Story 1 - Okay that neighbor is clearly one of those people that’s (to quote Kurt Russell from Overboard) so damn bored with their own life that they have to invent things to complain about to make others miserable and themselves happy. Well I hope that they enjoyed the noises from Hell from OP and her boyfriend.
If I was accused of peeing off the balcony, I’d stand there with a bottle of water pretending to be peeing, and recording it as to prove that it was water
Story 2: WTG, OP. We live in an apartment building that was pet friendly. Many tenants are moving out now, because of all of the doggy-did-it all over the lawns. The building management has installed dog bags containers at all doors leading outside, but the situation has gotten worse. My son and I have 2 service dogs; one for PTSD, and one to keep me balanced when I have a Meniere's attack. We have dog bags attached to their respective leashes, and when one of the dogs makes her poopies, the "owner" of that dog hands the leash to the other, so that the "owner" can clean up the mess. Heck, we even have small flashlights attached to each leash, so that we can find the night messes and clean up. Sadly, because many apartments in the building had to be gutted after negligent dog owners left, the building owner has made the building pet free. Those living here with pets or service animals can stay, and keep their fur babies, but new tenants are not allowed pets, not even a goldfish. Thank you to all of the neglegent dog owners for ruining it for everyone else. I hope that KARMA finds you and serves you your just desserts.

@shadowsnake5133 no, they really can't. If you have a real service animal, not only is it to refuse them to live there, but you can and absolutely will get you sued and potentially put out of business.
I HATE when people don't puck up after their dogs. I once run out while walking my dog and he did a surprise extra stop. I went home, returned with a bag and spent about 10 minutes searching the area so I could clean it up. I did get it. And I know I should've had more bags, it just happened. It hasn't happened since. This was about 15 years ago
Story 3: Did the HOA witch at least clean up the mess before she stormed off? If not, you need to use a plastic bag, pick it up, follow her home, and dump it on HER lawn, calmly telling her that she "forgot something."
The last story. To stop the bamboo the neighbour would have to dig up his entire yard and remove every sprout. Then put in a shoot/root blocker along the fence line. It would cost thousands
At some point op should have contacted the police on Karen, she threw a rock at him and that does count as aggravated assault plus an assault on a minor, not to mention the numerous times of trespassing.
Story 4 - I wonder if OP and the HOA board can file a report against Karen for nonstop harassment , fraud and openly admitting that she intended to poison OP’s dog and not the other dogs that were sadly killed by that monster? (RIP dear puppies)
She needs to be reported to the ASPCA for admitted poisoning of those dogs and threats of poisoning OPs dog and charged with endangerment of a minor by throwing a rock at OP
My daughter and go recently bought a new home. They absolutely fell in love with this home. It ticked off every box. They were ready to put in an offer when the HOA president met them as they were leaving their last showing. He told them many things that needed to be changed as soon as they moved in or be fined. They walked away from that home as fast as possible. This was last August and that home still has not sold.
On the floodlights, check with a local attorney. These could be considered a "private nuisance," and could also be interfering with the quiet enjoyment of your home which is part of the bundle of rights you have as a homeowner.
Rude Neighbours Story: If I were OP, the first year they smashed my Pumpkin, I'd install Security Cameras and when they started destroying my Halloween and Christmas Decorations, I'd call the Police to have them Charged with Criminal Trespassing and Destruction of Property and then Sue to both get the cost of the damaged decorations back a get a Restraining Order (No Contact & Stay Off My Property) against them...
Story 4: reminds me of a neighbor who used to live in my neighborhood. It is an HOA neighborhood, but it’s a super relaxed one. They honestly don’t give two craps about what you do in your yard, so long as it’s legal and you pay the dues every year. But anyway, this neighbor was the biggest Karen I have ever had the dishonor of knowing. My family and I grow vegetables in our backyard every year and she once called the police on us because of dad using the rototiller and me helping him plant the seeds. She reported a dangerous individual destroying property and child labor violations. Everyone in the neighborhood hated her. She actually got kicked off the HOA for trying to fine everyone who left for work before 10:00 AM when she woke up. The incident that forced everyone to make her leave was one Halloween when she kept running after trick or treaters and trying to hit them with a shovel. These were little kids dressed up for Halloween fun. One angry neighborhood mob outside her house and she was out of there within a week. Never saw her ever again
Per the last story with the blinding flood light: I took a shiny piece of metal, bent and curved it to funnel/focus the light back into their window. It blocked the light from entering my window and returned it to their window. They moved their light, and I moved the sheet metal and aimed it at the same window. I called the shaped sheet metal my artwork.
