In college I had a peeping Tom issue too. I fixed it by buying fake blood and cultist outfits for my roomies. They peeked in and saw a guy covered in blood surrounded by chanting animal masked guys. The cops came and we told them we were film students. Peeper got 6 months in jail for it too. 😆 Cult 4 the win. 🏆

I locked my baby in the car once at 4:00 am. It was really cold but he was super bundled up in his car seat and sound asleep. The fire truck came and got my car open within minutes. Little duder didn’t make a peep the whole time lol. Still scared the crap out of me and I was crying the whole time.

A little one I day cared for locked her mom out in our driveway once. Lucky for me her grandparents lived across from me and had a spare key. We were so worried cuz it was 90 out and she had the windows closed due to ac on. She had sit her on the front seat while paying me and she just reached out and shut the door and wouldn't open it Of course the keys were in it too. After that we never let the 2 1/2 year old get in the front seat alone with the keys lol. I swear if your little one hasn't locked you out at least once from your car are you really a parent? Lol

After hearing so many stories about parents who lock their kids in the car and act like it's not a big deal that they almost KILLED their child, it's really refreshing to hear one about a parent who did it by accident and did everything they needed to do in order to help their child. Good on you, Alexandria V.

I don’t blame you that’s a scary situation to be in. I’ve honestly thought about getting a key box to hide under my vehicle so I had a spare key just in case but then you never know if other people trying to break in would look for something like that then they could just take the whole thing.

A few years ago i was ill with a lung infection that got better very slowly. So i was home most of the time wheezing and coughing in my backyard to get some fresh hair and sunshine on my pale skin. That year, beside a life threatening illness, i got new neighbours and they had a young completely untrained dog they let loose on our combined yards. Six backyards together on opposite streets. Very nice to look at and play in for the neighbour kids. The people let the dog loose without supervision in the morning to the late evening. Complains didn't help. I could see that the dog wasn't aggressive, just playful and untrained. So I read up on dog training, bated ihm with some treats and took it on to train him. I didn't know his name so i named him Tom. To my surprise Tom was very trainable, attentive and always eager to please. It took me only two weeks to get him trained enough so that he didn't dig and poop everywhere and the kids could play with him when i was there too. Two month later out of nowhere i found cops standing on my porch. They stated that i had stolen Tom and refused to give it back. I never heard a word from the Toms owner, they even got out of their way to ignore me. So i explain that the owner never trained the dog and let him loose all day long without supervision and i was doing my best to watch over and train him. I never attempted to get the dog in my house or restricted his movements. They promise me to look into it. Turns out big dogs need mandatory training and my neighbours never did that, they also "forgotten" some other paperwork. In the end i adopted Tom and learned he is a she. 😅 I have her for 4 years now. Before Tom i would never imagined i need a dog im my life but now i can't imagine be without her. Life is strange like that.

When the policeman arrived and looked out said window, all he saw was a hedge in front of the neighbor's window. He tried to tell the woman that the hedge blocking the window was plenty high enough and she shouldn't be able to see the guy at all. But the woman insisted that she could see him...when she stood up on the kitchen table.

Story 2 - Friend of mine had a woman like that, in his case she accused him of being in his birthday suit in the carpark and started calling him a pedo and such. Thing was this however, all he did was change from his work shirt and tie and put a polo shirt on, never changed out of his trousers. So that was all she saw from the opposite side of his truck. So she had seen him change his shirt and go off at him. Then of course she demanded that he leave, yet refused to back up to allow him to get out to do so. So he told her she either backs up, or he drives upto her bump and starts pushing her back. Of course she dared that he do so. Well, thing about my friend is, he likes driving large utility style trucks, such as F250s, he'd like to get a F350 but honestly didnt want to go the extra mile to get a truck license in order to do so. So, here is this woman who is driving a 2 door hatchback daring such. So he decides to see how much she wants to push, so simply starts the truck up and drives slowly forward, of course she chickened out and starts reversing, and he keeps going forward. Well, she was so busy going at him she hadnt noticed the car which had been coming from the next lane over, who had heard the whole exchange. So as soon as he moved forward and started moving her backwards, they came into the row they were in, blocked from view by his truck, and parked into that spot he just left, then the driver got out and moved up around his truck and off between cars to watch her reaction. Of course as soon as my friend had room to get around her he did so, belching black exhaust as he did and drove off a short distance only to see her go and turn to go into the spot, stop, get out and start stamping around screaming like a toddler because she lost the spot.

