Oh the memories. I actually started in the Void, went into the pony subreddit to see how they shucked off our first attack, and ended up switching sides. Guess that makes a reformed villain or something.

Not a brony or even someone who was in r/place but this makes me proud that people can still come together.

This needs a sequel. We're not even a day into r/place 2022 but the Rainbow Dash art already rose, fell, then came back again.

I only just discovered this event just now, but I gotta say, I... I'm appalled. I'm appalled that I didn't find this sooner! This was absolutely amazing to see so many dedicated pixel artist groups forming together for a single purpose! It's things like these that make me proud that I am a brony, to see such openness with other factions and ultimately becoming united to find victory, and preserve art, that we can all enjoy.

I'm not even a brony and this was probably the most interesting thing I've watched all day. You've earned a well deserved like.

I always find it crazy when something this big happens on the internet and it makes the internet seem like it's own world, like a whole planet with all these connected peoples and groups, and it's own historical events. I have yet to be a part of any such events though.

I tried to imagine a motivational speech for the bronies before the beggining of this war, and that's what I imagine: "Boys and girls... Man, womans and non-binaries... Today is not just any day. Today, we can fight for what we believe. They think we are crazy. Mad. Stupid. Today, it's time for us to show that we are better than they think. It's time to show everything we learned. The blue shield is actually the logo of the University my cousin was in. IST means Instituo Superior Técnico. Now I feel weird to know that my own country nearly took over the Pony Faction.

i was part of the tiny tardis faction it was great as lots of people kept vandalising it but we always pulled through until the blue shield.. RIP all my bros and bro-ettes :)

i was actually a greek /r/place soldier, the invasion by turkey was completely different in real life though, they started vandalizing the flag with red with us already knowing who it was, we were well cordinated which is why we were the ones who had them to send a sort of peace treaty.

I'm not a brony, but this is still pretty intense. All I can gather was that r/place was the original PUBG before PUBG. Also, 1:56 *N Y E H H E H H E H ! I T I S I T H E G R E A T P A P Y R U S*

Well. Day one is not even up yet, and we aren't performing very well. Our beloved Dashie was sliced in half by Ukraine, and Dashie slowly crumbled from there. Derpy was going strong until a Twitch streamer organized a mass griefing resulting in her disappearance. I'm afraid to say I was affected enough by this slow demise of Dashie, but it ultimately led to me saying things I didn't mean and being banned from Manechat. While I am isolated from what ideas we have in the days to come, I'll try my hardest to protect what is left of our art.

Let me make a correction: The Sans Faction was actually just part of a larger faction, Undertale. (This is visible by Papyrus, Flowey, and a Red Soul) Usually once anything Undertale shows up Sans follows quickly and is essentially the control tower of the Undertale Faction.

Holy crap, I have heard about this whole project, but I had NO IDEA it was so massive and well organized. I absolutely love social experminets like this one, so thank you for bringing it to my attention. Also, the presentation of this video was perfect. And, as a Runescape fan, I was so happy to see a DC box in the top left corner :D

Dude, you should consider being a history teacher... this was fantastic! A riveting story I never would have know about otherwise, and felt like an actual war documentary! (Only far more interesting and absurd) I always love it when you do different kinds of videos like this! Keep it up! /)

I'm so sad I joined VERY LATE in this event. Well my pony is now safe there.

I'm not a brony myself, but this is considered a grand milestone for ALL communities and the internet as a whole. It really shows that an entire Earth's worth of history can be summarized in 3 days on the internet, with decisions like "enemy/ally" or "fight/surrender" being really prevalent both in this subreddit and human nature. It's like history repeating itself in one little page.

What is this, Internet Historian:Brony Edition? I dig it

Well. r/place 2 has ended, and I have to say, this may be one of the greatest underdog stories in history. Despite our losses on day 1 and me ultimately getting banned from Manechat, I'm happy to say that I defended pony artwork till the very end. We were able to take on anyone that tried to stop us, and we had tons of our artwork stretched across the canvas. While it was sad to see the event go yet again, I'm very happy we've made our mark yet again, and it was nice to see the fandom unite together again. Some who left the fandom came back to help us in our struggles, and overall, this was more than just a bunch of pixels. It was an experience to live this out with everybody. As Sharon Carter said: "Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move... it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree... look them in the eye and say no, you move."

The r/place easter eggs that i loved: -Rainbow dash -Monstercat -Philippine flag -Protostar and etc.

This video actually got me interested in ponies again back in 2017 I think. Used to watch in middle/ high school, but videos like this got me back into it. Thank you brony youtubers, God Bless the fans.

I watched my squad die in the Second Battle of the Blue Corner. The trenches were covered in cold, blue blood. I won’t ever get those images out of my head.

Still resting from the Great Pixel War of 2022. I can already tell that the telling of this year's Place is gonna be MAYHEM.

Can't wait to see your sequel documentary to second event. Please be sure to mention the part where twitch streamer xQcOW got upsetty spaghetti that his twitch logo kept being destroyed so he attempted to counter destroy the whole canvas with a PURPLE void using his 150,000 followers to do so. He actually managing to destroy the ponies breifly --UNTIL THANKFULLY-- all of reddit banded together to destroy all the purple pixels and restore balance to the canvas which included returning the ponies to their rightful spot. Truely one exciting sequel event to the great pixel war. It still rages on at this moment. But for now it appears as through victory is assured. But we must keep fighting into the night and beyond!

This just shot back some reminiscent memories. I was originally a soldier for The Void, but by the 2nd day, ended up deserting The Void to protect Rainbow Dash.

Imagine if there were a very large, like, peace keeping area where they put a picture of peaceful things, like flowers, birds, or anything they agreed on, how would they defend that from the void.

I keep searching this video up because is too damn good and well done! r/place was a crazy thing and I wish I was there when it happened

Epic factions, through-the-night defense, shaky alliences, eminent betrayal, constant threat of destruction, suspense, teamwork and fun.... Sounds like my mind of deal! Wish I could have helped dashie survive

So, did a little reasarch to find out exactly how long Dashie lasted using the longest time lapse of /r/place I could find. /r/place lasted 72 hours. Dashie appeared 6 hrs and 51 mins (approximately) after /r/place was underway. Lasting until the end, she lasted an astounding 65 hours and 9 minutes. The only major non-nationalistic factions in play that would make it until the end were Rainbow Road, Green Lattice, and Blue Corner. (I mean, Blue Corner technically survived. Barely.) Her only neighbor at the end to have been on the board before her was Papyrus. This is something the video didn't say, but Dashie was among the first factions to form that was neither nationalistic nor color based. And she actually makes it to the end. Damn...

We will repeat our victory today as well!