I remember hearing a story on Be Amaze about op’s neighbour that owned a dog that kept going through op’s trash and the neighbour didn’t do a thing to stop the dog from going into op’s yard and causing a huge mess. That one day, op got some KFC chicken for lunch and he ate his chicken to which he splashed newspaper blue ink on the chicken bones that still had a bit of meat on them. This type of ink is difficult to clean especially if it comes into contact with felt fabrics. So the trap was in waiting and like clockwork, the dog went into the trash and ended up covered in ink. The following day op’s neighbours had to get a new couch and their carpets were completely ruined. The moral is, if you want a dog you have to be responsible for them.
Story 4: I don't live in an HOA but if I had an AH neighbor that hated dogs and told me that she poisoned dogs, she'd be on her way to the emergency room with a piece of paper taped on her chest that says: I poisoned dogs and got away with it. Honestly, I won't be surprised one day to hear something like this but instead someone poisoned the person that poisoned the animals.
Story 5: Sounds like the nightmare neighbors never left their "Teenage Delinquent" phase, because they leave trash around, make everyone miserable, and even vandalize s**t, which bullies do
Balcony Story: If I were in OP's shoes, when I got the Fine Notice from the Management Company and called the Idiot Lady, when she stated that if we don't have dogs, it must be US peeing off the balcony and we're still in Violation of the Lease, I'd have asked her if she has ANYTHING other than the unsubstantiated claims of my Downstairs Neighbour, such as videos of liquid cascading off my balcony or are you just going by his word? because this sounds suspiciously like he's lying to you to use you to Harass me and you're stupid enough to take him at his word WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING TO VERIFY HIS CLAIMS and THAT, Ma'am is a REALLY good way to get you, personally, added to the Harassment Lawsuit against my Neighbour that I'm going to be Filling in Court tomorrow...now are you going to admit you jumped the gun and revoke this Fine for something I didn't do or do I add your name to the paperwork I'm filling out right now?
Was about to comment something similar. Like, it grows so fast it was used for creative and gruesome executions back in the ancient times where they just tied someone above and let it, well, grow.
I had a neighbor throw dog poo over the fence into my yard and then call code enforcement to report it. Code enforcement officer said wow ur dog jumped 5 ft into the air and pooped on ur laundry line 😂 I didn't realize it was sarcasm until she went to the neighbor and fined them for having their dog on a short leash with no water in the summertime.
Story 1: OP lives in her apartment for four years without a problem, but then management starts receiving multiple complaints from one person who'd only just moved in. I guess management is a very laissez Faire corporation who issues citations without investigation or noticing it's always the same person doing the complaining against the the same tenant. I'm glad OP moved out.
First story: since it is by e-mail and it is clearly a disrespectful comment and a clear unfounded accusation, the OP would have been in his right to sue for harming OP's reputation. Seriously, you can't do so in total impunity. That person at the end of the email is as bad as the downstairs neighbor.
Story 4: How was that awful woman not serving at the very least jail time for being caught poisoning the first dog? They are clearly psychotic and a danger to the neighborhood.
Story #4, Yeah, if someone threatens my dog, I wouldn't stand for it either. Nor someone being annoying as the Mega Karen was towards OP. Good on you dude for you and your friends being as petty as legally possible.
We had a neighbor like the one in story1. She started complaining about us making noise during times when we weren't even at home! Sadly, the apartment manager believed her until we told her to send someone over to our apartment to prove that not only weren't we doing what she said, but we weren't even home. Sad people playing petty games.