My daughter at 15 worked at a fast food place. She noified her boss she would be out of town on a cer Saturday. The boss made a monthly schedule. The date was in the last week of the month. That's the only day she scheduled my daughter to work. I told my daughter to talk to her to see if there was a mix up, no it was on purpose. She decided when someone worked not their family. I had my daughter turn her resignation which pissed the boss off. Then we waited for her last check which have been ready a week after the last day worked. It wasn't ready. My daughter asked the boss where her check was and she said she'd have ready Friday. This was Monday. Fine . Friday morning my daughter ggoes to the restaurant and no check. So we start calling every hour, we finally get her at 12 o'clock. I had read up on labor laws for minors and found out I could file a police report on her and the police would padlock the business for a specific period. She finally said would come to her house and pick up the check. I went to door with my daughter because I didn't trust the b..... She started cussing my daughter me out for being irresponsible. I looked up and down and told to look in a mirror. My daughter laughed grabbed her check and, went the car. I warned her the w-2 better show up at the right time or the locks would padlocked by the feds. I wouldn't bother calling to remind her.

Had a co-worker that told me about his previous job. He had worked 16 hour days for like 8 days straight. The next check only had 4 hours OT. They told him they would pay 4 hours OT per check, until they paid it up, and if he didn't like it, he would be fired and see none of the money. He called NCDOL. When he got to work a couple of days later, the OWNER was there (at like 6am) with a check for all the remaining OT. DOL said (paraphrasing) "ALL money owed will be in his hand by close of the next business day, OR WE cut him a check, and you pay us back...at an insane interest, PLUS a huge fine. Your choice"

DUDE with the Old Peeping Thomasina; Just put a fake security camera pointing at her house. (They cost less than $10. And just re-adjust it every month.) We had an OLD BIDDIE that hated us as neighbors after we rented the only house within 2 miles of hers, and after we realized just how mean she was, My Wife bought a stand-up cardboard picture of Matt Damon and put it in our bedroom one day, I asked what it was doin there and she said, "Its a surprise for my Old Peeping Thomasina next door". After I went hunting over the weekend, that old bat was watching me come in on Sunday afternoon, standing on her porch, then right behind me a minute later, telling me about my Wife and "That man she recognized from around here somewhere". I figured it out and loaded my shot gun with a couple bird shot, ( Very tiny pellets, smaller than BBs, so they do no harm if they come down on a local roof ), and walked around to my back door. Told Wife about Old PT out front and we went to the back yard and I fired two shots into the wooded field, up high above the first trees, hurting no one. Country Sheriffs Deputies were there in 25 minutes, And I went to the door and let them in quietly, closed the door in case she was around and told them about the whole situation. I walked out with them as they left, Wife stayed inside away from windows and I told them loudly that, " I don't know when my Wife will be back from her Mother's." And that I had left with her here and her car in the driveway. Then I just stood there glaring at the OLD bat's house for 5 minutes. She had two carloads of family stay at her house the next few nights, and none of them said a word to me, as I made a show of driving off fast and loud that first night. Wife and I told the Deputies that she, (The Wife), would probably hide out at her Mom's for about a month, just to worry the old bat. Wife was about 8 month along with their first, ME. This was presented as mine, but actually it was my Pop's story, told to me in front of Mom after I complained about a mean old lady at Whataburger being mean to me every day. My folks were always a barrel of laughs; ONCE, Mom had to go into the living room before a funeral and separate my Pop, his Brother and Sister, because they had the whole room full of mourners cracking up with them telling funny, embarrassing stories about their dead Uncle! I figured this was fitting to leave here. Yes, we were country folk, and she was a better shot than he was! I updated their story by changing John Wayne with Matt Damon; Pop was a big fan of the Duke, and Mom had bought it for a whole Dollar at the 2 screen movie house, in our nearest town of ROSEBUD, Texas. Pop was a Air Policeman, a Cop, in the Air Force.

