I once fell victim to a food thief. My co-worker tried to justify it by saying that we don’t know their financial situation. I responded with “well, we know this person has a job!” It doesn’t matter what the reason is. Stealing is still stealing!

A guy I used to work with would sometimes make himself a peanut butter, nutella, and jelly sandwich for a snack, and it would occasionally start going missing. One day in the locker room as we were stowing our gear he loudly announced "By the way, my sandwich today, I smeared my own shit on the bread before making it. So whoever stole it, congratulations, you ate my shit," and this one guy Justin starts dry heaving.

Story 1: Food being stolen is no good. Not only do you end up depriving someone of a meal, but in the worst cases, that meal might've been their only one. I have no respect for food thieves because they don't care about other people, they just want free food
@minnarosenqvistmr
@minnarosenqvistmr 9 месяцев назад
Yeah, it should be punishable! I had my food stolen at work,and I was so broke that I only could eat once a day,and that was my lunch.. someone stole it often, and when I complained(to the rich boss) ,she just said we'll go buy something... Yeah ,buy something with my pennies...? I quit a few weeks after it.. And it was a fastfood place.. so nothing lost there.. I usually cried to my then bf,now husband,about it, and he and his mom took me to their home,so I could eat and sleep ,and live like a normal person.. I was living with my mom,and she took my paycheck, everything from it, for "rent&food", but I never got food.. she did though have cigarettes and booze daily...😢
@minnarosenqvistmr

I was so underweight after living with my own mom, that I was hospitalized for anorexia.. great parenting.. I'm a mom of three,and my oldest (21yr), knows that if he doesn't have food or anything else, he can come home and eat his heart full.. I try my best&hardest to be the exact opposite from my mom, so I know I don't get my kids to hate me.. My mom doesn't get to see my kids,nor does she even have the right to go near any of us , Because I have an restraining order against her😂😂😂😂

Once had a polish house mate who stole food and drinks from me. I work night shift and came back to cook a meal only to find all my ingredients stolen and half of it thrown into bottom of the bin. When I confronted him he actually had the nerve to spit in my face and shove me after I returned it. No doubt this coloured my perception of eastern europeans from then on even though I know it's wrong. I did however get some revenge on him though it would probably be too graphic to post. XD

I don't get why using hot sauce or laxatives in your OWN food is a bad thing in work places. Even if you are doing it to catch the thief. Stealing is a more serious crime then "the owner tampering with thier own food and property"

Thing is: No, causing bodily harm to another person intentionally is more serious than mere food theft - and when tempering with your food with laxatives or similar, it's clear why you did it. (Please don't try to argue with me about the moral side of this - no need to convince me personally about "you reap what you sow"^^) That's why when yo DO temper with your food, there needs to be a reasonable excuse as to why you might wanted to have eaten it this way.

Story 2: Just because you are a senior in the company doesn't necessarily mean you know everything about it, especially sonce one of them asked what a EULA is. And I don't understand why they are bullying OP simply because he resigned. Pretty sure they are in a way saying "How dare you resign after we keep bullying and piling the work onto you". Phone story: I probably would have taken the phone out of its socket and into my room and only borrow it when asked, and only to the person who was decent enough to pay their share of the bill.
@Eppon6
@Eppon6 9 месяцев назад
Considering that this was before cell-phones, and considering this is a multiple room-mates situation, it was most likely an old wired set directly mounted to a wall in a rental property. Cordless home phones (80's) were a piece of tech that was adopted in middle class homes quite close in time to mobile phones. (90's) Most people never bothered with a cordless home phone and adopted mobile phones later on for the extra utility. I doubt the OP had the time, qualifications and/or approval from the landlord to uninstall/reinstall an old wall-mounted home phone on a whim.

believe it or not the work culture for old folk in India is much more obtuse than America, an Indian businessman Naraynana Murthy actually claimed that a real full time job is 70 hours a week, that gives you no time to decompress, barely enough time to sleep or eat, and you'd be at work for 14 hours 5 days a week, or 10 hour for all 7 days, just because you work hard doesn't mean you deserve more then the modern man, or claim that they're lazy

However, a few years back I decided to try my hand at an online business. Spoiler alert: It did NOT go well, lol. But, what it did do was force me to learn a lot about how to do certain things. If you don't know how to do something on your computer, RU-vid is your friend. I learned how to use GIMP (a poor man's Photoshop), learned how to use Word, and a few other things. 250k shu is not much. Most people are unaware of what shu (Scoville Heat Units) actually are. If we talk about revenge stories, it is usually Ghost Pepper or Carolina Reaper that is being used. Ghost Pepper starts at 800k shu, and Carolina Reaper at 1.4 mill shu. So for people who like a bit of spice 250k is on the sweet instead of the spicy side. Sorry for OP, but I am the one that likes spicy, and prefer Carolina Reaper over Ghost pepper because of it. (And no, not seen any product made with Pepper X, I think it is still not verified.)

This is what I used go through at the office: My colleagues weren't that old, and had Masters' degrees in our field. "How do I do X in Y software? "I don't know- did you check the help function?" (( blank stares )) "Okay, let's check the Help. Hmm, not too helpful- let's ask Mister Googlepants." I would end up Googling the answer, then going to their desk and training them to do the thing I had no clue how to do five minutes ago. Rinse and repeat. They never did learn to use Google. Any adult with a pulse should be able to use Google, but apparently this doesn't apply to unionized State employees. I had to drop out of college for financial reasons. I ended up getting a position that usually requires a college degree through a two year traineeship. My colleagues as I said had Masters' degrees, and years of experience. I had to do SO much hand-holding and training. And that was just one office of many I worked in over my career. TL/DR: My counselor claims I have PTSD after working in that place for over 30 years before retirement. I was like "No way, that's only for combat vets and trauma victims!" but also "Well, that explains a LOT."

Would there ever be a point where you both have enough time to contribute? RU-vid autotranslate is only stable half the time. You often get a wall of text at the beginning thats only partially translated correct, and the rest of the video is blank. (Not these videos but videos generally). Even videos with the proper subtitles but you use auto anyway. So. Is it something Rslashes wife could or would eventually do? If not, id have to get a Hollywood translator to do it for me, and then I keep the copies.

story 1: this is literally premeditated poisoning admission. it is long established practice that if you temper with the food you know someone will steal from you, it is assault. if you use potential harmful substance (like laxative or very spicy ingredients) it is poisoning. op described going out of his way to prepare very harmful food with explicit purpose to harm whomever is stealing their food. even making a conspiracy with others to do so (as he sought advice on it). why do people document their very serious crimes?

Because it was a food extract its hard to charge them. With laxatives you can argue danger that comes with it. This was food grade capsicum which makes things a little more complicated. It also depends where you are for laws.

That was my thought the entire story.

Based off this comment, you must be a food thief too. It’s food grade Capsaicin. Not laxatives.

@@tatkkyo9911 that was purified, not condiment "food grade", extract. and there is clear and documented intent to cause harm. it literally gives you both legal requirements of forseable theft and intent to cause harm. only mitigation i could think of would be an explicit "danger! do not eat!" large and clear marking but even that is negated by the post. the post is so damning that i can't believe anyone thought it was ok to share.

If the crime took place years ago, it’s quite possible that Statute of Limitations has run out. So it would be safe to put it out there.

The ageism by Rslash at the end was inappropriate. Not all older are tech illiterate but u wouldn't know it by how Rslash attacked them
