Then years later their son, at 18, was doing the same. Drinking, staying out late, being disrespectful to his mom. She asked and asked for him to stop and he wouldn't. So one night when he came home drunk, after he passed out in his bed, she sewed the top sheet and the bottom sheet together around him. Then she grabbed a 2x4 and be the crap out of him. He also never drank again.