EMT (911) here. The first and last stories were SO relatable! I've been called out for babies locked in vehicles, and it's always nerve-racking. The most recent time, it was over 100 degrees F outside (about 40C). The baby had been in the car for ten minutes total by time we got the door open, and was pale and lethargic. Laypeople don't need me to tell them that's BAD. (Accidental lock-in.) This guy in the story using my patient as an excuse to get his beer is infuriating. Private ambulance companies are invariably awful. They do things which are illegal, dangerous (I've nearly been killed more than once because of my now-ex-boss at a private), immoral... I could rant for hours. They have an insane turnover rate because they treat people like crap, but pay better than 911 and attract fresh blood. I would rather walk unmasked into a houseful of Covid patients than work shifts at another private. _I hope OP didn't let that push him out of EMS entirely._ Oh, and yes. Many schools teach EMTs (blue patches) the bare minimum to pass the NREMT... if even that. They're nearly as bad as these private ambulance companies. Paramedic (red patch) schools are somewhat better, because they are required to be accredited.

I got fired once per email which, in Germany at least, isn't legally binding. Needs to be sent postal and my boss also refused to give me my last payment. So I went to a lawyer and he pointed out that I hadn't gotten an official letter so it turns out that my boss had to not only give me my last paycheck, she also had to pay me another month since she sent the letter after court so I was officially still an employee :D. Was only a small side job so it only netted me an extra 450 Euro but still, was totally worth it :D

The last story reminds me somehow of a former employer of mine. So two years ago I worked for a personnel service provider. The company actually was okay and it was my supervisor who messed up things back then. So I had struggles with mental health back then and to make it as short as possible I was quite close to death when I reached the hospital. I was unconscious for at least a whole day, I don't really remember since I messed up dates, when I woke up. So my boyfriend managed to tell everybody that I'm at the hospital and obviously can't go to work for the next days. Now over here if you're ending up in hospital because you harmed yourself, they will keep you until you fully recovered (if you don't do anything dumb) and then instead of sending you home send you straight into a psychiatric institute, where you will stay until it is safe for you and/or others to go home. I stayed almost half a year, before I was sent home and these six months were... interesting. So when I arrived in the psychiatry I got a letter telling me I got fired for not going to work without telling anyone. This is important because in Germany you can't get fired without reason after a maximum of six months working, which was the case for me. Since I was still unstable mentally I called my dad telling him about that letter and he was like "I know a perfect lawyer for this case, shall I reach out to him?" so I agreed since I felt "a little bit" betrayed and things started to happen. Personnel service providers in Germany aren't used to get sued by their employees, at least in that branch I typically work for. So when my former employer got the formal letter from my lawyer they did what they usually do and let my former supervisor do stuff. And omg she tried well. What usually happens would be that she would do whatever possible to her to make the process as slow as possible. Since we're talking about low income, most employees are like "I can't afford it, I give up". But not me. So whatever she tried to sabotage the process, I gladly fulfilled, she was THAT good at this job that eventually one day before this would have come before a judge, the supervisor of her supervisor reached out to my lawyer, begging to accept the appropriate comparison and let the case rest. My lawyer called me to inform me about that and since I wasn't interested in doing the company any more harm than necessary, I agreed. The appropriate comparison in my case was adding a compensation of 2,500 € to my last payment, a formal apology including undoing anything that would lead to bad reputation and an offering to hire me again. And usually the company will pay the compensation, get an answer stating that the apology was accepted and that there is no interest to get hired again. To get the compensation payment I had to call the company once more to make sure they got everything right since they somehow didn't get any mails from me. So I called and asked what happened and well... my former supervisor got fired during that process and the new one had to set things up from scratch since that woman had messed up everything. Think I did something good for everyone at the end. :D So if you ever as an employee feel betrayed, treated wrong or harmed, don't hesitate to get things done. And don't you dare think about giving in because they try to slow things down as much as possible.