The dog poop story brought back a memory. My high school swim coach lives in a nice residential neighborhood in NJ and they had a neighbor whose dog used to crap on everyone`s lawn all the time. He and his wife started collecting signatures on a petition to present to the town council asking the code enforcement/animal control to help with the problem, since phone calls resulted in no change. He approached a neighbor who lived next to the dog owner and, surprisingly, the guy declined to sign. He walked to the side of his house and behind a bush was a 2 x 2 ft square of plywood on the ground. He told my friend to bring the poop over every night and put it on the plywood. The guy would go out late at night, scoop the dog poop on a long handled shovel, and flip the poop into the dog owner`s swimming pool! In the morning, the kids would come out and yell, "Mom, the dog shit in the pool again!" Dog was rehomed in a few weeks and never came back to the neighborhood.
Story 3 - If I were OP I would ask my cousin if I could take the footage to the HOA board to report that woman for harassment and not cleaning up after her dog.

@@kristhebrownie it's all about the people in it actually caring and attending meetings, as long as the neighbor everyone hates isn't on the board they work. I grew up in a working class/lower middle class neighborhood without an HOA and the city put a HHD house in a year before my parents sold and it cost them 25k in 2002, needless to say it's not even a working class neighborhood anymore it's a ghetto, that wouldn't have happened with a HOA.
The story of upstairs neighbors allegedly peeing from their upstairs balcony reminded me of a story I read about a well known woman country/western singer talking about country living. Included sitting on the balcony rail and peeing instead of walking down to the outhouse. I wrote a letter warning her she was mooning whoever or whatever was out there. I also included cartoon of two men running like crazy. One was yelling to the other. The caption read: "Nice going, dummy. You had to full-moon a werewolf."
I had a neighbor how I used to say hi to ever day when I passed their house when coming home from highschool. I said it for over a year and started to get tired of saying it and them ignoring me, so j stopped saying it. A few days later they came over my house to complain that I don't say hi to them anymore. My mom asked me why don't I say hi. I told her "why should I bother when they ignore me and say nothing back or even jester." When my mother talked to them she asked if they replied and they said no. My mother said "what makes you think he'll continue when you don't respond." Never said anything to them again.
All these dog poop stories are one reason I have a cat instead. They poop in one place, where it doesn't bother anyone else, and you only have to clean once a day while indoors instead of 2-3 times a day outside in often bad weather. Plus you never have to do a major periodic yard clean out which can get awful sometimes.
When my realtor asked me what I was looking for, I said "No HOA and two toilets." Now I don't have some crazy lady telling me how to keep my home/lawn while I pay her. Best money I never spent.
In story 4 she tried to murder his dog, falsely called the cops repeatedly, assaulted him with a rock, and harassed him constantly, but all he did was make noise... Honestly that's some really weak revenge, she should be facing criminal charges.
I'm surprised that after hearing the dreaded word "CAMERA", (because everyone knows that cameras are holy water and Crossesto karen's!) She didn't hiss like a vampire and pick the dog poop up off the ground, before turning into a mist or flock of Bats, and Flying away Like an "OLD BAT" 🦇 OUT OF HELL 😂, WHILST SCREECHING AT DECIBALS THAT COULD SHATTER GLASS AND EAR DRUMS!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My immediate thoughts on story 1 is threatening to take the property owner to court for false accusations to attempt breaking a lease. Most of these stories are court cases really. Petty revenge is nice and all but legal revenge is sweeter.
My parents have a neighbour who's previous dog used to walk the neighbourhood by itself and crap anywhere. My dad started picking it up and dropping the bag in their mailbox. I'm legally blind and guess what? I still pick up after my dog! It's not that hard!
Last story: I'd have invested in a reflective coating on every window facing that guy's security lights. And maybe a couple of reflective mirrors on the wall, to reflect sunlight into my oh-so-shady garden. They reflect your security lights into your windows? Oh dear, sorry about that... you could point your lights away from reflective surfaces? That might help...
Just a reminder, if in the US, a letter/advertisement that is “put or placed” in your mailbox without going thru the postal service - report it to the postal inspector. If you do this you are violating the “US Mailbox Restriction Law” and you could be fined.
