The scene was almost completely dominated by Hondas at this time. Authentic imported JDM parts, the JDM subtle look, which was a move away from big body kits and into the oem+ look had become a huge unstoppable phenomenon. Few people used the term to refer to what market the car was manufactured for, until more recently. So we should really thank early website forums, the late 90s Honda scene, and the legendary sports car culture of Japan for making the term JDM what it is today.