Something similar to story 4 happened to my brother. My brother worked 3rds, so he was a day sleeper. One day a pair of Jehovah’s Witnesses came to his door & slammed the doorbell until he got up. I should mention here that my brother sleeps nude. So he goes to the door, cracks it open while standing behind it & peering around the edge. They start their spiel about where is my bro going when he dies & he says, “ Look. I already have church home & I’m happy there. I’m a day sleeper & you’ve woken me up. Have a nice day.” They keep pushing & pushing & just won’t leave, with their hand on the door. “If we could just come in for a few minutes….” Irritated & ready to go back to sleep he thinks ‘f it’ & swings open the door & says, “Fine. Come in if you want”. 😂 They both screeched & ran off. He laughed his butt off & went back to bed. The main issue was that this pestering happened frequently up until this day, but don’t cha know, he never had another visit from them while at that address. 😂 Serves them right. No means no, people. Go away when asked politely.

I had a similar experience to these callers. New baby, lack of sleep, I was actually lying down in the living room with baby, both of us having a great nap. These two lovely, gentle ladies woke me up. (Baby slept through this). They start their same spiel about how JH's will go to heaven, that only 144,000 will be chosen; and I ask "How many of you (JH's) are there now?" and they respond with some huge number (far more than the "chosen few"). So I sleepily respond, trying to follow the logic "So won't heaven be crowded?" and one of them says "Oh, only the good people will go". I answer, "Well in that case, there won't be anyone there" and close the door. P.S. they never came back.

Omg, that reminds me of story I heard a while ago. A couple lived in apartment just under the roof (when you have like 2-4 apartments on each floor of the building and on the highest just under the roof there's 1-2), so there was always hot on summer days. After they came back from work, the gf went to shower and the bf started cooking dinner. As it was well over 30°C in the kitchen and he was in early stages of cooking (preparing chicken), he was naked in his own home. I guess you can think what happened next, the doorbell rang and he, not thinking much about it, went there and opened / unlocked the door - with huge knife in one hand, piece of raw chicken in the other, butt naked. The Jehovah's Witnesses (older woman with young girl) squeaked in horror, turned around and ran downstairs. He didn't even need to talk to them, they just stopped bothering them. It wasn't on purpose, it was so hot he forgot he was naked. He also said he was at the end happy about it all, but also kinda regretted that, because when he had time and was bored / in the mood and they came by, he liked to discuss with them, trying to defy their logic and turn them to become jewish / catholic / atheists / whatever, to challenge them, to have some fun.

We haven't had JW bother us in years but a local horrible cult called the church of God has been in our area for years. I had no clue at first, why I was being targeted but they started with the obsessive door knocking and pushing their religion on me and of course not when my hubby was home. One day they pounded the door while I was in the shower. I came to the door in a towel. Told them that I would listen to their religious nonsense if they joined me in mine. As a Wiccan I often worship in my sky clothes. Aka naked. So I dropped the towel. After that they sent only women. After 3 or 4 visits the women were getting pushier and pushing and one actually threatened me that if I didn't join I'd die. So I got restraining orders on them. Figured I was finally shut of this nonsense. Nope they sent 2 little girls to try and change my mind while I was out gardening. There is a public building/hall on the next lot over so they could see them in my garden with me. I could see these little 6 and maybe 8 year olds were hungry and kinda scared. I settled them with all kinds of veggies and fruit from my garden while I dialed 911 about 2 abandoned little girls in my yard. I had 2 sheriff cars and CPS at my home in record time. Like maybe 10 minutes tops. By this time the way they were eating I bet they were starving. This cult only values men and women and girls are belongings. CPS and the sheriff had been trying to get into and check on these folks. Lots of complaints about these people from scared family members and other people being bothered like they bother me. The children were returned after a week or so and the other little girls were all not quite starved but certainly malnourished. But I'll tell ya-these zealots see me now and they all turn and walk quickly away. They know I mean it when I say I'll prosecute them to the full extent of the law. And we finally figured out why they targeted me. One of my cousins joined their cult and gave my name and address as a sinner who needs redemption 🤦‍♀️ I've shared this story quite a few times online so if it looks familiar, sorry.