Story 5 - Super glue on the tire cap? That’s a new one for me but I’ll have to remember that should I ever encounter AH people like that. Hearing all these stories about awful neighbors makes me very happy that I don’t have those kinds of neighbors where I live.
Liquid Nail is a construction adhesive caulk I use if when doing certain things when remodeling and when I do construction work with my uncle. It makes super glue look like off brand PVA glue.
I wouldn't. Letting out the air is one thing, that's just a PITA. Doing the glue thing is criminal damage to property and can result in charges if you're caught. Misdemeanor or felony depending on whether the tires can be repaired or need to be replaced. Petty revenge isn't worth going to jail or getting a record for
Story 1: OP should have stated that an unfounded accusation of a SEX CRIME (public nudity to pee) is not a good idea...demand the property attorney's contact info. Story 6: OP could have opened the door and stated "I tried diplomacy...twice. Now I don't have to. You have a nice day now, ya hear." Then calmly shut the door. BTW: Golden grows at about 2 to 3 feet per year...on average. But in Texas sun it could be much faster :)
Story 6 - I would have got a really big mirror, then installed it on the patio and pointed it so the light reflected back into his windows, preferably his bedroom. If he doesn't care how light pollution affects you, you shouldn't care how it affects him.
Years ago I had a little house in the big city. The elderly lady next door finally had to go to a facility due to her health. In moves a young woman with a black chow dog, bark, yap, bark. Not long after, when I mowed, I noticed dog poo in my yard, which was partially fenced. It had never been an issue before. Then I noticed that one of my trees had developed a ring where the bark was missing. I thought it was some kind of tree disease and was about to call the city or an arborist for advice. One day I came home early and caught new neighbor girl chaining her dog to my tree in my yard! I told her to get out of my yard, that neither she nor her dog was welcome. I also pointed out to her where she had damaged my tree and told her to get a bag and clean up the poo, then never come back. She was like 'the dog has to go'. I told her to use her own yard because I was tired of stepping in its poo and thought my tree had some kind of disease. She was all whiny like what's the big deal. I told her to think about how she'd feel if someone did it to her. Some people are just so entitled. 🙄
Story 5 - I knew a chemist where his ex left him after cheating on him, stealing a lot of money/stuff, and nearly got him kicked out of his program in university by making things up. He still had her car and eventually returned it...after injecting the rubber moldings of the car with the scent they used to train dogs for corpse retrieval. I was winter at that point. Apparently it doesn't smell like much to humans, but it causes a panic response in the brain. In humans and animals. I never checked this out but they showed me her ads trying to sell the cursed car people wouldn't take a second ride in.
Story 2. Step 1. Bake your neighbors a cake. 2. Go step in a big fresh pile. 3. Bring cake to neighbors house. 4. Wipe feet on neighbors mat or get invited in.😅😅😅
You have to be careful when you start doing things to make other people' s lives miserable, because sometimes it'll bite you in the butt. We once had a couple of non-running vehicles in our large backyard, and the neighbors complained that it looked messy. We were nice & straightened out the way they were parked, but didn't get rid of them. Ya know, every once in a while, you have a problem that you need help with, and it's kinda nice to have a FRIENDLY neighbor you can call on.
Last story: OP goes too far with golden bamboo because the entire neighbourhood will be ruined, including neighbours who never did any mean thing. There is a house in Vamcouver, Canada with bamboo the size of trees completely filling the front and side yards. Immediately in front of that house is an eight lane highway in a thirty foot deep concrete culvert, and on the other side of the street are two houses with yards also completely filled with bamboo, and in the back can be seen more yards of bamboo. This stuff makes kudzu look noninvasive, and inflicts itself on others with roots that literally grew down forty feet and under a hundred plus feet of concrete. Not revenge here, just overkill.
Story 4, I would have called the cops instantly at the rock throwing, I bet they would have loved to take her in for assaulting a minor after all the time and resources she made them waste constantly. Still, good job. Story 6, which I would title "His entire yard is bamboo" is pretty amazing.
