My old next door neighbor happens to own a car shop and while he specializes in European cars, he does get special orders from time to time. And he invited me out to come along to pick up this four door R34 Skyline!
He's not a JDM exporter, per se, mostly because these cars cost so much at auctions these days that the profit margin is simply too low. Commuter cars are actually more profitable.
That being said, he can get cars like this from auction and this one sold 2 hours after it got off the boat!
For me personally, the four door 34 is the only 34 I'd consider buying, mostly because the two door GTT isn't sporty or light enough and the GTR is too expensive. So the only one that makes sense to me in the current market is a four door then get a light car like a Miata for sporty driving.
...But then there are better sedan options for daily driving so you really kind of have to want a 34 specifically to buy one these days.
At any rate, this is what it looks like to pick up a car from shipping to Okinawa!