The last story is fairly standard in the ambulance industry. The other things that the companies do is, you work a 24 hour shift but they don’t pay you after midnight unless you run a call. You are there for 24 hours, you can’t leave for any reason but the don’t pay you for 8 of those hours. I was lucky(?) as we were always super busy and ran multiple calls after midnight. The other thing they would do was if they couldn’t fill the shift after you, you would have to work that shift and then your normal 24 hour shift after so you be there for 72 hours, possibly with very minimal sleep. They couldn’t hold you more than 72 hours. Yes the overtime was good but sometimes sleep was better.

Regarding the parking lot story. I once had a car practically follow me out of a store and over to where I had parked. Obviously the driver wanted my space. There were plenty of open spaces but mine was the closest to the store. And the driver of the car was just glaring at me, angry that I wasn't getting into my car and giving her the space any faster than I was. Well, I wasn't going to put up with it. As far as I'm concerned, parking isn't a competition sport. So I took my purchases, put them in the back seat of my car, then closed and locked the door and calmly walked back towards the store, politely waving at the driver as I did so. Oh, yeah, she was beyond pissed. Regarding the woman peeking in the window, and the comment someone else posted here about dealing with Jehovah's Witnesses banging on his door while he was trying to sleep. I had a friend who was plagued by people like this. So one time, he got word from a friend who lived further down the street that the JW's were canvassing his neighborhood again, so he had some time to prepare. Consider that my friend was a rather large individual, about 6'2" and around 275 pounds at the time, and he had rather long, scraggly hair and a beard. So he already looked rather intimidating. He put on a butcher's apron that was splattered with red paint that he'd used at some sort of Halloween event, and when the JWs showed up, he greeted the door like this, also holding a meat cleaver in one hand. It stopped the JWs in their tracks. And then he called to another part of the house, "Hey, Ma, get the altar ready! We got another couple of 'em!" The JWs set a speed record for getting out of the area, and he wasn't bothered by much of anyone for a very long time.

I once worked at a logistics centre where there where 3 shifts. Evening (15:00 to 23:00) and night (23:00 to 07:00) where the busiest hours. Often, we had to work overtime after 07:00 to get things finished, and not give the small morning crew a huge load that they could not handle. After a few weeks I check my latest salary printout: I cant find overwork done after 07:00 as 'overwork': but I can find it as 'work'-hours. Puzzled I asked the manager about that. 'Oh', he said 'we count all hours starting from 07:00 as a new day'. After a few lunchbreaks with the others working overtime in the night shift: we talked to the manager again. We would stop doing overtime: if it was not payed out as overtime. That would mean his morning shifts where all going to be f-d up busy. I also pointed out the law. And the fact that we where all in a union. No overtimepay? no overtime. We also mentioned lawyers. He caved in after a few minutes. This was the same place where you would have to buy safety shoes out of your own pocket. 'thats just the way it is'. I actually read the general-workers-agreement for logistics workers that they fall under (its the Netherlands, all kind of worker groups have general-workers-agreements that they have forced the companies to sign under pressure of workers unions). Hidden in some corner of that agreement was something like: 'the work giver shall provide necessary safety gear like among other things safety shoes'. So one lunch-break I go to the manager and give him my cash register receipt for my safety shoes, about 120 euro, and demand the money from him. He laughs. I then show him the workers-agreement he is by law forced to follow. He stopped laughing. I got it with my next salary. Since then: everybody gets safety shoes from the company.