Story 1: Seems the downstairs neighbor has an issue with telling the truth - namely he prefers to lie. Why? Some people have trouble with the truth and are actually unable to go without lying even for short times. 2nd story: If you have a dog or cat you need to clean up after them. It's not funny, it's part of owning and caring for an animal. 3rd story: A dog crapping on a neighbors lawn would also no doubt be an HOA rule violation. I think it's also a health code violation and the city or town ordinance people could be involved if reported. 4th story: Delusional Karen tries to make up nonexistent HOA rules, and she's not even on the HOA board. The Mega Karen should be arrested for trespassing on OP's parents land herself. Her admission she had tried to poison OP's dog - yeah, I'd have my phone recording her every scream, every admission and get her arrested for cruelty to animals. 5th story: This is when you get a security camera to prove their the ones that did this damage. Glad a neighbor was kind enough to let OP know what these horrible neighbors did. LOL, what OP did with their tires was true revenge. Karma - what goes around, comes around. 6th story: The bright lights showing the patio is fine, but when it then lights up your neighbors patio or porch and into their rooms - that's out of line. Plants as a barrier are a good move - but bamboo? Wow, that's really hard core.
Story5: oh my aunt n uncle delt with horrible neighbors who destroyed their decorations then they until the their grandson was alone and told him santa was fake and almost ruin a 6 year olds wonder, but then the couple tried to break in when they saw the mountain of presents ( 4 boys 3 of them married plus 3 grand children ranging from 6 to 8 months) when they couldn’t get in they destroyed all the front yard lawn ornaments They tried 3 more times to break in but my uncle and his 4 boys waited with bats and basically charged at them and gave them a few good smacks from their bats They called police but they didn’t have any recordings but a neighbor came forward with recordings of them vandalizing the front yard
Story 6: A friend was recently telling me about how bamboo had taken over a portion of her yard, and it would cost thousands to pull up. She said special equipment is required because it grows so deep and parallel underground. That sounds like an absolute nightmare.
Dog Crap Story: OP needs to document it and call both Animal Control and Code Enforcement...oh and also make complaints to the HOA Board... Tickets, Fines and Court Summons will quickly wipe the smiles and laughter off their faces... If I were in OP's shoes, I'd do both as well as returning it to them as OP did, though I'd send at least one shovel full at their door every couple of days...
First story: I would have gotten some mud/dirt, put some egg into it and let it sit in the sun for a day, churn it all up again with water then poor it down the side in the middle of the night. enjoy Story 6: put a mirror in front of the window and reflect it right back at him.
story 5: a product known as "liquid a*s" is an awesome farewell gift to leave on neighbor Mrs. (Karen) Kravitz's front porch. PS- leave gift on the day you move since the smell will occupy a 50 meter radius for the following month! (And for anyone born around the millenia- watch a few episodes of "Bewitched" to understand the pop culture reference to who, or what, is a 'mrs. Kravitz': "those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it!")
The only one I have an issue with, having her kids step in dog pooh as a revenge. Having the lady step on it is fine, she is the one allowing it. What if she does not care about her own kids? Now the kids will know that the neighbors view them as fair game as well.
It is a violation of Federal Postal regulations for anyone but the owner or a postal employee to place or remove anything from a mailbox. Report it to the postmaster. As for the bamboo story, it was really nice of him to provide his neighbor with an unending supply of expensive bamboo sprouts.
Security Light Story: Once he said he changed his mind and is going to leave the light aimed as it is and turned on each night, I'd have Sued in Court to force him to aim the light so it can't shine into my yard at all and if that style can't be so aimed, to either modify it with a shade to block the light from entering my yard or replace it with a light that can be aimed so it doesn't shine in my yard...that and my Legal Costs would be all I'd Sue for making it FAR more likely that the Judge would Rule in my favour...
My dad planted bamboo like that in NJ. It grows like crazy and did piss off the next door neighbor he didn't like. Shoots would come up in his yard 60-70 feet away from the property line. If left a week, it was a foot tall.😅😅😂
The pee from a balkony and poop on a roof stories reminded me of a friend of mine. He lived in a half legal flat in a n attic of a 5 story building. He did not have a toilet in his flat, just a sink. He had to go down two floors to a toilet in the stairwell. One winter night he came home late drunk and went to bed. Since it was freezing cold, he did not want to go down to the toilet, when the beer in his system wanted to get out. So in his half drunken state, he decided to use his sink... . The next morning he went out, did some shopping and as he came back and looked up, there were some bright yellow icicles hanging from the rain drain. As it turned out, the landlord did not bother to connect the sink to the wastepipes, but just put a pipe through the roof into the rain drain. Luckily it started thawing and raining the next days, so the evidence was quickly washed away.
