That girlfriend sounds like she had the same personality as my wife. My wife is introverted, around strangers, but even so, is very bright and bubbly. She is one of those sweet people that no one can really ever see losing their temper... But cross my wife and she WILL have your head on a plate. In 30+ years together I've only seen her lose it twice and after the first time, I learned, just to stand back and watch the fireworks. Beware of the sweet quiet ones!

Company that cut the trees down should have been sued. They knew the value of all that and should have known to take precautions to cover their own ass like getting proof of property lines and written permission from the owners. They would have known full well that screwing this up could ruin them. A few counter tops, probably made from the wood they technically stole, is a lame apology.

That last story sounds exactly like how I was treated back in my home town except no one had weed. I have a learning disability, depression, and social anxiety. After trying to get back on my feet from just laying in bed because my depression and anxiety were that bad, I worked for a local grocery story. I was bagger and cart pick up, I was treated like shit because I was meticulous about how I put customer's groceries in the bags, I would make small talk all in all just trying to be friendly. After a few months my anxiety was rearing its ugly head, and my meds needed tweaked at the time I didn't know it. At work I just shut down, like I had to force myself not to freak out over ever noise, I can't walk into a large chain grocery store without wanting to hide in a corner and cry. A few of the high school girls who worked there took turns to see who could scare me, because of my anxiety I easily startle if I'm zero focused just trying to get through my tasks. I would beg them to stop even went to my boss and explained but they didn't care. Because of this they kept upping my hours even though I made it specific that I could only work certain times of day. This cost me major set back when it came to my anxiety and depression, I had several break downs to the point I thought my mom might force me to go to the hospital. I had enough when one employee became manager and freaked out on me if I missed putting something in someone's bag or I didn't bring in ALL the carts. I just stopped going. The year after, I finally got my shit together and thought I got a better job working in an old folks home, I loved it, loved the interactions. What was my problem this time? I was moving to slow in the kitchens, I was following the rules but didn't do it on how certain people liked it. Karen the cook berated and belittled me in front of everyone, I was starting to see a pattern and a trend. I had a learning disability and because of this I was doing things that required me to move fast but couldn't because my hand eye coordination is off...by a lot. (I know your going to say, but that's not an excuse. Well at the age of 3 had cancer and Ecoli so I think I'm justified that I didn't come out entirely unscathed) and when I tried talking to my boss it was a they said she did care about what I said so again I quit. So my fellow readers I bet your wondering, third times the charm right? Yes and no, I started my third job working in a kitchen at a hospital. Again the belittling, clicks like people were still in fucking high school. I'm short and I can't reach the top shelf, I ask a manager who was taller to reach something...they didn't like I bothered them. That year I also started dating, yes he lived in another state yes I did my due diligence, I let my boss know in October that I was going to be moving to Georgia in December after X-mas. No one believed me, I shrug it I gave him my written notice. Que everyone trying to be nicer to me, When December came around my fiance announced he had a surprise in store, I knew what it was and it involved a ring and two words. I was on cloud 9 until people were giving me yeah right looks as I told them. JOKES ON YOU ASSHOLES! I now live in GA with my fiance and our three dogs and a cat.

Tree law is a major thing in the uk. One of my neighbours cut down another neighbours tree because it was blocking the sunlight. However, from when that neighbour moved in he only had a specific time frame to state this, otherwise deal with it. He left it too late but cut the tree down anyway. Because of this he was fined and unable to remove the bits of tree from his garden (he hadn't gotten round to clearing them yet) and the neighbour who owned the tree got to decide when they could be moved. They stayed there for a long time.
