That last story reminded me of a joke from a Swedish movie. There is a character with the last name "Ahl" who is marrying his girlfriends Anne. Then at the wedding the priest goes "I now present to you, for the first time [First name] Ahl and Ann Ahl". I probably don't need to explain this but her name is pronounced just like the Swedish pronunciation of the word "Anal". Then we see a big realization sweep the entire venue and everyone gets very red in the face. The entire relationship plot line of the movie was just a setup for that joke, and I loved it.

I got pepper spray a few years back because of my old job it was a cleaning job at a movie theater and a lot of homeless people like to hang out outside because when it opened they could go in use the restrooms get free water from the water fountains or they could get a cheap drink. It was an early morning job too but when I got there it was pretty dark my parents kept urging me to get some and i kept putting it off until one night. A homeless guy who was clearly e on drugs as he was moving his hands around wildly and talking to himself wandered around my car he circled it twice and I was so scared I hate judging people who are sometimes you have to protect yourself and I realize that Morning that they were right and i needed to get pepper spray. Thankfully the guy wandered off and I booked it into the movie theater. I'm also grateful that I Never had to use my pepper spray before.

One time me and an ex friend were facing off with a big spider that didn’t die from being stomped with my big boots it flattened itself then scurried off to hide jn the door way. Us forever wrinkle brained pepper sprayed that mofo the whole thing till it curled up and died. Every person that walked through that door was like “ahhh nooooo who got sprayed” and we had to be like totally not a spider that’s who. To be fair this was a place full of nothing but degenerates so luckily but wasn’t that odd to walk through in that environment.

In the fourth story, no one said anything about their marriage being hasty. And that said, that's honestly not that hasty. There are women/men who think they need to get engaged within 6 months or they're being strung along in a relationship. Story 1 reminded me of that scene from Red 2, where Marvin gives Sarah a gun without Moses knowing, and he gets pissed. Sarah says she knows how to use it, and then accidentally fires it into a field. Moses takes the gun from her and says to Marvin, "You don't give fire to a kitten!"

Pepper Spray story. That is at least misdemeanor assault or battery depending on the state and using it in a car like that endangering the lives of everyone could very easily make a a felony since this was not any kind of self defense. Former LEO and I had made a couple arrests for just this kind of stupidity. One was a women was given the wrong change back at a store. (.28 cents instead of .78) the other was a guy who was mad because his seat was taken in a movie theater when he got up to use the bathroom before the movie started. The movie theater assault ended up escalating to a felony because he had respiratory issues and was hospitalized for a few days plus the assault effected a half dozen others near by.
Second story: I also don’t feel bad I knew he wasn’t going leave his wife because that’s how it happens most of the time. I’m sure he won’t stay faithful to his wife and I’m positive he’ll try to mess around with Op let’s hope she’s smart enough to say No.