Bamboo story: I once had a house in the deep south, and a neighbor in an other HOA that abutted to my back yard, planted Bamboo. In about 3 years, it started showing up in my backyard, having crept under a concrete drainage ditch. I removed all I could find in my yard, but it was a sneaky plant (I pulled up a runner one time after a rain, when the ground was soft - looked like some alien backbone!) After Weed Control came, and cut it all down, I decided to 'salt the earth'. I poured a 60 Lb bag of water conditioning salt, along the fence line, over the cut off shoots. Nor more bamboo.
In the case with the bamboo, there are some varieties that you can almost watch grow. My late brother-in-law got caught in a patch of bamboo while he was stationed in Viet Nam and he said that that stuff grew so fast that in the day that he was hiding in there it grew so fast that it took his dog tags off his neck.
#2 That dog crap on the roof will absolutely damage it. It'll cause leaks, and will seep inside the house. Crappy neighbour will need to have the whole roof teared off and rebuilt from scratch. That include replacing all the insulation and probably rebuilding the ceilings. #3 There should be a federal law passed to force the dissolution of ALL HOAs all over the place and forbid the creation of any new one. Also, that law should mandate the reimbursement of ALL fines imposed in the last 5 years, with composed interests, and all collected fees for the last year. #4 That's pro-petty revenge coupled with a nasty dose of malicious compliance. That Karen is still on her power trip that got her expelled from the HOA board. #5 Deflate the tires of the A-holes and put glue on the valves. That's genius. Other that would work well : A drop of Crazy Glue in the valves, a dab of silicone under the cap, ... #6 Neighbour from Hell yard is all bamboo because he never tried to cut them back and neglected to do a VERY simple thing : Install a root blockage. And, to do all of that totally legally.
Story 5- had neighbors that would park over in my side of the shared parking lot to the point we (roommate and i) couldn't park in our part. Landlord wouldn't really do anything unless the vehicle(s) is not operational. So i went out middle of the night and took the cores out of the valve stems and super glued them to a piece of duct tape and left it on their windshields. After a day the landlord was threatening neighbors to fix it or risk being towed away. They stayed on their side of the lot after that.
I can never honestly understand why someone would try and impersonate something you know full well a quick search will verify. "Hey, Pete, is there a Karen on the Board?" "Nope, BUT there IS a Karen who WISHES she wasn't just ON the Board BUT was HEAD of the Board. Give those letters to me and I'll go have a word with her, I" just remembered" there's a fine for Impersonating a Board Member... "
Story 4) @darkfluff never underestimate the power of spite, love can make a mother lift a car, and fear can make a person out run a wild animal but spite and hatred can drive anyone to do anything for a prolonged period of time if it is in the pursuit of vengence. 😈😈😈
The last story, I would have got my own security lights and returned the favor. Maybe even 2 lights to completely flood thier house and backyard with light.
I never fully understood why people need floodlights like that.. well aside from our backdoor neighbors who grew weed (they got kicked out, since it's rental).
With the dog po story, he/she can be held liable for ANY damage that causes and clean required some they put it there. It's not ok for them to not pick up after their dog but it's legally dangerous to do that kind of thing.
Story 3 When I read that OP did not open the door to solicitors I wondered why she would have lawyers coming to her door. In England a solicitor is a type of lawyer.
Last story: How fast does bamboo grow? Well, many many moons ago (1979 or thereabouts) I went camping at Le Lavandou on the French Mediterranean coast. The camp site had been roughly extended by clearing a nearby overgrown field, which had a thicket of bamboo along one side. One evening on my return I opened the tent to find a nine-inch bamboo spike that had grown during the day and pierced right through the groundsheet.