Barking Dogs Story: If I were OP, I'd be calling Animal Control and/or City Code Enforcement to report the constant barking from the neighbour's untrained dogs and I'd also be talking to a Lawyer about Suing the Neighbour because of her dog's constant barking interfering with my ability to enjoy my own Property... Get Petty with my and I have absolutely NO problem with Escalating right back... 😄😁😆😅😂🤣

I had someone that kept looking in my window. When I saw him I had my 12 gage pointed right at him. It was the last time I ever saw him.

I used to live in a small town with lots of Amish. And sometimes people (usually Amish) would sit on my porch to watch parades or whatever. I didn't mind as long as they asked first. My only rule was throw their garbage away and leave the porch clean. ... My wife and I both enjoy certain, "adult anime art". And we have a PC folder with several hundred curated images of the aforementioned art. A rough blend of male and female and couples. ... Back to the story... One day, there was some event going on and a bunch of Amish (all early twenties as far as I could tell) appeared on my porch and set up chairs and used my chairs and stuff. Without asking. And I went on the porch to just ask them to leave the porch clean. They said they would and said thanks for me not asking them to leave. After a while they left. I'm assuming they went to get dinner or something. But the porch was nackered; bottles and cans and wrappers everywhere. I proceeded to clean it up and go inside. ... My living room TV faces the porch window. But I have a thick semi-sheer window shade. Let's lots of daylight in but you can't see through unless you're within a couple of feet. ... The group returns later that night and is being pretty rowdy. I'm playing a video game on the TV. I ignore them for a few minutes. But they bang into my pane glass window a couple of times and they began looking into my living room rather frequently. I'm now annoyed. So I switch the TV to my slideshow of hentai. I already had the lights off so I now hide by leaving the room and standing in the dark of my den next to the living room and watched them. It was probably 2-3 minutes before somebody noticed. One of the girls looked in and saw the TV and after giving the shocked 😲 face for two seconds the pic changed and she gasped loud enough I heard it through the window. 😆. Suddenly ten faces are looking into my living room. I just relaxed and watched them all stand and stare for ten minutes before some of the girls and then the guys started laughing and saying maybe they should leave. They looked around the living room for me and I heard them whisper "is there even anyone there?" And "I can't believe they have that on their TV". At that moment I walked back into the room, holding an old shotgun and started oiling the barrel. Pretending they didn't exist. They all quietly left. And took most of their garbage with them. Funny thing is they actually continued to use my porch after that but never left it dirty again and never peeped into the house after that. 🤣

Frankly I would have told them never come back or I call the police and have them charged with trespassing and littering..

@@cindydott452 I would have if they left it a mess again. But I'm not much older than them, so I understand them having fun and goofing off. Also, I lived in the PERFECT location for town events. So I often allowed people to use my lawn or porch. And tbh they almost always left it perfectly clean. I put a garbage can out there and the young people group even took the garbage bag with them. So I didn't want to be too harsh. I'd give them permission to use the porch. They just didn't clean up the one time and I trolled them. lol. They did come back the next year but asked really politely ahead of time (a week in advance and the morning of the event) and were not at all rowdy. I think they figured out that I was trolling them before. 😁

Blinding someone is going to get you in a lot of trouble. There are laws against booby traps and intentionally aiming a laser at a window that you know a perp is going to use would very likely fall under that law or even worse (for you).

Peeping Thomasina: I might have made a sign saying “I’m gonna make you an internet star.” Then, when she’s there, pick up the sign and a cell phone, pull back the curtains, and say “Say something for the camera!” That might be more effective than security cameras, and certainly cheaper.

First story: Drinking in public may well be an offence in this jurisdiction, though probably only if witnessed by police. Not sure that 'public drinking with intent to drive' is even a thing.