Pepperspray story reminds me of the fact one of the kids I went to highschool with brought 2 cans in for some reason. A guy went through her bag, stole the two, and effectively pepperbombed the english hallway/hall to the library. I was at lunch, normally would go to the library during that time, so I went over and the school blocked off 2/3 doors. Not the one I used though. Sooo I walked face first into a pepperspray wall. My dad had to come get me, and I had so much spray radiating off me that he had to take the top down on the car in winter because he couldn't drive through tears. That was second hand, with the spray covering the second story of a building. I don't want to KNOW what it'd been inside a car.
Regarding the Pepper Spray. Very stupid, but I have a story that would probably qualify as MORE stupid except for the fact that the culprit was 3 or 4. I have 4 sisters who are a LOT younger than me (I am 12-20 years older than them, so at this time the youngest still hadn't been born). Anyway, this happened in fall 1990 or spring of '91 when I was a Freshman in college. I was close enough to home that it was pretty easy to go home for weekends fairly regularly like this: my mom and 3 sisters came to pick me up. They came to my dorm and helped me carry all my crap to the car (well conversion van) and we were on our way. Sisters in the back, my mom & I in the front. Before we hit the interstate to get home sister Mary is screaming bloody murder behind me in the floor of the van. Amongst the stuff we'd thrown in there when loading up was my jacket. In the pocket of it was the requisite college girl pepper spray key chain accessory. Mary was snooping, found it, decided it was PERFUME and sprayed it directly in her own face!
First Story: I experienced something similar. I am german and drove on the Autobahn and everyone knows how things work there. It was raining hard, like you couldn't really see even with the windshield wipers on max. Still everyone drove around 100km/h in the right lane and about 120km/h in the left. I wasn't scared because, well, when you have a no limits highway in your country usually everyone knows how to drive. I was in the left lane about 120km/h fast... and then my wipers stopped working. I was instantly blind. Couldn't see a thing through all the water. It was terrifing. I turned the emergency lights on, somehow managed to pull into the right lane while slowing down (you never ever do an emergency breaking on the Autobahn), and then managed to get on to the shoulder to park there. I was alone in the car and with no pain but it was still horrific. My first thought was: Yepp, you are going to have an accident and then you are dead. OP must have had it a hundred times worse! Actually, this would be a dealbreaker for me. She almost killed five people and for what?!
Hey rSlash, I just wanted to inform you that if OP isn't willing or able to share the jokes and considering OP specifically called out that his friend puts people down to lift his own ego, I think it is safe to say that what the friend was saying was not "jokes" at all. Jokes said with venom are not jokes. Jokes made to intentionally make people feel lesser are not jokes. It's one thing to make jokes JUST between close friends about ones weight or habits, but in healthy friendships it is only ever done with love as a playful jab, and not intended to actually put anyone down. Jokes like calling your friend an idiot, or laughing when they fail at a small and not important thing, or laughing when they get physically hurt by an accident, or gently teasing about weight in a way that is uplifting for the friend. If OP has to explicitly state that his friend is like this, it is likely because his friend constantly pushes boundaries with his "jokes". It is likely that OPs friend has caused enough problems with his "jokes" in the past that now OP feels the need to defend his friend. People who make genuine jokes don't need to be defended, because they know how to avoid stepping on toes with genuine humor. Crude people tend to make "jokes" that are only funny to the person who said it and their immidiate circles. AKA, they belittle and mock people. They make fun of people. They bully people. I ABSOLUTELY agree that using the pepper spray in the confined space of the car was a potentially lethal mistake. Being the victim of pepper spray being let off in a confined space, I know how dangerous this careless act of aggression was. I agree that the girlfriend was nuts for putting everyone in danger like that. That being said, I also think that the girlfriend was right to stick to her guns on the matter. This friend douse not sound like the type of friend most good people would want to have, and in fact they sound pretty nasty and toxic, possibly dangerous because the ven diagram of people with this kind of "crude humor" and people who hurt other people is nearly a circle. Anyway, I look forward to seeing more of your content! It's always fun for me to hear your justifications for your perspectives on the stories you read to us. And your humor is great, too! Story 3, I think that the bookstore lady probably did have feelings for him but realized it to late when she saw the ring she made that comment hoping there was problems with his marriage or something but then he said he turned gay which she took literally which crushed all chances of her possibly being with him in her mind so she cried. 🤷♂️ just my thoughts that’s the only reason I could see where her reaction would make sense.

OMG the pepper spray story reminds me of an incident at my first real job. I worked at a call center. It was the middle of summer, and there was a problem with the AC so they had these big, industrial fans all over the place. It was a huge call center-probably 200 people on each side. Well, for some reason, a girl tried to "flirt" with a boy she liked, and decided the way to do it would be to threaten him with pepper spray. She set it off-and it caught one industrial fan...and then another, and another, and another...eventually the whole calling floor was coughing, gasping, wiping their stinging, blind eyes...and most of us didn't even know what happened. Ambulances, the fired department and the police department showed up. Multiple people (including me because, asthma) were taken to the hospital. The girl was lucky that she didn't get prosecuted, but she did lose her job. After that, pepper spray was banned from the office, even though those of us that remained were smart enough to know not to set them off to "flirt"!

When I lived in the dorms at my college, I ordered pepper spray for safety purposes. When it arrived however, undenounced to me, the packaging was damaged. I took it out to put on my keychain, unsuspectingly getting it on my hands, and then in my eyes when I took my contacts out. Very quickly, my skin felt on fire, and my eyes burned. I jumped in the shower and rinsed myself off, clothes and all. I sat in the shower sobbing because it hurt so much. I put on gloves, disposed of the broken spray, and wiped down everything I touched or so much as looked at while holding the can. Never again. I feel for OP and his friends. I was only briefly exposed and it hurt like hell. GF needs therapy, cause that was an extreme reaction to a bit of bro teasing
Not quite as bad as spraying it in a car, but one of my cousins (he’s a cop) watched another cop try to disrupt a crowd by spraying pepper spray in a circle around himself. Dude put himself in an inescapable peppers spray bubble lol
