BEST VIDEO OF LIFE...saw this more than 7 years ago and still come back to it, owned an R6 same year of vid and more than 10 different liter bikes including 2 S1Ks but still cant get over the crazy R6 high Rev scream........oh goodness
+asyraf296 because of the wind. thats in portugal "ponte vasco da gama" thats the bridge name. in my car once i hit the 190km/h in that bridge but i felt the wind pushing my car so i slow down
***** Talking to you is like talking to a 5 year old ... waste of time and you still don't get it , maybe get a bike and know how the feeling is before you comment ....
looks like chesapeake bay bridge... nice run.. but personally i think you are crazy doing that on the bridge... i live in jersey and the wind on those bridges moves me around.. on my bike AND my car.... cant imagine out there
Just so you all know, the r6 stock does NOT go 290s km/h. That's like 182mph. Even with mods. This is the speedometer reading, actual is probably like 165mph at most stock.
This is in the Vasco da Gama's bridge in Lisbon, Portugal. It is 17km long and it is usually windy because it crosses Tejo's river. This kind of high speed races occurs very often specially at night when there's not almost traffic at all.
Because I am old and dumb, I traded my '12 R1 in on a Harley. I never found out how fast it was. I was down in SoCal going across Interstate 8 into AZ at midnight and was flirting around with 180mph. I was running a full Graves exhaust, PCIII, dyno'd and fully tuned, K&N, velocity stacks, ported and polished head and blue printed motor. I never had the stones to go beyond what I did, but I know she had alot more. The crossplane R1s are no joke. I would love for Yamaha to put a crossplane motor in the the R6.
Brandon Goodheart LOL! Moto gp riders don't have a cars and lampposts on a track. :) If this guy hit a car at 300 kph he will die. With or without full gear. And thats his problem. I can't understand guys like you which going to videos which contain "TOP SPEED" in the name, and commenting about that what is rider wearing. Sorry if my english is bad and don't take my comment insulting, I'm just realistic.
R6 top speed is 160 although I heard 180 can be reached with the right gear. R1 can easily hit 186 mph. Yeah, you go in a straight LINE because at that speed, you can't move at all!!
2:18 that car that's going into the left lane... douchébag of note... not expecting a bike at 290km/h to come flying along... Secondly anyone that is going that speed and just wears a t-shirt as protection should not receive sympathy when in hospital or their funeral.
Next thing you know. Craigslist add- r6 for sale, perfect condition, well maintained, Yadi Yada Yada. Haha that bike can take a beating and doesn't blow up,
Harley riders that are the type to "hate" sportbikes wouldn't have a different opinion of them if sportbike riders were more sensible as a group on the public roads. The type of person that worships at the altar of Harley is the same type of person that doesn't consider "crotch rockets" to even be "real motorcycles."
CriXn Dhal07 a lot of bikes come with a speedometer that's off by a certain percentage (I've heard 6% is the most common) to keep people from speeding. Cars definitely do it. A speedo-healer corrects this, and most people use it when they change out their sprockets as well, those throw off factory speedos big time.
yeah, my r6 will do 178 (with a backpack and jeans on (drag)). But that was awful quick, maybe he has a full system or pwr cmndr.. a small HP gain may get you another few on the top...?
Awesome sick! I'm depressed... my R1 is down with the flu..... Starter problem I have to tear into... I've gotten her up there a bit (280 mph) following a duely pickup believe it or not... cracked me up... the duely was jamming and I passed it and met the folks in Carizoso NM.... funniest cowboys I've ever seen!
drifter13 Actually, tha bike simply doesn't have enough power to be able to accelerate that fast without gear ratio adjustments, heavy engine modification, ECU tuning, and a full exhaust modification. Making the gears taller will significantly reduce acceleration, and making them shorter will increase acceleration, but the bike will reach a lower top speed in each gear. If this guy has not heavily modified the motorcycle, then his speedometer is just way off.
Urban Chaos 2.0 Yupp....I am saying because this one sounds like it has head work done and maybe cams...but yeah it is entirely poss. that speedo is off. Lot of guys go for aftermarket grippy tires that are super grippy but are diff. size and hence cause the problems with speedo.
FichDichInDemArsch loool, never go full stupid man, just because you are jealous does not mena the video is fake... Ive I saw a video of my friend reaching 290 on a R6 and 299 +++ on a Ducati 1098... There are millions of videos in youtube about r6 going almost 300kmh and you dont belive because you are stupid.. thats it.
Sergio Pinto Sorry dude. His speedo is wrong. According to Sport Rider magazine a stock 2010 R6 maxed out at radar verified 159.8 MPH in their testing. Give or take a couple MPH to account for variations in rider size, ability to tuck, and things like wind but a R6 is totally incapable of 292 KPH. 292 KPH is roughly R1 radar/gps verified top speed.
