Leaving Iceland after just 8 days here!
8 days definitely isn’t long enough, and I’m feeling genuinely sad to be leaving.
I’ve loved every minute here and have been very lucky with the conditions. But even on the rainy and cold days I’ve been happy to be outside breathing in the clean air and soaking up the beautiful views.
My last day is a long one, so I was able to go to a new town and enjoy some last minute miles before getting back on the boat.
Hopefully one day I’ll be able to come back and spend more time on the island and explore more unusual routes. Up next is the long ride home from Denmark…

Loved this series Liz. Lots of haters everywhere, but I’m sorry you experience this. Thanks for bringing us all with you. You have given me some confidence to try touring on non-GS bike. You prove it can (and will) be done.

I have a dodgy left ankle so I try to avoid twisting/turning on it when getting on and off - this way is much easier for me, especially when I’ve got luggage on the back
