This video is from the lead RAAF F/A-18A Hornet flown by the then solo display pilot "Bung". Watch as he leads into Sydney Harbour 2 other F/A-18 Hornet's and then pulls up into his solo display for the Sydney crowd. The footage was taken by a Gopro looking back at him.

Another fantastic video. We're so lucky to be able to see these videos. Sydney looks impressive enough from any location but from this perspective it really is a special treat. Nice to see the Pacific Pearl and perhaps the Maasdam anchored in the harbour also. As I said in a previous comment, your videos are the best I have ever seen. I hope we will continue to see more. I am sure many people on the ground around Sydney must have been wondering what it must be like for the pilot and wishing they could be up there too. This is the next best thing for sure.

I watched this and filmed it from the ground and have uploaded my footage to YT but I'm very happy to come across this clip here on YT; it's incredible. Thanks of uploading it. :-)

I remember when we started building these! The first two centre fuselages arrived in a USAF Galaxy aircraft at Avalon. Was so cool being there.

Beyond words. Thank you for this. How do pilots ensure that other jets and flying objects do not collide or perform conflicting movements up there I wonder, because no communication between them in the video. Amazing RAAF skills. Proud.

Ranim Bill the pilots conduct very thorough briefs before and after every sortie to ensure that everything goes to plan. They’re communicating but their radio’s aren’t tuned into the actual audio of this vision here.

I was there. It was awesome. Please continue with this style of display. Please, the longer the better. More speed is better. The surprise entry is always superb. I like it to feel like we are at war and you are coming to rain some fire upon our invaders. We are always on the eastern side of the Opera house, 5.5m Quintrex with Evinrude power. I like to feel the power too. Please, longer stronger and three planes staying is better. Break the sound barrier when leaving the heads would be all time!

Almost perfect! I wish there was a video of the HUD/Pilot perspective as well~ that would truly be awesome! Can anyone tell me what that red/white cylindrical object is, on the canopy near the pilot's left shoulder?

Can someone explain what is that vapor when F18 turn hard? I know about vapor before breaking sound barrier, but what is this when turning hard at subsonic speeds?
@AviationSpottersOnline
@AviationSpottersOnline 6 лет назад
AirlinersHD . When such a maneuver is pulled, it creates intense pressure variations and the air above the top part of the aircraft experiences a drastic pressure drop. If this happens on a sufficiently humid day, a spectacular condensation cloud is seen.

Now what's the red thing on the right side? Is that something that gives off signals to the wingmen?
